What a cute pan!
I received this pan to test and I’ve been quite impressed. I have bake two things in it so far, firstly: brownies! And then a cheesecake. It is a great size too, cake mix for a 9" round would fit well, although the cake may be a little shallow.
Both of my creations baked really well. I was surprised how evenly they baked considering the point at the bottom of the heart.
One tricky thing was trying to push the brownie mix into the bottom "V" of the heart, this wasn’t a problem with the cheesecake as I was pressing the crust in by hand any way.
Something that you need to work around is that some pieces can’t be cut the same size, so you have to get creative with semi-circles and triangles. Children love this any way because they get to choose which part of the heart they get, and they enjoy the unusual shapes. Well, mine do!
With it being made out of silicone cleaning it was extremely easy. Even with the brownie where I had splashed some batter up on the edge and it had baked on…. Ok, it burnt, slightly… I just soaked it for a few minutes in warm soapy water and it wiped right off. The silicone "shrugs" off the baked food really easily, but it also can flip inside out so if you want to get into the corner it’s a dream.
You can use a heart shape pan for so many things: anniversary; birthday party; valentines day or just baking a cake for your family. You can also get creative by making 2 cakes and frost them different colours, then cut a piece out of one and place the other inside it for a cute design! I think it will even work well as a jello mold, as it will pop out so easily… I’m going to be trying this one out this summer!
Siliconezone’s flexible, high heat tolerant heart cake pan is ready for its closeup. Silicone allows for even cooking and its flexibility makes for easy, fluid de-molding of the cake from the pan and ready for decoration or frosting. Siliconezone makes a smaller version (though we will be sending you the large, fit for the family); value is just under $20, and with shipping and handling would generally be a value of around $27, or so.
