You did this for me right? 🙂 I don’t really have a back to school routine.. but I do have to get up and go to work early in the morning, does that count? In which case, here goes:
Alarm goes off
Hit snooze
Alarm goes off
Hit snooze
Alarm goes off
Turn alarm off
Go back to sleep
Wake up 30 mins later..
What? I’m late again? Sheesh!

Well, since I’m still attending college classes, my ‘back to school’ routine is getting organized, getting new notebooks, and a planner. On an average ‘school day’ I have to leave work and go to class in the evenings. It’s very stressful, so winning this would sure help 🙂 Have a great weekend.

No real routine here. Just get up and ready as usual and get school supplies, or just used the unused ones from the year before.
The kids wake up, they eat breakfast, then it’s usually rushed to get dressed, brush teeth, comb hair, shoes on, and out the door… and my oldest is just in preschool! I can only imagine it’s going to get more chaotic as the other kids start school as well.

The school bells will be ringing soon,
And children will be taught in tune,
And now who would have thought it so,
“Mom” has a class where she will go!
It’s Dog Class # 101,
For pup and me,each week is fun,
We are being trained just so
And there’s lots of words we’ll get to know!
This prize is great and sure would help,
To start my days… and the shirt itself
Is quite a treasure, for me to wear
and I’d bring coffee mugs full, to share!
All of our school supplies and most of the clothes have been purchased. We try not to save anything for the last minute!

I really do not have a routine. Normally, my mom comes over to take my son to school because I have to leave early for work. Then when I get home from work I pick him up from my moms. But for the next couple of weeks I will be getting him up and taking him to school because my mom fractured her foot and cannot drive. My sister will be picking him up from school. The one thing I will do each night though is prepare his lunch and clothes, and whatever else he needs for the following morning. Being organized really helps the mornings go much smoother for everyone. : )

I start my school shopping one week after the July 4th holiday by going to Walmarts and purchasing notebook paper, pens, pencils, spiral notebooks, etc. School supplies at this time is usually very reasonable and I purchase the supplies in large quantities.
I always shop during tax free weekend. I buy extra for the school supplies drive at our school. We start getting up and going to bed 2 weeks before school starts so we have the routine down. I get a desk planner and we fill in the important dates such as school functions, Dr. Appts, and after school activities. This helps us get ready the night before and we rarely forget anything.

At our house we get everything (clothes, lunches, homework completed and placed in backpacks) the night before.
My back to school routine starts with going to bed early so that I can get used to waking up for my morning classes! Also, I have to be ready to leave an hour early on that first day because the parking & traffic at my commuter college is crazy!
Our back to school routine is buying school supplies and getting started on class work early so we have some breathing room once the school officially begins. I review the curriculum and make sure we review everything in the summer.

Monday and Tuesday-Work, night classes, dinner=leftovers from Sat/Sun.
Wednesday-Work, cleaning and dinner.
Thursday-Friday-Work, homework (including reading and creating outlines), lesser cleaning and dinner.
Saturday-Finish any remaining homework, review last week’s outline, fun, large dinner.
Sunday-Cleaning, double check homework, fun, large dinner.
Everything has to be readied the night before because I am NOT a morning person.
So coffee would be nice.
Getting all school supplies together and getting back the routine we had before the summer started. Like going to bed earlier and getting up and eating breakfast and off to school on time!
My kids are all out of school but I teach preschool so my routine consists of getting my classroom ready and trying to get to bed earlier
We homeschool, so we don’t really have any back-to-school routine other than ordering the new year’s curriculum and replenishing a few supplies.

Routine – getting the kids to bed early and making their lunches at night and making sure all there work is in their backpacks.
We pick up the essentials and two outfits a piece, then wait for school to start so that the kids have a better idea of what others are wearing.
My back to school routine is simple. My alarm is always set @ 6:50 am Mon-Sun. I always get up then if not to feed cats. Everyone else is up within 15 mins. Winter, Summer, Fall and Spring. Things go smoother this way.
Get up shower, get the kiddo fed, dressed and washed up. Stop at Starbucks and drop her at the bus. Off to work!!
Thanks for the chance.

