Spring has sprung here in the Pacific Northwest, and in fact, it has been one of the coldest and rainiest that I can remember! Lucky for us, Juniper has been keeping warm and dry with her Floral Fisherman’s Winter Coat from Jojo Maman Bebe.
With a delightful floral print and super cozy fleece lining, this coat has been our go-to all winter long. Not only is the style adorable, this coat really has all the features you want for a versatile coat, such as waterproof exterior, hood, storm flap, and machine washable!
We also received these adorable Wellie Rain Boots. These are still a little bit big for Juniper, but will fit perfectly by the time the next rainy season comes. Constructed of super-soft rubber and lined with moisture-wicking cotton lining, these boots will provide all day comfort for maximum puddle-splashability 🙂 Offered in a wide variety of fun prints, you’re sure to find one that you like for your little one.
Impeccable detailing and thoughtful design is something I have come to expect from Jojo Maman Bebe, and they sure don’t disappoint with either of these items!

I’ve been a fan of 7 A.M. Enfant’s stylish and durable products for children ever since I had the opportunity to try some of their infant outerwear in 2015.
As we ring in the new year, my husband and I like to discuss a few resolutions we’d like to incorporate, or things to work on, in the coming year. One of mine is to get outside more. Although this isn’t a novel resolution, if you live in the Pacific Northwest like I do, the weather this time of year can sometimes dissuade even the most dedicated of outdoor enthusiasts. Heck, if you’ve been around here the last few weeks, you’d know why the option of staying inside with a good book has been most appealing! Brrrrr, to say the least.
All this to say that sometimes it’s difficult to get out of the house when you have to do some serious bundling. Add to the mix a spirited toddler who likes to say the word, “hat”, but refuses to keep one on her head. “Boots” is also another favorite word, but alas, not an accessory she’s willing to wear for very long. The Blanket 212 Evolution from 7 A.M. Enfant makes bundling my toddler SO easy!
As long as I can remember, Christmas has been my favorite holiday. I’m sure I share this sentiment with many, old and young alike. Some of my favorite memories include helping my mom unpack our many boxes of holiday decorations, and getting dressed up in festive wear for Christmas Eve with our family. A scrumptious meal, singing carols around the piano, going to candlelight church service, and of course, opening gifts. The whole season seemed to me a bit magical, and that still holds true to this day.
Since becoming a mother, I have often thought about how I can ignite the spirit of magic and build holiday traditions that our daughter will always remember.
I was so excited to see the Christmas Lookbook from JoJo Maman Bebé this year because my daughter is now at an age to be excited about the holidays, and since she’s now walking, she’s ready for her first real Christmas dress!
JoJo Maman Bebé is a well-known (and loved) UK brand for Maternity, Baby & Child. Just in time for Holiday shopping and festivities, they’re now available in the U.S!
We received the Smocked Cord Party Dress and Patterned Tights as well as the Robin Fair Isle Cardigan. These pieces are just the sweetest, seriously. The body of the dress is made from a beautiful, scarlet-colored, small wale corduroy. Details include a white cotton Peter Pan collar with a delicate scallop trim, and embroidered diamond pattern across the bodice. The tights are a comfortable medium-weight knit, and have grippers on the feet, which is great for early walkers, like Juniper.
The Fair Isle Cardigan is an ultra-soft, washable, cashmere blend with a classic round collar and fair isle style pattern showing plump little winter birds.
Of course, I love that it’s washable, but it’s also super cozy! I kinda wish they carried this sweater in adult sizes… We had a wonderful day recently playing in the Fall leaves, and Juniper stayed nice and toasty with her sweater on.
I absolutely love the timeless quality of these pieces. They are truly so thoughtfully designed and well-constructed, with wonderful attention to detail.
Not only does JoJo Maman Bebé have high-quality clothing for Moms and children, they also carry a selection of wonderfully imaginative toys and accessories. Since Juniper started walking about a week before her 1st birthday, we were looking for a “walker” toy that she could use to improve her balance and coordination with her new skill. We received the Pretty Floral Push-Along Doll Pram, and it has been great- It’s stable and sturdy, and awesome as an early-walker toy.
