Style Meets Substance With The iCoo 3 in One Acrobat Travel System

February 26, 2016 by Beeb 15 Comments

iCoo 3 in One Acrobat Travel System
Sample provided. This post contains Amazon Associates links.

New parents usually have to resign themselves to the fact that not only will they need to haul a large amount of gear around when they have a baby, but also that those items will be clunky and not all that attractive. But what if it didn’t have to be that way? What if you could have efficient, multi-purpose equipment that not only saved space, but looked chic while doing it? Well friends, it’s time to meet the iCoo 3 in One Acrobat Travel System!

Assembling the iCoo 3 in One Acrobat Travel System

This ingenious system combines a stroller and car seat so that they work together as one seamless, multi-purpose unit that grows with your child. The quality and attention to detail is also extended to the look of the unit, which is beautiful and fashion-forward, designed to be an heirloom piece that will serve a family for years and never go out of style. There are so many features on this travel system that I’m going to break it down section by section, so that you can see each mode in action:

Stroller Mode

All smiles in the iCoo stroller!

First, let’s take a look at this product in standard stroller mode. My family was impressed with the attractive color and the fact that the material was easy to keep clean as well as being padded and very comfortable.

Kicking back with iCoo

The stroller has also been thoughtfully designed for the parent’s comfort: My cousin is quite tall, and normally finds he has to shorten his steps while pushing a stroller so that his legs don’t hit the back of it. With this iCoo system, he can walk with a full stride without kicking it, making it more pleasant for dads to use!

Taking a nap in the iCoo stroller

It also reclines easily, so your child can easily take a nap whenever they get tired.

Footmuff attachment

Perfect for a cold winter day

This comfortable footmuff attachment is much like the bottom of a sleeping bag, and can be used during these cold winter months to keep your child cozy.

Rain cover
Side view of rain shield

Another included attachment is this rain cover, which is absolutely ideal for our drizzly Pacific Northwest weather!

Car Seat Mode

iCoo Acrobat Stroller & Car Seat

Now, let’s take a look at how this stroller works with its car seat attachment.

Converting the stroller

To convert the stroller, you remove the front bar and replace it with these adapters, which the car seat locks onto.

Car seat attached to stroller

When removed from the stroller, the car seat affixes to this black car seat base, which stays permanently in your car.

Closeup of car seat affixed to stroller

This is positively genius for a number of reasons. You can first use this mode for a newborn, who will then grow into the larger stroller seat. The car seat itself is also adaptable as the child gets older. This also means that you can lift the whole car seat out of the stroller, making it much easier to bring them in and out of the car and loosen/fasten the car seat straps to secure your baby into the car without waking them up. My family was extremely impressed by this – any parent can tell you that anything you can do to make trips easier is a blessing, not to mention anything that can help your child stay asleep. Many babies are soothed to sleep by taking a drive around the block, so this is a huge asset for parents in getting their children to not only fall asleep but STAY asleep.

Stroller and car seat together with hood covering
Stroller and car seat with hood open

When combined, the stroller and car seat duo can either be covered with its hood or left open. The stroller’s front wheels can lock straight forward and, as you can see in the photo above, the back wheels have brakes to make sure the unit stays put whenever you need it to.

Final Thoughts

Although there are many parts to this system, the assembly of the unit does not require tools. It’s also surprisingly light, making it easier to move around. It can adapt to almost any situation or need with style. I can’t think of a better system for parents to grow and move just as your young family does!

Where to Purchase

You can purchase the iCoo 3 in One Acrobat Travel System from the iCoo store on Amazon and learn more about them by visiting iCoo-USA.com.

The Chicco Tre Jogging Stroller: Perfect For Parents on The Run!

September 28, 2015 by Beeb 5 Comments

Chicco Tre Jogging Stroller in Pioneer Courthouse Square

Sample provided.

My newest baby niece is due to be born this week, and we’re all excited! I knew her parents had a jogging stroller on their wishlist, so when we had the opportunity to give the Chicco Tre Jogging Stroller a test run (pun fully intended), I knew it was a solid choice. Chicco is one of those brands that comes up time and again whenever baby products are mentioned. When it comes to durability and quality, Chicco is a trusted name, so I was eager to see how their jogger would measure up.

Chicco Tre Jogging Stroller - front view

The model we received was the Radius, with stylish red and grey trim.

Chicco Tre Jogging Stroller - side view

Canopy

The Tre has a collapsible canopy – perfect for those drizzly Oregon days! – and is made from wipe-able, water repellent fabrics. It seemed clear right away that this was the ideal stroller for Portland parents, since you need something that can take on all manner of terrain and weather conditions. There’s even cupholders to put your Stumptown coffee!