We get up about 7:15 or so, get the kids up and make sure they get dressed and brush teeth while I make a quick breakfast, then hopefully have a little TV time to chill before getting out to the busstop about 8:20 or so. Easy peasy!

Back in the day, the drill was that backpacks were turned over to me when they entered the door. They then headed to their snacks at the table, and I went through backpacks and signed and replaced papers. Keeping out material for assignments or homework. Some chatter during snack time, then time to tackle homework while I finished up dinner. When they finished they usually headed to their rooms, then back to the kitchen for dinner.

My back to school routine is a big sigh of relief, a donut and some coffee once they are on that school bus and on their way!
Make breakfast for the family, get lunch ready, wash dishes, ,wake everyone up, eat breakfast, get ready, take something out to cook for dinner in the evening.
Back to school routine is going to bed earlier and getting up earlier.
buying a cute top and jeans is my routine

Our routine varies but not by much:
I get up at 5 am (have my coffee) get the oldest off to swim practice (with breakfast), have more coffee, at 5:45 get the youngest up & make her breakfast, have more coffee, get youngest on bus at 6:45, have last cup of coffee, workout, then on computer to take care of business emails.
My back-to-school routine breaks down like this: getting up earlier, going to bed later and taking a nap sometime in between!
Get up at 6:15am, out the door by 7:05am, drop off at 3 schools completed about 7:40am
The weekend before we shop for clothes and shoes and the bare minimum of necessities like paper, pencils, etc. Then we wait 2-3 weeks to get the rest of the stuff because its all gone on clearance and I save like 75% on more clothes, backpacks, calculators and stuff! My kids don’t mind having to deal with 2 weeks of their “old stuff” because they get more and better new stuff they just need to be a little patient.
We get back in routinue by going to bed earlier and getting up earlier two weeks before school starts.
New binders and new clothes!
I don’t have a back to school routine other than to stock up on supplies for the year. Thanks!

I don’t have children in school but my morning routine does change when school is in session because of the increase in traffic – so I do have to get up earlier and take a different route to work
We lay out clothes the night before and pack lunches just before walking out the door.
My back to school routine is up to my wife who does the hard parts every morning. Thanks, Hon.

I rt the post
We shop shop and shop, with no kids actually in school yet I just take advantage of the sales that are going on LOL
Check email, wake up the kids and take out their outfits, usually pack their lunch and have them eat breakfast, drive them to school, wash dishes.
First year of Kindergarten. We’re still working on that back to school routine. 🙂

Our routine is just like yours…do all the shopping, make sure we have the right supplies, and send them off!
Drive 30 min each day to pick up nephew n take to school to help grandma out.
Our back to school routine just involves a lot of scheduling and writing everything on a calendar. We don’t have much room for pit stops or running late!
Back to school routine– we lay out clothes the night before –and get lunches ready –go to bed early and get up to a fabulous breakfast—-we plan to do this every day–but we’re lucky if it lasts the first week.
I try to have the kids get their clothes and lunches ready the night before school so they aren’t scrambling in the morning. My daughter is terrible with having a closet full of clothes and having “nothing to wear” LOL She’s such a teenager at the age 7. ….Tiffypoot @ (aol.com)

We are still trying to get the routine down. The routine so far is wake daughter up (for the 10th time), shower, dress, quick breakfast and out the door!
We started 3 weeks ago setting a bed time and made it earlier each week, so that they would be ready for the 6:30 wake up call.
My back to school routine consists of getting sleep schedules back on track, making sure we have nutricious lunches and snacks, and buying a few back-to-school clothes.
Thanks for sponsoring the contest 🙂
Our routine is,
1st:
Go through all of the clothes from last year and whatever we can not use we donate to goodwill or something like it or to friends, then we shop for new stuff and get all the school stuff we need and clean the bedrooms so they start out the year with a fresh clean room and bedding, then we start going to be early and reminding them that they are going to have to put 100% into their work and then me and dad just COUNT DOWN!!!!! YAY! SCHOOL!
I subcribe to your blog.
Our routine starts with a bowl of oatmeal and ends with waving to the school bus as it drives by before we homeschool.
Our back to school routine is not much different from summer because we school at home but we do go to bed a little earlier so everyone can get more sleep.
Our back to school routine is to start practicing a few days before school starts – we get up earlier, eat breakfast and pick out clothes. That way everyone is a little more relaxed when the big day arrives.
In our household we buy just a few basic things and whatever school supplies are required. We also take advantage of whatever super deals there are and then we wait until October to take advantage of the super sales during Columbus Day weekend and finish up then.
We lay out clothes the night before and make sure to follow their school bedtime schedule so they get a good nights sleep.