The pram itself is super easy to put together- I love the simple and whimsical design, and again, the quality is excellent. This is not at all a flimsy piece like some plastic strollers / walkers I’ve looked at. This is definitely sturdy enough to last through years of play, and the rubberized wheel treads are also nice to my wood floors. Juniper loves taking care of her stuffed animals and baby dolls while pushing them around the house.
It’s the most wonderful time of year. Thank you, JoJo Maman Bebé!
It hardly seems possible that a year has passed and now I have a toddler…Whaaaa?!
You know those super-handy squeeze food pouches for kids? Well, Kiinde has developed a great system for creating those pouches yourself! The kit comes with everything you need to prepare healthy and mess-free meals on the go.
Kiinde Foodii Squeeze Snack Filling and Feeding System provides options for feeding directly from the pouch, whether your child prefers the ergonomically-designed snack spout, or the soft silicone squeeze spoon. The pouches can be recycled after use, but the spoon and spouts can be reused – they’re even dishwasher and microwave safe!
Foodii Squeeze Snack Starter Kit comes with:
– 10 Foodii Squeeze Snack Pouches (recyclable)
– 1 Foodii Filler: This is a squeezable filler cup and includes a cap

All components of the Foodii and Twist feeding systems are BPA, PVC, latex, and pthalate-free, and are designed and tested in the United States.

I’ve always had pretty sensitive skin, so Weleda products have been on my radar ever since I tried their Arnica Muscle Soak several years ago (which feels awesome, and smells amazing too, seriously). Since then, I have enjoyed their body washes and lotions, so jumped at the chance to try out their skincare for babies.
I received the Diaper Rash Cream, Body Lotion, and Face Cream, all from the new Weleda Baby Derma White Mallow collection. These products are dermatologically-proven and have even been awarded the Seal of Acceptance by the National Eczema Association. All of the products are 100% fragrance free. This is very important, as we know that fragrances in skincare products are a leading cause of skin allergies. In addition to being fragrance free, the formulas are mostly organic (the diaper rash cream has the lowest percentage at 86%, while the body lotion and face cream boast 95% and 97% respectively) and include proven skin-soothing ingredients such as White Mallow, Pansy, Sesame seed and Coconut oil; the latter two of which provide essential fatty acids to the skin and help protect the delicate moisture barrier.
Using these on my daughter, Juniper, has been great. Over the winter, she had some dry, red, patches of skin on her cheeks, as well as her calves and upper arms, and I could tell that the body lotion and face cream were welcome and soothing to her skin. We got into a routine of applying these as part of a relaxing massage, right after her bath, before bed. Within a couple of weeks, the dry patches were significantly reduced and no longer red. I even used the face cream a few times when we were traveling, when I’d forgotten my usual moisturizer. Let me just say that I loved how luxuriously rich and soothing it was, yet it never felt greasy on my skin, like a few “protective / healing” creams for sensitive skin I’ve used in the past.
The diaper rash cream has also been wonderful; the formula is creamy and spreads easily, unlike some of the really thick, difficult to spread pastes out there, while still creating the necessary layer of protection to promote healing delicate and sensitive skin.
I would definitely recommend the Weleda Baby Derma White Mallow collection to anyone, especially to those with reactive or sensitive skin. Good stuff!

At our house, we have two different styles of popular baby carrier that we received as baby gifts. I like each of them, however they feel a bit too utilitarian and structured for baby-wearing around the house. Kinda like wearing a backpack around, with lots of straps and clips; fine for hiking about outdoors, but not super comfortable when Little J and I, or she and her Dad are trying to cook dinner or do other household tasks.
For this reason, I was excited to try out a new baby wrap called Wrapy. Wrapy is one long, continuous piece of fabric (95% Cotton, 5% Spandex) that according to my husband, you “origami” around yourself and then tuck baby inside.
