The North Country’s largest and unique winter event, Fire & Ice, will return to New York’s 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel for its third annual Ice Bar event, Feb. 16-18, 2017. Growing year over year, the 2017 event is expected to exceed last year’s attendance of more than 1,700 guests who braved winter’s chill for an out-of-the-box winter extravaganza. Fire & Ice will feature more than 20,000 pounds of ice sculptures, with some new, surprise elements making their debut this year. For a peek at last year’s Ice Bar, click here.
The three-day Fire & Ice event will run from 5-9 p.m. each night at the AAA Four Diamond-rated 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel. Its patio overlooking the St. Lawrence River will be completely transformed into a bar made entirely of ice, featuring grandiose sculptures, character cut outs, ice benches for seating and unforgettable photos, an ice wall featuring event sponsors and an ice sculpture demonstration. In addition to four signature cocktails, including 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel’s Classic Martini, guests can enjoy a cash bar, light hors d’oeuvres, craft beers, and chili and chowder prepared by Executive Chef Patrick Leibacher. Fire pits will be available for warming up and guests can also retreat to the hotel’s ballroom for craft beer and spirits tastings and hors d’oeuvres. Admission is $25 and includes small bites, beer and wine samples, fireworks and DJ entertainment.
A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to the North Country Troopers Assisting Troops. Platinum event sponsors are St. Lawrence Spirits, FX Caprara Kia, Sabre Demolition, WFRY-FM Froggy 97, WCIZ-FM Z93 Classic Hits, and WWTI-TV ABC 50. Tickets can be purchased online here.