Cupholders in the Tre

Wheels are an important feature on this stroller, as it is a jogger. There is a 12″ Pneumatic tire on the front with 16″ wheels on the back plus FlexCore™ suspension, which allows you to adjust the ride based on the surface and what you’re doing – whether jogging or just strolling along. The front wheel locks to give added stability for when mom or dad are running, along with a swivel lock, parking brake and deceleration brake.

Tre Jogging Stroller wheel

And of course, the Tre comes equipped with a five-point safety harness.

Five point safety harness

Once we had the stroller ready to roll, it was time to give it to its new owners! We were heading into Portland for a work project, so we met up with my sis-in-law Jaime and her husband so that we could bring her the stroller and give it a good test.

Taking the Tre out for a spin

We met up in Pioneer Courthouse Square, and the proud parents-to-be were thrilled to see the Tre! They had been wanting a jogging stroller so they would have the flexibility to walk, run, and maneuver around PDX on foot, in and out of the car, and on the MAX. As we pushed the Tre around, we were all impressed by its ease of movement. From Pioneer Courthouse Square through the sidewalks and over a parking garage, the Tre was a breeze to push.

Out and about with the Tre

Front of the Tre

On the steps of Pioneer Courthouse Square

The Tre allows you to both adjust the recline and fold the stroller with one hand, making it easier to operate for parents who will inevitably have their hands full! The stroller folds three different ways – a self-standing fold to save space while parked in your garage or hallway, a flat fold to place in the trunk of your car, and a more compact fold for longer-term storage. Jaime was able to easily fit this in her car with no problems, which I thought was pretty impressive given how much space I thought a stroller would take up.

I can’t think of a better stroller for active, urban parents than the Chicco Tre Jogging Stroller! And since the stroller accommodates children from 6 months up to 50 pounds, I know the family will be using this for years to come.

The Chicco Tre Jogging Stroller is available on ChiccoShop.com for $379.99.

The 3Dzyre Convenience Stroller: A Perfect Gift For New Parents

May 1, 2015 by Beeb Leave a Comment

3Dzyre Convenience Stroller

Product provided.

My sister-in-law is expecting her first child, and the whole family is really excited about it. I’ve already started thinking about baby shower gifts in anticipation of when our niece gets here in the autumn, and I found the perfect thing when I discovered Summer Infant’s 3Dzyre Convenience Stroller.

We’re already fans of Summer Infant because of their quality products, and when I found out they were coming out with this brand-new stroller, it seemed like the ideal gift for brand-new parents! I showed the mom-to-be Summer Infant’s website and she mentioned that she really liked the look and functionality of the 3Dzyre; and now that I’ve had a chance to check it out in person, I know she is going to love it.

Assembly

Right out of the box, I was impressed by the ease of assembling the 3Dzyre. I had Jai put it together, because assembling products drives me nuts he’s really good at it, but it was not complicated or time-consuming to set up as I had thought it might be. He popped it together right away, with no special tools required; this is perfect for tired new parents, since it’s not overwhelming to put together!

Safety

3Dzyre front view

Keeping your precious cargo safe is the most important feature on any stroller, and the 3Dzyre has a 5-point safety harness with a Velcro cover plus comfortable shoulder straps to keep baby secure.

5 point safety harness

Features & Functionality

The 3Dzyre Convenience Stroller lives up to its name with smooth, comfortable handling and a variety of handy add-ons. The stroller’s seat reclines easily via a handle on the back, and only requires one hand to operate; it’s covered by a canopy to shade baby from the sun, with a little “Peek-a-boo” window on the top that you can flip up to look down at your little one.

Peek-a-boo window

And when it comes to storage space, the 3Dzyre has plenty, from a zippered pocket on the back of the stroller to an extra large storage basket below and a coffee holder on the side.

Storage & Transportation

One thing my sister-in-law mentioned is that it would be nice to have a stroller that could fold up easily and be taken along on public transportation, for those days when it’s more convenient not to drive. The 3Dzyre knocks it out of the park in this regard: It has a light aluminum frame that weighs roughly 14 pounds, and folds up into a compact version of itself:

3Dzyre folded up

This will make it a lot easier to take around town, not to mention maximize valuable storage space at home when not in use. It also has a carrying strap built on to the side so that it can be carried on your shoulder. When it comes to convenience, I have to say that the 3Dzyre lives up to its name – and coming from a brand like Summer Infant, whose products are already trusted by the other parents in our family and have gotten tons of use, I know it’s going to be a perfect baby shower gift!

The 3Dzyre Convenience Stroller by Summer Infant retails for $139.99 and is available at Amazon and Kohl’s.

