I’m working with the Motherhood and Best Buy to tell you about their Geek Squad. Geek Squad is perfect for anyone that needs help with their computers. When you purchase a Geek Squad Tech Support service plan you are entitled to quite a few different services. Such as:
I wanted to get a service to help my grandmother. If I lived close to her I would be her constant tech support but I’m miles and miles away so I can’t be there when she has a question, but The Geek Squad is. She needed some files off of her computer, and she needed a new computer. Her computer crashed as computers do, but sometimes when a computer dies the hard drive is still intact and the data can be transferred. It’s even possible to recover data from crashed hard drives, it just takes special skills. My grandmother has done extensive genealogy research, She’s written about six books that go back as far as she could possible go, you know you reach a point in history where things weren’t written down or the records just didn’t survive the years. So losing this data was not a possibility. NOPE, Nada, couldn’t let it happen.
Geek Squad Tech Support is a subscription-based service to help keep your PC, Mac or tablet running like the day you bought it. Subscribers to Geek Squad Tech Support get unlimited in-store, online and phone support. Common support issues include virus removal, full diagnostics and repair of operating system and software issues.
My grandmother was easily able to call up the Geek Squad and tell them what was going on. She went into the store and worked with them to get a new computer, I think she ended up with a few things she didn’t need or want but she’s so happy she has a new computer and is actually happy to learn how to use it. I know the older you get the harder change is, but she’s a smart cookie and up to the challenge. While they helped her get a new computer they set it up completely for her and they also transferred her files. Oh I was so happy to hear that they were able to help her out. I couldn’t imagine retyping all that data. Plus, even though she’s already been helped she can ask questions anytime. Agents answer questions 24/7 Whenever and Wherever. She did have them come into her home and she was quite happy with the service, she just doesn’t like to do that because it’s 49.99 a visit.
Here are ways you can get in touch with them:
In Store – Find a Geek Squad Precinct.
On the Phone – Dial 1-800-GEEKSQUAD (1-800-433-5778).
In-Home – Receive support from an Agent in the comfort of your home ($49.99/visit).
This is a compensated post working with The Motherhood.
