How do you baby proof your house?
Before we had our first child our house was a disaster. We had that room that I think a lot of American families have. Throw everything in it and forget it. Well, I think a couple rooms were that room. I got pregnant, so we cleaned up one room for the nursery. Then we knew family would come and visit when she was born so we cleaned up that room.
Then the stages came: Baby can’t move so we’re ok.
She starts crawling, the floor has got to be picked up. Oh, and my knives had to be moved out of the bottom drawer. I have the best knives. They cut through bones.
Next stage: she starts lifting up, we have to clean the first shelf of everything. So the piles start stacking up.
Next stage: she is cruising, we have to protect the coffee table and the outlet. (well we did the outlets when she started crawling because they just look like something to put your toys in) At least that was going on in her mind.

But if you need something easy and quick to safeguard those outlets you might try http://www.coverplug.com/. They recently sent me a sample to try and my only complaint is what if I need to plug something in. I know they pop off super fast but if there is a spider looming over me and I need to vacuum him up then I need to be able to access that outlet FAST.
The Cover Plug works and is super easy to install so if you have outlets that need to be covered and not used it is the perfect solution. “Out of Site, Out of mind” is their motto.
Then she started walking and everything had to be cleaned. What is scary now is the fact that she is getting tall enough to reach the counter tops. So I can’t leave anything out. I see her hands reaching up and I think, ooooh she is reaching for those scissors I just used; I better put them AWAY.
