Cinnamon Cranberry Dark Chocolate Chip Bar Cookies Recipe #BringBackBreakfast $175 Giveaway

November 25, 2013 by Momstart 292 Comments

This is a Compensated post with my own opinions and experiences.

Hungry Jack sent me some really great new waffle flavors. This included the Pumpkin Spice waffle mix and the Cinnamon Spice waffle mix. Both are really great for morning waffles. In fact, we had a slumber party a month ago and that morning we all sat at the table together eating Hungry Jack Belgium waffles. It was delicious. Not only are waffles delicious, but the mix is also great to get creative with and Hungry Jack has some really great ideas. Eating a meal together as a family is so important. And if you’re able to do more than one that’s amazing. We almost always have dinner together, or at least with one parent. Sometimes my husband has to work late and sometimes I’m out of town, but one of us always tries to sit down with them. It’s even better when we start our day together having breakfast at the table. So I wanted to suggest three ways to get together as a family in the morning.

3 Simple Ways To Bring Back Breakfast:

  • Have something quick and easy ready!

No one has extra time in the mornings so by making something that’s already ready or very quick and easy to throw together allows for everyone to have that extra time together at the table. We like to freeze any leftover waffles or pancakes we have and then they go in the toaster for a quick and tasty breakfast. Also, the bars above would make a fantastic breakfast.

  • Get the kids involved

I know it can be difficult to let the kids get involved but when they are involved then it’s easier to all be ready at the table at the same time. Have your kids pour the milk or juice. Let them set the table, just let them find a way to help.

  • Make it a routine Be Diligent!

It takes about two weeks for anything to become a routine but with practice and scheduling you can do it and family time is worth the time it takes. You have to plan and be diligent.

We can only have breakfast together a couple times a week when everyone is off work. Then we oftentimes go out to eat so we can take the time to slow down and sit down together. That way we can talk about what is going on in each other’s lives.

I actually don’t eat breakfast with my family everyday, My husband works second shift, so he doesn’t wake up until eleven, and my son is 18 months old so hes still working on chewing, so we get together on the weekend and eat a brunch!

For a weekend breakfast its eggs, pancakes or waffles. My hubby is more “partial” to pancakes but waffles will be good every now and again. Especially when he is in the mood for “maple slurpple” as it is affectionately called around here.

Will definitely be looking for these flavors since this recipe looks awesome (and just got pinned}.

We usually cannot have breakfast together. All 4 of us leave at different time. Husband leaves at 5:45; I leave at 6:30. Oldest son leaves at 7:20 and youngest son leaves at 7:40. Makes it impossible to eat breakfast together (except on weekends)
