In the new Xbox LIVE Family Settings you can choose to block or allow access to Internet Explorer on your console. By default, access to the browser is blocked for all child accounts. So you can change the settings for anyone in your house. Just like Internet browsers on the home PC, you will be able to monitor your children’s activity on Internet Explorer for Xbox using third-party firewalls and networking products. Additionally, Internet Explorer for Xbox includes SmartScreen® Filter, Microsoft’s industry-leading protection against phishing and malware attacks. SmartScreen Filter helps detect and block malicious websites as you browse the Web.
This information was provided to me by the Xbox team at Microsoft. I’m working with them this holiday season.
