Vionic invited me to a fun party and provided me with slippers. Please consult with a doctor before treating any orthopedic issues.
Although I have recovered from my knee injury, I still haven’t branched out from the orthopedic shoes that were a must at that time. I used to live in heels, and I miss being able to mix and match shoes terribly, but I want to ease back into heels carefully and build up more muscle strength to support my kneecaps before I put unnecessary strain on them. Plus, there is no way I could possibly wear heels to work functions or while traveling – it would wrench my back and feet even if my knees never had an issue! So, I’ve stuck to the same comfortable black flats and ugly sneakers. Boooooring!!
So when I was invited to a fun party hosted by Vionic in San Jose, I attended with much interest, since they offer orthopedic shoes that are designed to put the “Fun” in functional! We were treated to tasty appetizers, slipper-themed cocktails (Cozy Sipper, anyone?), and got our nails done while we checked out some of the samples from their line.
We also got to pick out a special pair of slippers to take home with us. I was drawn to the Relax Luxe Slipper:
There are two main reasons why I love this slipper. First of all, looks like something Jayne Mansfield would lounge around the house in – SO GLAM! Second of all, it’s got orthopedic comfort. YES! I hate that I am often forced to choose between looks or functionality. Thanks to these Vionic slippers, I don’t have to choose. I love the print and big, sparkly accent on the side! I’ve been wearing them around the house almost every day for two weeks – yes, I am wearing them right now – and here’s what I’ve noticed:
- Comfort: These slippers are completely comfortable – I like the design of the arch and how it wears.
- Coolness: I’m not just talking about style here, but literal coolness. Having an open toe on these makes them ventilated and breathable for summer, which is great for me because I wear slippers year-round but get overheated easily.
- Heel: These have a solid heel on the bottom, so you can wear them for quick jaunts outside to get the mail, etc.
- GLAM! I hate “Frumpy” houseclothes. I love that I can be glam in my PJs without having to risk my kneecaps by wearing marabou heels or something!
The Relax Luxe Slipper retails for $69.95 and is available on VionicShoes.com. They get a big thumbs-up from me!
