Watching your favorite Amazon Prime Video titles just got easier: Today, Amazon and Comcast announced that Prime Video will be launching on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 over the next week. Amazon Prime Video will be integrated right into the X1 guide, making it so easy to browse through all your Prime Video favorites. Enjoy access to thousands of titles included with a Prime membership, plus even more programming available to rent or buy, along with 150+ Prime Video Channels that can be added to your video service, including STARZ and Showtime.
We are thrilled to give X1 customers access to Amazon Prime Video just in time for the holidays,” says Matt Strauss, Executive Vice President, Xfinity Services, Comcast Cable. “Prime Video is a fantastic extension of the programming choices available to our customers. By integrating hundreds of thousands of live and on demand choices from the best networks, studios and streaming services, our customers can instantly search, control and watch all of their entertainment in one place with their voice.”
The X1 voice remote allows users to watch their favorite shows just by saying “Watch Sneaky Pete“, or browse through what’s available by saying “Find dramas”, for example. If you’d like to launch the Prime Video app, just say “Amazon Prime Video” and your wish will be the X1’s command.
Streaming Prime Originals is now easier than ever for our Prime members with X1,” says Greg Hart, Vice President of Amazon Prime Video. “The launch arrives just in time for Season 2 of Emmy-winning The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Season 3 of The Grand Tour and holiday classics like It’s A Wonderful Life, which is now available exclusively on Prime Video.”
X1 can now be found in a majority of Xfinity customers’ homes, with its convenience making it a quick fan favorite.
More than 60 percent of our video customers have X1 because it offers a unique, integrated experience that provides customers with access to everything – live TV, VOD, DVR, web video, Netflix, YouTube and now Amazon Prime Video – in one place, without the need to switch inputs or change remotes,” says Amy Lynch, Region Vice President, Comcast Washington. “All of this content is accessible to X1 customers through our voice remote, which receives over 700 million voice commands each month.”