While it’s not exactly Origami, it does take a little bit of practice getting Wrapy
on, in particular knowing how tight to wrap the fabric so that baby will fit, but still be fully supported. As a nanny years ago, I had actually used something very similar, so I already understood how these types of carriers work. As you can see, Dad took a couple tries, but then got the hang of it too!
The material is soft, with just the right amount of stretch; it’s very comfortable to wear indoors, and actually outdoors too!
When they recently unveiled their 2016 Hot List, I knew I had to check it out.
With my maternity leave rapidly coming to an end (I start back to work next week!), I’ve been busy sorting through my clothes and accessories, pulling my professional clothes back out (no yoga pants to the office? Dang.) and ditching items that no longer fit or are just no longer practical now that I have Little J (I’m looking at you, Clutch Purse that only holds one tube of lipgloss!).
In any case, all this sorting of clothes and accessories left me wanting for a stylish bag that I could proudly carry around with me during my work day, if needed, but would also be practical for carrying baby’s necessities when we are out and about together!
Enter in the Skip Hop Studio Select Day-to-Night Diaper Satchel. You guys, unless you look inside, or know the Skip Hop brand (as many parents indeed do), you’d never know that this was a diaper bag. I mean that as an absolute compliment to Skip Hop’s designers.
No doubt Skip Hop makes many adorable and “recognizable” diaper bags, however for my dual-purpose, diaper bag-in-disguise scheme, this totally fits the bill.
First and foremost, the bag is beautiful- the exterior is high quality nylon with supple, perforated faux leather accents, and the inside is a rich plum. The nylon makes this bag very easy to clean, and the multiple pockets (including 2 insulated side pockets, which are great for bottles) make it very easy to see where things are and stay organized. As with many of their bags, this one also includes stroller straps and a portable changing mat that tuck neatly inside when not in use.
I’ll be returning to work in style thanks to this chic bag. A “Must-Have Made Better”- You’ve done it again, Skip Hop!
As a committed coffee drinker (notice I didn’t say addicted, ahem), I feel like I’ve tried pretty much all of the over-the-counter teeth whiteners to help reduce the mild stains I’ve acquired from my coffee commitment.
From strips, to brush-on gels, to trays, I’ve tried them all; and you know what? The whitening was minimal at best and caused so much sensitivity that I gave up. As you can see from the pile of gel tubes and trays (my most recent effort, over a year ago!), I got through about half of one tube before resigning myself to having mildly stained teeth forever because not only did the gel irritate my gums, and make my teeth hypersensitive, the trays were a pain in the you-know-what and you had to keep them in for 30 minutes!! Ain’t nobody got time for that.
When I heard about Smart Ash, I was intrigued. An all-natural tooth whitening powder that contains no chemicals (so it’s actually good for your teeth), and won’t cause sensitivity? I definitely wanted to give it a try.
The Bedrock & Bloom website warns you that a little of this stuff goes a long way, and that is very true. I’ve been using this twice a day for about a week and a couple of times I’ve accidentally dipped my toothbrush a little too far into the jar. It’s not like more will hurt you or anything, just that (as they also warn on the website) it can get messy. Helllooooo Pirate Teeth! For children (or maybe even my husband, for that matter) I would recommend having them use this in the bathtub or shower, where it’s easier to clean if the powder goes astray.
The super-fine, pitch black powder is made of Wildcrafted Activated Coconut Shell Charcoal, All Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay, Organic Mint, Organic Orange Peel, and Organic Frankincense. All these ingredients support oral health by drawing out toxins, strengthening teeth, freshening breath, and reducing inflammation – for the full description of each ingredient, check out the website here.
It’s weird- the powder isn’t abrasive at all, like I was expecting it to be. Since i’ve only been using this a week, I haven’t noticed a huge difference in the color of my teeth. They do seem brighter, but it’s hard to tell if that’s just because they don’t have the black ash in them 😉 One thing I can say for sure though, is that I haven’t experienced any tooth sensitivity, and my teeth do feel dentist-clean; I don’t even get that feeling from my sonic toothbrush! I’ll definitely keep using this product.
