I just got home from two packed, awesome, crazy, and memorable weeks of traveling. Right after finishing three movie press junkets in Los Angeles, I headed straight to New York City for Blogger Bash. My roommate for this adventure was my blogging doppelgänger, Carol, who joined myself and fellow PDX blogger Meagan for a bright and early flight to the Big Apple.
Carol and I stayed at the fabulous Omni Berkshire Place for the duration of our stay, and it was the perfect spot. You’ll be reading a full review of the hotel soon, but for now, I’ll leave you with a photo of the view taken from our balcony:
This was my first time attending Blogger Bash, and I had a fantastic time. The conference was held aboard the Majesty Yacht, with three levels dedicated to panels, expo booths, and activities. The boat stayed at the dock until the closing party, at which time we took an amazing cruise down the Hudson river.
I really enjoyed all the activities, and was impressed with the size and variety of the Expo Halls – from Babypalooza to Sweet Suite to Shop Ireland and New Product Events, there was something for everybody, and far more booths than I had time to visit. I also thought the Speed Pitching session was well organized and very productive.
Although this was a business trip and my schedule was jam-packed, I still managed to squeeze in some socializing and sight-seeing. Who needs sleep anyway? Blogger conferences are a sort of family reunion, and it was a joy to see so many old friends and make new ones.
5 Unforgettable NYC Moments
1. Seeing the Statue of Liberty in person for the first time
2. Eating a cookie made from crickets
3. Watching a huge crowd block the road to take photos of Manhattanhenge while buses and cabs honked wildly at them
4. Listening to Snooki & JWoww talk about feminism
5. Hunting for Pokemon in Manhattan at 1 AM
So after two weeks on the road, crossing the country, getting home from Blogger Bash and running a 5k a few hours later (more on that Friday…), I think this photo I took sums up how I look this Monday:
Hahaha! Until next year, Blogger Bash – thanks for an incredible time!
