Muvee Reveal Review update, free trial and a #giveaway

October 2, 2009 by Momstart 272 Comments

When looking for video editing software it’s either super expensive or crap. This is not so for Muvee Reveal, I do not have a movie that I made to show you. I have had problems using the software, but the company has done everything in their power to help me.

EVERYTHING, I think it would be working for me by now if I had done their last step.

Here is my problem, I wanted to install the software on my laptop. My laptop did not meet the graphic requirements. My other option was to put it on the "family computer" which is actually MY HUSBANDS. When I was given this software, he had just gotten the computer back up after it had crashed so there was no way I was going to do anything to mess it up. Nope, not me!

I showed him the software and he said, cool let’s try it. So he is doing all of the downloading and installing, and it does go very quickly. We are also using a beta version of Windows. We are using Windows 7 which is a public beta, but not out for the public to purchase yet. So this is problem number two, and the company Muvee is helping is every step of the way to get it working, and we didn’t even purchase the software, it was given to us to review.

Their customer support is AWESOME. My husband is a man that is not easily impressed and he is very impressed. After Windows released an update we were able to create a small movie. Anything over 30 minutes though crashes. My opinion, it’s still Windows and not Muvee Reveal.

Muvee Reveal is so easy, in three steps you can have the best video picture show every. In step one you upload your photos, in step two you choose your video display theme, and in step three you upload the music. The grandparents will be in heaven when we get it working.

So that you can see some images I’m going to link to two other reviewers from the

Family Review Network.

See Karen’s review

and you should go visit

Melissa

*************That was then*****************

Now my husband has made quite a few family videos that he doesn’t want me to share on the web. I’ve even made one for my MOMS Club and what impressed them was the fact that you can include videos and pictures.

But Check out my dog, and the video is fast on purpose. My husband likes it that way.

You can download a 15-day trial on their website and if you like it the cost is just $79.95. I recommend this great program!!

It’s great for :

*create a “summer scrapbook” for distant family to see what you were up to this summer
*make the perfect back to school muvee
*create a dvd keepsake instead of sending your child off to college with photos and photo albums
*magicMoments allows you to focus in on that special moment in a video clip – whether the kiss at the wedding, your kids first homerun, babys first step – they let you highlight those moments that are the most special (they also let you “thumbs down” those clips you want skipped: a tantrum, a fall, a person you just don’t like!)
*use muvee to create video blog posts

Lemon Head – Hair Flair I can wear Giveaway

April 21, 2009 by MomStart 126 Comments

imageI’ve been the most hip mom on the block lately because I’ve been wearing LemonHead Bandeez. These patent pending hair accessories are great because they fit infants to moms. They are handmade by SAHMs. I really like them because of how well it fits in my hair and it is adjustable for my daughter. She has a larger head than most two year olds so finding something for her to wear comfortably is difficult. These ribbon headbands stay in your hair because of the Velcro on the top and it doesn’t make my head itch and because of the toggle device at the end of the ribbons. They are great non-slip headbands.

My daughter has been wearing the Silk Flower clipeez in Silk Flowersher hair in addition to the bandeez. She drives me nuts sometimes though. She’ll wear her accessories and then just suddenly decide to pull them out and put them wherever so keeping up with them is a bit difficult but I think most moms struggle with this and their daughters. They stay in place though. For the price and quality these are very great. You can purchase them for 6.00 to 10.00 dollars.

You can win one of each, one headband and one hair clip.

BabyHuman Play and Learn Spoon

March 31, 2009 by MomStart 2 Comments

Thanks to the Family Review Network I was able to review the Baby Human Play and Learn spoon.

To do my review I wanted to show you the video of him using it. He actually learned how to hold a spoon thanks to this spoon. He also started to understand the motion of carrying the spoon to his mouth. So he was able to learn from it.

I found it to be more of a chew toy for him than a spoon. He did learn, but I don’t like messes and it was way to easy for him to turn it and spill the food all over him. He did much better with the Gerber spoons that have the thick handles on them.

The Play and Learn spoon has made a very good chew toy though. I like letting both of my kids play with them. Even my two year old likes to play pretend with it and chew on it.

Windex Outdoor Giveaway

March 23, 2009 by Momstart 189 Comments

I hate cleaning windows. Especially cleaning my outdoor windows. In fact, it’s a special job done only when absolutely needed. Well just recently I was told…

“Louise, you need to clean these windows”… and no it wasn’t my husband. He would just clean them if he thought they needed to be cleaned. I really wanted to try this when it was offered as a review opportunity.

windexThe Windex Outdoor All in One starter pack arrived on our door step. I opened it up, snapped it together and read the directions. I don’t usually read the directions with cleaning products, but I was extremely surprised that the cleaning pad was dry. The directions said to spray the window with the water hose and wipe with the pad. The pad is good for 20 windows. I only have eight.

I am always surprised when something says it is going to be streak free and then it actually is. Windex does not disappoint. Not to mention, I was easily and safely able to reach all of my windows. For those of you that have higher windows, you can get extension poles that will easily attach to the Windex outdoor all in one. I have one of these poles from when I painted the ceiling.

You can win one starter pack.

