Wow, what an exciting whirlwind trip I just experienced. I was invited along with all the press to the Star Wars Press Junket in San Francisco. While there we were invited to Skywalker Ranch and over to Lucasfilm and it was just amazing being where it all started. Our trip began at Skywalker Ranch where we watched some footage of Star Wars Rogue One. We did not get to see the entire movie that’s still top secret. I’m guessing there are some plot secrets they don’t want out before December 16th but what I did see was outstanding. The fight scenes and space fight scenes are EPIC!
After the screening we were able to take pictures of the costumes from the movie, have appetizers and visit the Skywalker Ranch store. Here are my photos from all those amazing things!
The next day we headed over to Lucasfilm where the Press Junket was held. We took a tour of the facility, had our interviews, and saw a large preview of the merchandise. We also learned how they captured the motion capture of K-2SO which I’m going to share with you in another post so be on the lookout for that as well as the individual interviews. For now here is what the inside of Lucasfilm looks like.
Some of the art is actually painted on glass doors.
We saw artifacts from many different movies. These next two are from Pirates of the Caribbean.
I just loved Jurassic Park when it came out. I watched it on VHS until my tape was destroyed.
Optimus Prime is made from a 3D printer, each piece was printed and then he was assembled and used in the movie.
And Han in carbonite was just the best!
George Lucas has the largest movie post collection there is.
I have a ton more photos from this amazing experience and hope to share more with you as the days go by.
