My family and I go to church almost every Sunday, we didn’t always attend church so regularly. Growing up, I went to church every Sunday no matter what. Even when my parents were divorced, my dad would pick me up from my moms house just to take me to church with him then he would take me back to my moms. I hated going to church but he instilled in me this idea that you have to go to church every Sunday. My husband and I went to church every Sunday as long as we had a church we liked but after a while we found something wrong with the church and we became church shoppers. We couldn’t find a church that was just right for us. And after I had Zoe we stopped going all together. Things happened in our life, we moved to a new house and….
God called us back to church and that church happens to be in walking distance from our house.
It’s a church I love going to, it’s a church that’s become my family. The head pastor there, Pastor Phil has a speaking gift like I’ve never seen before. He presents the bible in a modern way. It’s applicable to our life now. Every Sunday I felt like he was speaking directly to me, and when I listen to the people around me, I hear them saying the same thing. I’ve overheard conversations of people going up to him after the sermon on Sundays and they said, WOW, how did you know I needed to hear that. It’s an amazing church and you need to check it out, if you live in the Seattle area. It’s Evergreen Community Church, emphasis on the Community because that’s who we are. I think it should be called Evergreen Family Church.
This Sunday is Easter
Did You know?
1. 82% of unchurched people will attend church this Sunday if you ask.
2. Easter Sunday is by far the one day of the year unchurched people will attend church.
3. But get this last fact: only 2% of church goers, nationwide, ask an unchurched friend to church any time during the year.
Consider yourself invited to my church this week. See you there!
Here’s a link to an online invitation you can send to your friends.
Here’s a map so you and your friends can find Evergreen.
How nice! We attend to, but sometimes life does get in the way.
We attend. But I never really thought to ask someone to attend with us. Thanks for the post.
I didn’t grow up attending church, nor did we attend church once my husband and I started a family. I don’t really feel like I’m missing out on anything, but I don’t think differently of those that do attend church. More power to you! 🙂 I hope you enjoy the Easter services!
