Oh wow, I just had the best time with my kids! They both came home from Nintendo headquarters saying they had the best day ever. Not only did they get to spend the day playing with the Nintendo 3DS XL but they also got to make everlasting friendships. I LOVE how kids can play with each other and then they are friends for life. I also get a little jealous at how easy it is to become friends at that age. It’s as easy as hi, we’re friends now! I LOVE IT. SO let me tell you about our day from start to finish.
We got up and got on the Seahawks themed bus. The kids were in their jerseys because BLUE FRIDAY people.
It was a great way to get started. Traveling to Nintendo Headquarters in Redmond WA only took about 10 minutes from our hotel. The first thing we saw was Mario and Luigi! We all had our photos taken with them. We had an excellent breakfast and then learned all about Nintendo.
We learned about new merchandise and of course their lineup of games for the Nintendo 3DS as well as what an Amiibo is and you all know that Switch is coming out right?
So what games should you look out for?
Ok so we focused mostly on the 3DS which makes sense since we were there for #3DSKidForADay. But I’m going to warn you that I’ll be writing about Nintendo for a while from now until the holidays are over because these make great gifts. Plus, I purchased a lot at their store for my family as Christmas presents. The top one being the NES
And yes it’s already out of the box and being played. Hopefully you’ll be able to get your hands on one of them. Now as far as games, I want to mention these hot 3DS Games.
1. Animal Crossing New Leaf – Welcome amiibo.
2. Super Mario Maker 3DS
3. Pokemon Moon
4. Pokemon Sun
5. Mario Party Star Rush
6. Disney Magical World 2
We played many of these games and my kids can vouch for all of them, either seeing a demo or getting to play them themselves.
What is an Amiibo?
Now, if you’ve known this or not Amiibos have been around for a while. My husband purchased two of them earlier this year to use with Mario Maker for the Wii U. Amiibos are Nintendo’s version of Toy-to-life characters. You purchase the character and then you can bring them to life in different games. As you can see, Animal Crossing New Leaf uses them, as do, many of the other games. You can learn about them on Nintendo.com. We actually found out that Nintendo.com is very informational. SO visit http://www.nintendo.com/amiibo/what-is-amiibo/ to find out more about Amiibos.
What the heck is the Switch?
The Switch is going to replace the Wii U. Check out this video…
Like I said before, I have a lot more to share with you. This is just the beginning. I want to go into further detail into each item but for now just letting you know that we had a blast being a #3DSKidForADay.
