The Odd Life of Timothy Green – Interview with Cameron ‘CJ’ Adams
When you look at the cast of The Odd Life of Timothy Green, some names stand out as familiar favorites and have a long list of accolades when you look them up online. There is one newcomer to the group though – Cameron “CJ” Adams. While his online bio may be small right now, I think this young actor has got big things ahead of him!
Yesterday, I was lucky to have the chance to phone in on an interview with CJ Adams. CJ plays the role of Timothy Green in Disney’s The Odd Life of Timothy Green coming to theatres August 15. CJ does an amazing job playing a character that is so abstract in it’s being, yet so amazingly concrete in it’s design. It is definitely amazing that CJ, a 12 year old with only 1 other film in his repertoire, was able to handle such a diverse and powerful character. He did though, and he did an AMAZING job!
According to CJ, his favorite part of playing Timothy, “was just being such a sweet boy. (I) just liked to play someone who was different and unique.” I think after that answer, everyone on the call had already decided CJ, much like Timothy was just that – a sweet boy! “(What’s) most important is treating people the way that you want them to treat you,” CJ continued in a different answer. Such a great message!
Coming from a movie filled with so many value oriented messages, it was interesting to hear what CJ thought the takeaway should be for adults. “You should always take care of your kids and always have their back rather than always… be on their case, you know?” While I do agree, it’s funny to see that in all of the serious answers, he is still very much a 12 year old boy. Unfortunately for this boy, filming scenes like the mud scene (which you may recognize from trailers) wasn’t as much fun as it sounded. ”You know, every kid wants to get all dirty and stuff, but it actually wasn’t that fun for me… we were filming in a thirty-two degree garage… it was so uncomfortable!”
For all of the movie fans out there who are wondering what CJ likes in a movie, “My favorite movie other that the Odd Life of Timothy Green is The Avengers… it is so well done,” Cameron said. “My favorite Avenger would have to be… probably the bad guy because he can duplicate himself.”
It seems like Cameron Adams (CJ) is a new to Hollywood child actor with his feet firmly planted, no play to Timothy Green intended, but definitely works! It’s great to see such a real kid in Hollywood playing such amazing roles.
“I want kids to learn that no matter how the person (is), who the person is, and/or how they act – like a bully or anything- I want you to treat them the exact same.” Such kind words to hear from such a sweet boy.
Make sure you go see CJ’s amazing work in The Odd Life of Timothy Green opening in theatres on August 15.
Thanks to CJ for your time! I hope you had a great time at your first premier! And of course a big thanks to Disney for setting up a great interview!
