You did this for me right? 🙂 I don’t really have a back to school routine.. but I do have to get up and go to work early in the morning, does that count? In which case, here goes:

    Alarm goes off
    Hit snooze
    Alarm goes off
    Hit snooze
    Alarm goes off
    Turn alarm off
    Go back to sleep
    Wake up 30 mins later..
    What? I’m late again? Sheesh!

Well, since I’m still attending college classes, my ‘back to school’ routine is getting organized, getting new notebooks, and a planner. On an average ‘school day’ I have to leave work and go to class in the evenings. It’s very stressful, so winning this would sure help 🙂 Have a great weekend.

The kids wake up, they eat breakfast, then it’s usually rushed to get dressed, brush teeth, comb hair, shoes on, and out the door… and my oldest is just in preschool! I can only imagine it’s going to get more chaotic as the other kids start school as well.

Thankfully, my mom is with me in this house to help. She gets my daughter up, takes her to school, picks her up, and helps her with her homework. I get up, check my jobs for the day (I’m a sub), drive off to work, and come home. We keep very busy!!

The school bells will be ringing soon,
And children will be taught in tune,
And now who would have thought it so,
“Mom” has a class where she will go!

    It’s Dog Class # 101,
For pup and me,each week is fun,
We are being trained just so
And there’s lots of words we’ll get to know!

This prize is great and sure would help,
To start my days… and the shirt itself
Is quite a treasure, for me to wear
and I’d bring coffee mugs full, to share!

I really do not have a routine. Normally, my mom comes over to take my son to school because I have to leave early for work. Then when I get home from work I pick him up from my moms. But for the next couple of weeks I will be getting him up and taking him to school because my mom fractured her foot and cannot drive. My sister will be picking him up from school. The one thing I will do each night though is prepare his lunch and clothes, and whatever else he needs for the following morning. Being organized really helps the mornings go much smoother for everyone. : )

I always shop during tax free weekend. I buy extra for the school supplies drive at our school. We start getting up and going to bed 2 weeks before school starts so we have the routine down. I get a desk planner and we fill in the important dates such as school functions, Dr. Appts, and after school activities. This helps us get ready the night before and we rarely forget anything.

Monday and Tuesday-Work, night classes, dinner=leftovers from Sat/Sun.
    Wednesday-Work, cleaning and dinner.
Thursday-Friday-Work, homework (including reading and creating outlines), lesser cleaning and dinner.
Saturday-Finish any remaining homework, review last week’s outline, fun, large dinner.
Sunday-Cleaning, double check homework, fun, large dinner.

Everything has to be readied the night before because I am NOT a morning person.

    So coffee would be nice.

Get up at 6, shower and apply makeup, get dressed. Wake up three kids, feed them cereal, get them dressed, walk down to bus stop, and send one of the three to kindergarten. Walk back home with younger two.

Ours is pretty simple. Have the clothes picked for the first day and then wake up to a wonderful breakfast and then on the way to school.

I’m the student in this house and I do my school work from home. My routine is to do an hour of school work in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. On Fridays I work the whole day on anything I have left.

A week before school starts I wake the kids up earlier each day so they get into the daily routine again. The weekend before school starts we go shopping for all the clothes and school supplies they might need.

I don’t really have a back to school routine other than helping with the school supplies drive at work. We collect school supplies and backpacks and split up the supplies into each backpack and give them to the families that need them the most. It is a lot of work but a lot of fun also.

The next morning I get up an hour and a half before waking them, have my coffee, check my email and cook breakfast before waking my children. Then it’s brushing teeth and hair and then it’s hugs, kisses and off to school.

Back in the day, the drill was that backpacks were turned over to me when they entered the door. They then headed to their snacks at the table, and I went through backpacks and signed and replaced papers. Keeping out material for assignments or homework. Some chatter during snack time, then time to tackle homework while I finished up dinner. When they finished they usually headed to their rooms, then back to the kitchen for dinner.

The weekend before we shop for clothes and shoes and the bare minimum of necessities like paper, pencils, etc. Then we wait 2-3 weeks to get the rest of the stuff because its all gone on clearance and I save like 75% on more clothes, backpacks, calculators and stuff! My kids don’t mind having to deal with 2 weeks of their “old stuff” because they get more and better new stuff they just need to be a little patient.

    Our routine is,
    1st:
Go through all of the clothes from last year and whatever we can not use we donate to goodwill or something like it or to friends, then we shop for new stuff and get all the school stuff we need and clean the bedrooms so they start out the year with a fresh clean room and bedding, then we start going to be early and reminding them that they are going to have to put 100% into their work and then me and dad just COUNT DOWN!!!!! YAY! SCHOOL!

Wake up Dev- get started on getting ready for my day- go back to wake up Dev- go back to wake up Dev- Pack Dev’s lunch and make sure she REALLY gets all the way up at 6:33. Make sure she’s got her crap together, check our schedules and coordinate who needs where when on phones- set alarms etc for pick up times while she gulps down coffee & vitamins. She rushes out door at 6:57. I am now on about my 3rd or 4th cup of coffee and then check emails etc. Boring, and usually a lot of snarling going on (we’re NOT morning people). Coffee is the ONLY thing that keeps us functioning.

Back to school is h-e-double-hockey-sticks. Here’s the ritual: Jump out of bed, knowing I’ve hit “snooze” a few times. Run through house, “nicely” trying to wake everyone and get them dressed. Make rounds again, realize only two of four kids are up. Get louder. Eventually, everyone is downstairs. Rush around, trying to pour cereal, make waffles, whatever everyone wants. Throw vitamins at each child, while signing forms, looking for homework or reports or whatever else is missing. Yell at kids to get in car. Drop two off at one school, then racing to next, barely slowing down to let them out. Go home, exhale, make coffee, sit down to decompress.