Stokke Scoot Stroller Review

Stokke Scoot

Stokke Scoot stroller provided for review.

During a recent family gathering, I brought over a Stokke Scoot stroller as a gift for my cousin, who has an 11-month-old baby. The Scoot is an “Urban” stroller with a plethora of features, including easy-to-maneuver wheels, plenty of storage space and even a cupholder; and yet, the stroller remains light and compact, easily folding up to transport during times that you don’t need to push it.

Scoot - side view

I figured my family would probably like it, and they ended up being a even more thrilled than I expected. Not only were they very impressed with all of the features, but Stokke was known to them as being a very quality stroller brand. So it ended up being an even better pick than I thought! Let me run you through a few of the features that make this such a winner:

Collapsible:

One of the worst things about having a stroller is how much space it takes up. The Stokke Scoot folds up, so you can store it with much more ease, tucking it into a corner.

Scoot collapsed

Rain Shield:

Don’t let the sunshine in these photos fool you: We live in Oregon. It rains here a lot, so I know the family will get a lot of use out of this rain shield attachment!

Rain shield side

Rain shield front

Mosquito Net:

The Scoot also includes a mosquito net attachment, so you can keep baby’s sensitive skin protected – this is a great idea, because I got eaten alive by mosquitoes a few weeks ago when I was in Alabama and I still have some bite marks! You don’t need your baby dealing with that nonsense!

Mosquito net attachment

Mosquito net - front

Adjustable:

The hood expands and contracts; the seat can be turned to face towards the rear or the front; the child can sit up, or recline back when you adjust the bottom; and the handle goes up and down. (Mom is short and dad is tall, so I’m sure that will come in handy!) You can also adjust the height of the footrest as baby grows, and move the seat up or down to sit your child at a table without having to fuss with finding a high chair.

Scoot - hood down

Stroller hood

Convenient:

When it comes to cupholders and storage, Stokke has you covered!

Stokke

Safety:

The Stokke Scoot has a five-point harness for safety, reflective touches for nighttime use, a one-step brake, and quality construction. Here is Mr. Bear demonstrating how snugly your baby can sit in the Scoot:

Mr. Bear

There was some assembly involved with this; the stroller comes with an extensive manual showing you how to put it together. The least intuitive seemed to be the rain hood, which was the attachment that we had the hardest time figuring out how to get on correctly. As far as I can see, figuring out how to put it together is the only downside to this product, but you’re going to encounter that with pretty much every baby item you buy, whether it’s a stroller or something else. In all, I’d say the Stokke Scoot is versatile, attractive, and top-of-the-line. As my aunt remarked: “This is like the Cadillac of strollers!”

Mutsy Sent me a happy new year

January 8, 2009 by Momstart 5 Comments

These strollers that Mutsy makes seem to be very sturdy. I will only buy strollers that are made for the rugged outdoors. Too many strollers that you find in the super stores have cheap plastic wheels. Cheap wheels won’t work for me. I have to have the big wheels. We live on a gravel road where the mail box is about 1/2 a mile away.

The Mutsy strollers also look to be multi functional. I love when you can use something from birth to as long as possible. My kids were both over 8 lbs when they were born. I knew they were going to be big too so I never got an infant car seat/carrier. I also never worried about the stroller. I just used towels to help them keep their heads up. However, we were looking at strollers with multiple uses.

Here is what Mutsy says on their site.

interchangeability > The quintessential stroller for today’s modern parents,
the Mutsy Urban Rider offers unparalleled flexibility for baby transport.
Featuring strikingly clean lines for an urban-chic feel, your Urban Rider
provides a full-sized, cosseting bassinet for baby and a separate,
completely
adjustable seat to use as baby grows. The car seat adaptor,
dinner tray,
babysitter, shopping basket and Funseat are available
separately. All components
can be easily interchanged.

Mutsy also makes seating. I like the style high chair they make. It is very similar to the Stokke brand which is what we purchased. The child can grow with the seat. They are also able to sit at the table. One less tray to clean when they are sitting at the table. I think they also feel closer to the family meal.

You know, I have found that as I learn about more products, I buy what I know is good. I had never seen Mutsy before blogging. I have seen Mutsy on Momdot and on a few other sites. They seem to be a great company. I don’t have first hand experience so I’m not going to pretend that I do, but if you know about all of your options for seating and strollers then you’ll find you don’t have to settle for a piece of junk. Our first stroller was not very good. We had a Jeep jogging stroller. It drove me crazy. The front wheel was locked in place so I had to lift the stroller whenever I wanted to turn. Don’t ever buy a stroller that has a locked wheel.

Oh and just a quick question, what was your first thought with the ad above?