Have outfit set out in the bedroom the night before…and most of the lunch in the lunchbox (juice, yogurt, or fruit) in the fridge before adding the rest in the morning.
What routine? We are still adjusting.
We have a school bed time in place before school starts so we can make sure we have enough time in the mornings to get out the door on time. Packing backpacks and school lunches the night before helps too.

We don’t really have a back to school routine because we’re on a modified calendar. So my kids go to schoool for several weeks, stay home for a while, and start the cycle over again. So it’s not like going back is a big thing for them.

Our routine is setting the clothes out the night before and then showers in the morning, then breakfast, other than that just trying to set the bedtime back to school time
I have my kids pack up their backpacks the night before. I have their lunches ready in the frig the night before and have them get their clothes out so that they don’t need to think too much in the morning just get up, brush teeth, get dressed, eat and go
Our back to school routine includes clothes shopping, then back pack shopping (very important for the appropriate style), then school supplies. That usually is done before August…
We are very organized for a few weeks and then it gets crazy!
Alarm off at 6. Stumble into kitchen to grab that first cup of coffee waiting for me. Wake up Dev- get started on getting ready for my day- go back to wake up Dev- go back to wake up Dev- Pack Dev’s lunch and make sure she REALLY gets all the way up at 6:33. Make sure she’s got her crap together, check our schedules and coordinate who needs where when on phones- set alarms etc for pick up times while she gulps down coffee & vitamins. She rushes out door at 6:57. I am now on about my 3rd or 4th cup of coffee and then check emails etc. Boring, and usually a lot of snarling going on (we’re NOT morning people). Coffee is the ONLY thing that keeps us functioning.

Back to school is h-e-double-hockey-sticks. Here’s the ritual: Jump out of bed, knowing I’ve hit “snooze” a few times. Run through house, “nicely” trying to wake everyone and get them dressed. Make rounds again, realize only two of four kids are up. Get louder. Eventually, everyone is downstairs. Rush around, trying to pour cereal, make waffles, whatever everyone wants. Throw vitamins at each child, while signing forms, looking for homework or reports or whatever else is missing. Yell at kids to get in car. Drop two off at one school, then racing to next, barely slowing down to let them out. Go home, exhale, make coffee, sit down to decompress.

We get in the early bedtime groove a week or so before school starts, and we buy new school clothes. Then the day of we get supplies from the list that is sent home.
Get up, drink tea with caffeine, make lunches, make breakfast, wake kids, help kids dress, feed them, brush teeth and wait for the bus.
Backpacks are emptied, homework done and bags repacked and ready by the door the night before.
The End!

Our routine is getting clothes, lunch box and schedules set a little in advance to be ready
Before going to bed, prepare as much as possible for the next morning. In the morning, we take the dog for a walk, come back to eat breakfast and off to start the day.
Our back to school plan is……planning and organization. We do as much as possible the night before to make mornings go much smoother
Buy all the supplies we need several weeks to a month beforehand, then have them set out and ready to go no later than the night before school starts
My daughter has a snack when she gets home and then she does all her homework except reading. After she takes her bath at night, she lays out her clothes for the next day, and then she reads before going to sleep.

Our back to school routine is all about planning — buy what we need in advance, organize it in advance, have it ready for the trek to school before Day 1, etc.
Our back to school routine is kids to bed by 9pm, showers, dressing, breakfast and the bus stop
