My daughter had a very interesting home work assignment last week. She had to make a Leprechaun trap for school. Apparently, the 1st grade teachers have a problem over the weekend before St. Patrick’s day with pesky Leprechauns. They ransack the classrooms and make a huge mess looking for gold. The teachers tasked the children with making traps and this is what my creative daughter thought of. She filled a box with fake gold, purple and green coins (Mardi Gras plastic coins we received from CelebrateExpress.com)

This TOMS Shoe box was perfect because the way the lid worked. When we placed the box upside-down and gently left the lid open as you can see in the photo above, once the Leprechaun enters the box it closes behind him.She filled the box with all the coins and then she covered the box in yellow construction paper. She wanted the box to look like a pot of gold se he would be interested in her box. She even drew on the construction paper for an added effect.