Clorox Canister Contest

March 23, 2009 by Momstart 150 Comments

When The Family Review Network offered me the chance to review the new

Clorox Disinfecting Wipes Decor Canisters, I jumped at the chance. The Clorox brand of wipes is my favorite because of the canister. The Lysol one always gets clogged and my wipes get stuck. I get so mad every time I use Lysol that I don’t think it worth getting them even if they are on sale. I would rather spend more on Clorox than on the cranky Lysol wipes.

In my house, we have the Mr. Yuck sticker on all of our chemicals. So when my daughter wanted to play with the new container I had to tell her that even though something is pretty, it can still be yuck. So she knows the Clorox container is yuck.

They smell nice too. They seem to have a nice fresh scent instead of a bleach smell. We keep all of our cleaning products locked under the sink for safety and because of how terrible cleaning containers look. Even the older Clorox container was a big bright yellow thing that my husband would constantly remind me to put away.

So now, I have the convenience of having the wipes right out on the counter, available for use whenever I need them and I need them often.

I mean, look at the pictures, which one would you rather have on your counter?

A: cwipes

or B:canwipes

Beautify Your Heart Campaign

February 18, 2009 by Momstart Leave a Comment

Heart Health is so important. Women and men both need to think about taking care of their hearts. Exercising, healthy diet, and check ups with your doctor can prevent heart attacks. My father is really healthy and the last time he went to the doctor he was told to start taking an aspirin every day. I hope that he follows his doctor’s advice. Bayer is one of the participating sponsors in the Beautify your heart campaign.

February 6th was the big wear red day in honor of heart health. I forgot to wear red. My husband came home that day and asked me if I wore red, I didn’t. He didn’t either he was just reminding me. Taking care of children and not leaving the house makes me forget what day it is. I can’t believe February is almost over can you?

Cholesterol screening is very important as well. Which leads to a healthier heart. My husband had high cholesterol as a child so we watch cholesterol in my family. He no longer has high cholesterol except maybe around Christmas but we did not have any egg nog like we usually do. We both love it (not good for your heart though, or your waist). I was recently tested because I carried two children back to back and they want to make sure you are healthy enough to do that. I watch what a serve for dinner. My kids eat tons of cheerios. They don’t get a lot of sweet stuff or fatty food so I think we are on the right track for staying healthy.

Metamucil is another sponsor for the Beautify Your Heart. They have formed an on-line community where people can seek support and more information about how to take care of your heart. They are also offering free samples for you to try of their new flavors. I still found it to be a little gritty, but I’m not entirely sure I stirred it well enough. I just wanted to drink it. I did enjoy the taste. I have tried the pink lemonade, I still have the berry burst sample to try.

I’m really proud to be a part of the Family Review Network and getting to know about wonderful campaigns like the Beautify Your Heart Campaign. Taking care of ourselves and our families is invaluable. You can’t put a price tag on how precious life is. Early screening, for your heart and cholesterol is a must.

Skin MD – winners and A New Giveaway

December 29, 2008 by Momstart 54 Comments

For my last review I gave away three samples Number 1, 7, and 8. If you won I sent you an e-mail or left a comment on your blog. I’ll give you a while to get back to me because it is the holidays. I was contacted by Family Review Network right after I posted and they are offering one to giveaway in conjunction with Skin MD. A Whole bottle of a wonderful skin care product, one bottle is worth 25.00!

All I have to do for my readers is to post my review again with a few additions. Well, you guys are worth that. 🙂

I love testing new products. I have received a new lotion to try from Skin MD. They have recently come out with a shielding lotion that has SPF 15. I’m so excited by this. Not only is it a lotion that I can use on my sensitive skin but it has SPF. You should never go outdoors with out sunblock on. Especially if you have fair skin like me. Update, it’s still keeping my hands from getting dry.

I have very sensitive skin and it is dry during the winter time. I also have some weird unexplained allergy to some chemical. I haven’t been tested so I have no idea what it is. I thought it was dust because every time I clean I get this itchy red skin. But it doesn’t happen if I just run my hand through a dusty shelf.

Well, after reading about chemicals in products and how they affect people I began to realize it could be the chemicals. I recently tried Vaseline’s New lotion line and it made my skin incredibly itchy. I had to run my hands under cold water for ten minutes before they stopped itching.

Well, Skin MD does not make me itch and I like the smell of it. My daughter who is 23 months old likes the smell of it as well. She does what every she can to try and get to the bottle. She loves to put on lotion, but she wants to lick it off too.

I also recently tested some lotion from Bath and Body works, MySurvey, can’t share the details, but the smell was so strong it made me sick. My husband also complained about the smell. With Skin MD he didn’t even realize I was testing a new lotion type.

My daughter has Eczema sometimes and recently has broken out with a rash under her neck. I put some of this lotion on her and her neck stopped bothering her. I’m not claiming it as a miracle cure for Eczema. My daughter has very mild Eczema and only occasionally.

What Is A Shielding Lotion? You can click on the link for their definition, but this is my take on it. Shielding lotion is a lotion that will keep in good oils and natural things that your body makes and keeps irritants and chemicals out. This is good for people like me with an allergy.

Do you want to try it?
