You all must know by now that I have a very soft spot for Sara Lee and the products they make. Even before I started blogging, one of the brands we purchase from most often for food products has been Sara Lee. They make bakery products, frozen desserts, Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farms, not to mention Ball Park, my husband’s all time favorite hot dog brand. Actually, the whole family enjoys Ball Park all beef franks. YUM!
I’ve heard that you haven’t had a hot dog until you’ve had one in New York, well, I went to New York and somehow I missed out. Ball Park Franks is helping make it easier for hot dog lovers to indulge in the authentic New York deli taste right from their own backyard with the launch of their NEW Deli Style Beef Franks!
The Ball Park Deli Style Beef Franks contain great tasting, high quality beef with no artificial colors, no artificial flavors, no by-products and no MSG added. Available in two varieties, Ball Park Deli Style Beef Franks and Ball Park Bun Size Deli Style Beef Franks, they make for a quick and easy meal option for the entire family – whether they’re grilled, boiled, microwaved or steamed.
Ball Park also asked for grilling tips from bloggers like me. So if you’re planning on grilling this summer, and most red blooded Americans do at least once here are some really great grilling tips:
Here are your blogger approved grilling tips:
• When grilling fruit make sure to use the cooler parts of the grill – fruit does best with a lower temperature.
– Louise Bishop from Mom Start
• Use an onion cut in half to clean your grill. Heat up the grill, hold the onion by the “stem” and then rub the onion all over the grates.
– Courtney Solstad from My Crazy Savings
• No topping is too unique for a hot dog. After grilling the franks, place them in a bun and top them with some of my favorite items (not necessarily together!): Crumbled Potato Chips, French Fries, Bacon Crumbles and Chili.
– Tésa Nicolanti from 2 Wired 2 Tired
• Make sure you turn your hot dogs over on all sides equally and once you see a bit of blistering on the outside that means the hot dogs are grilled enough to eat.
– Melissa Chapman from The Staten Island Family
• I love this grilled vegetable recipe! Thinly slice peeled potatoes and onions and place on the center of a piece of foil. Add a few tabs of butter, kosher salt, cracked black pepper, and anything else you like, such as chunks of bell peppers or crushed garlic. Wrap into a package and toss on the grill for smoky, delicious potatoes!
– Angela Williamson from Fab Find Foodie
Ball Park Franks is hosting a “Grilling Days of Summer” Sweepstakes for Ball Park Facebook fans to have the chance to win the ultimate 4th of July Bash by sharing a photo of their family and friends grilling out and enjoying the warm weather along with a caption about how they celebrate the summer.

This giveaway ends June 20th. All rules can be found under giveaway rules.
my grilling tip is to turn your grill on and let it heat up, then wipe down the racks with dry paper towels to clean them and then dampen another paper towel with veg oil and wipe the racks to keep things from sticking
My grilling tip is that if you have the grill open and looking, it’s not cooking.
my grilling tip is to try all kinds of veggies besides corn like zucchini – it’s delicious on the grill. We’ve done fish as well and that’s great too.

A tip from me would be, when marinating your meat – make sure the marinade is completely absorbed and if not make sure to pat it a little with a paper towel before placing on the grill. This will prevent any flareups from occurring.

my tip is clean the grill well between uses
Grilling tip mince garlic and onion mixed with groundbeef to make a moist burger oof the grill
Get the grill nice and hot before putting the meat on-especially with chicken- grill each side for about a minute then turn the grill down- it really locks in the juices and the meat stays tender.

Mine is to let my husband to the grilling LOL. I’m horrible at it.
When using charcoal, to lower the temperature spread the coals or pile the coals together to increase the temperature.
My grilling tip is to try different marinades on chicken and steak. I like to put the meat in a ziplock plastic bag and marinate for several hours.
Thanks!

Before you grill your meat set it out for an hour. It gets the meat ready to be ‘warmed’ cooked. Just make sure that your not leaving it there for hours, you’ll have some very unhappy grilling fans!
Another tip is to make sure you season/marinate your meat with something even if it is just salt & pepper!
Thaks for the opportunity & happy grilling:)
My husband always grills. I can never seem to get it right!!
spray with a non stick spray -makes for easy cleaning
My tip is let an expert do the grilling – I stick to the eating part!
My tip is use foil! Easier clean up and it keeps things moist
delicate food I either wrap in foil or use a wired grate on top of thge grill
Thank you for hosting this giveaway

clean grill with half an onion instead of nasty chemicals- it also seasons the grill-
My tip is that I let the meat marinate in whatever im putting on it before it goes on the grilll

Don’t pierce the meat or keep turning it. Dry off meat with paper towels and salt on all sides before grilling.
We use alot of Pam for grilling.

try grilling foods with a little bit of bacon fat, adds alot of flavor!!! we LOVE it on corn on the cob
I don’t really know how to grill (I cook hotdogs in the oven) so my tip is to ask my husband what to do 🙂
My grilling tip is actually to share the grilling duties. I prep the food during the day and then Hubby is happy to go outside and do the actual cooking when he gets home from work. I try to plan for all the parts of the dinner to be cooked on the grill so no cooking inside for me.
Love Ball Franks and hope to win !!

