I am a huge fan of Mexican food and my birthday is the day after Cinco De Mayo which I love because everyone is in the mood to eat my favorite food on my birthday. Salsa, beans, chicken, pork, it can all be turned into great food. I received this recipe from Blendtec, (of Will It Blend fame) are a blender and food processor rolled into one. I love using a blender and a food processor when cooking.
Easy Salsa Recipe
Serve this slightly chunky salsa with homemade baked tortilla chips. To move this mild salsa up on the Scoville scale, add a little cayenne pepper or fresh jalapeños.
Ingredients
4 oz canned green chilies, not drained
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 clove garlic, quartered
1⁄2 tsp kosher salt
1⁄4 tsp ground cumin
141⁄2 oz can diced tomatoes, not drained
2 tbsp onion
1⁄4 c fresh cilantro leaves
Instructions
Add green chilies, lime juice, garlic, salt, and cumin to FourSide jar and secure lid. Press "Pulse" 3–5 times. Add tomatoes, onion, and cilantro. Secure lid and "Pulse" 3–5 times.
Looks yummy! Mexican food is my favorite! I have never made homemade salsa before but this looks pretty easy.
I usually wait for homemade salsa when the garden is ready to give tomatoes. We love salsa too!
This looks delicious! I’ve never made homeade salsa but i’m going to have to try it now 🙂
Love all those yummy ingredients! This would be great with some blue corn chips or on top of a taco.
I love salsa! Just yesterday I had salsa on a big burrito at Chipotle. It was so delicious. I like your salsa recipe and want to make it with my homemade tortilla chips.
