Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Movie Bucket #giveaway

September 24, 2009 by Momstart 997 Comments

“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” is currently in movie theatres and ready to be watched. It was created by Burger King and Sony Pictures. As part of the promotion, BK is supporting Feeding America, the film’s charitable partner, by promoting awareness of Feeding America’s childhood hunger initiatives and philanthropic empowerment in kids. Go BK!  We love Feeding America at Mom Start.

9-14-2009 10-30-07 AM BK’s newly revamped kids’ site, www.clubbk.com, offers kids the opportunity to become “Hunger Helpers” and rally behind the charitable organization, via a movie-themed online game where they can earn “Crowns” (the virtual currency for Club BK) and then donate them to show support for the Feeding America cause. They can also access more information about the charity and get tips on how to support local food banks all at ClubBk.com

Kids have donated more than 1 million Crowns in charitable shows of support to Feeding America only after seven days. They have just surpassed the community’s goal! How excited but the fun isn’t over. Children are still asked to go on and make contributions.

· To celebrate Club BK’s efforts toward philanthropic empowerment to kids and as a valued partner to both Feeding America and Burger King Corp., Kraft Foods is supporting Hunger Action Month with a $25,000 donation to Feeding America.

And now for the prize:

My children are helping me to show you what you will win with this promotion. BK has a movie promotion bucket to share with one lucky reader.

The bucket contains:

clip_image001

· $20 BK Crown Card to grab a bite to eat before or after the movie

· $40 movie gift card to see the film

· Full set of Club BK Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs kids toys

· Club BK’s Adventures newsletter

· Original Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs book

The full set of toys got my children and I through this afternoon. I wasn’t feeling very well so I opened all the packages and let them play with it. We also looked through the book. Not as many pictures as I was hoping for but my kids like listening to words.

I think it’s important to teach children about helping those less fortunate than themselves. Having them help out and learn while playing a fun game is a great idea.

Being kind to others and helping the less fortunate is a wonderful thing to teach your children and atarting at a very young age.
The one thing my children love to do is put money in the red bucket at christmastime. No matter how many stores we go I always take some coins out of my purse before leaving my car so that my girls can have some to give when we get there.

I think that it is very important to teach children to give of themselves. To let them see that there are others that are less fortunate and that giving not only finacially of yourself, but also giving your time is so important.
We do help out at charities and encourage our kids to do the same. This program is really a wonderful program.

So I found the kids can help Feeding America. I think:
    (1) Parents need to make their children more award of the nation’s problem (such as hunger).
    (2) Parents should help their children make changes to help causes (such as hunger).
    (3) I believe BK is going their part to help kids become socially responsible.

it’s great for kids to get involved. As long as you choose a good organization with adult supervision, it can be a great experience for the kids.

I absolutely love that BK is donating so much money to help feed families in need.
We help out a local group when we are able.
I don’t think that a lot of people realize just how much hunger happens right in our own communities.
That it is not just homeless people that are in need of food-it may be your next door neighbor whose had a bout of bad luck.
Give to your local food bank-let’s help each other out!!
My kids loved the site, too-especially the Cloudy w/Meatballs game;)
    Thank you!

I believe it is really important to teach children about the less fortunate. We need to show them that it might not take that much in life to get someone like that. I always tell my kids that I don’t want them ever saying anything about people who have less because no one knows their circumstance and it’s really nice when people help them out.

I think it’s amazing to get kids involved so young. It makes a difference not only to the people they are helping but also how they feel about themselves. I would love to win this we are so broke, we never get a chance to eat out and can’t even remember the last movie I took my daughter to see. She’s been wanting to see this so bad, if we won it would make her so very happy. Thanks for the chance!

I think it’s great. Children should learn early that there are plenty of people less fortunate than they are, and I think that helping other people makes them feel better about themselves.

My kids are a little too young to understand the idea of charity yet (is 1 too young?), but I love the idea. As soon as they are older, I plan on giving them the chance to help put together gift baskets for charity, place the donations in the bins when we donate, and certainly teach them how lucky they are to be so privileged.

I think it’s a wonderful idea to teach kids to give to charities! I believe that every bit counts and makes a difference, and now my children enjoy donating their change to different charities, it makes them feel good!