Spray your grill with pam so nothing sticks.
Thanks for the chance.

I am probably the last person to ask for a grilling tip, as I like my hot dogs grilled until they are a little burnt or crispy. But if you have leftover grilled dogs, they are great cut into chunks and put into Van De Kamp’s Pork N’ Beans and then served the next night with the leftover potato salad.
My tip is to grill often
My grilling tip is not to overcook the meat or undercook it. Use a meat thermometer to gauge for well done, medium rare, etc.
my tip is let somebody else do the grilling if there good at it , im not
im a email subscriber
im a facebook fan
Try cooking it slow, and we love adding brown sugar to pork chops on the grill. YUMMY!

My tip would be to keep food from sticking rub the grill with vegetable oil or non-stick cooking spray.
When grilling kabobs, try to make the chunks of meats and veggies around the same size. That way everything on the stick will be ready at the same time. Or, do each item separately like all bell peppers on one, all mushrooms on another.

good luck to everyone
Keep a spray bottle of water handy in case the juices from the meat cause flaming.
My tip is to not get into a hurry….take your time, and cook slowly. grammypenny@frontier.com
my grilling tip is to let my hubby do it!
My tip is to stay away from it–I leave that to my grandson, who loves to grill almost anything!

quite honestly I don’t have any significant grilling tips because my husband does all the grilling…i am leery of fire….we do like to marinade our chicken though in Italian dressing thanks
My tip is to always grill fruits and veggies along with your meat as well to ensure a great balanced meal
My tip is to make sure that the grill is heated up before you put the food on it
hmm thats a hard one. i always make my hubby do the grilling so that is my tip make your hubby do it. men grill better most of time.
My best and most relaxing grilling tip is to send your husband out to the grill and he will do all the grilling while you can stay inside and relax…
I had a hard time grilling steaks and burgers if some were well-done or some medium, etc. So I got a temperature prod and its made life so much easier!

If you are having a group people over that you KNOW like their meat cooked differently (rare, medium, etc.), your best bet is to get a London Broil or 2. Instead having to cook and tend to a bunch of different items, a london broil will provide you with meat that comes out so that EVERY one will be happy! The pieces towards the end will be well to medium well and the pieces in the center will be more medium-rare to rare!
Oh, and don’t forget to marinate it overnight in your favorite marinade! Not only does it enhance the flavor, but it will come out more tender as well!
always coat your grill cooking surface with oil to prevent foods from sticky
con5459(at)gmail(dot)com
tip- have everything you need already out by the grill and handy will save your sanity and running trips to the kitchen
i do not grill, my grilling tip is to get your husband to do the grilling, it’s hot out there, i do all the inside prep and bring him the cold beer!
keep a small spray bottle with water handy to put out any flare ups.
t.inbox@yahoo.com
I do not really have any really good grilling tips bc my husband does all the grilling. I do prepare the food most of the time though. I find marinating meat over night makes a huge deal when cooked on the grill.
My tip is to take your time, no high heat to avoid flare ups.
I sometimes bake inside first the meat to make sure it really gets grilled thourghly
http://twitter.com/#!/SCMOMOF2BOYS/status/82947267132276736
My boyfriend always does the grilling. My tip would be to not forget to grill veggies too. Corn, zucchini and onions are awesome on the grill.
juleemm2003 at yahoo dot com
My tip is remember never to put forzen of semi-frozen food on the grill. The odds are if it’s any kind of meat it 1.won’t cook all the way through and 2. It will have to be cooked longer which will dry out the meat.
chipper101(at)hotmail(dot)com
Don’t walk away from the grill for an extended period of time.
always start with a clean grill
jagar0047 at yahoo dot com
Spray the grates with cooking spray so that the food doesn’t stick.
My best grilling tip is to grill slow over medium heat.
i put foil on top of the grates for easier clean up.
When grilling fish, slice lemon thin, place fish on top of the lemon and wrap in foil.
My tip is to spray the grill with non-stick cooking spray before you turn it on or light it..the food comes off easily and it’s also easier to clean!
Use a meat thermometer for perfectly done meats.

My grilling tip is to pay attention to what you’re cooking and not get distracted by other things.
