Kids are bugging out over the Hexbug Nano Party

The kids and Daddy enjoyed setting up the Hexbug Nano Habitat. We’ve played with other electronic toys before and have found this one even though the pieces are small is much more suited to children than the other. The Zoe and Miles both loved playing with the bugs and Miles took his bug everywhere with him for three days. Yes, in that time we had to replace the battery a few times because he would forget to turn it off. As we were playing the Hexbug Nano bugs my husband noticed that some of them said that they were special or rare. So he went looking on line and found the Hexbug Nano Field Guide.

The habitat was easy enough for Zoe, age 3, to put together and take apart. She actually did most of the construction on the habitat you see pictured above. Everyone that came over for the party was allowed to take home some bugs and extra batteries. We had quite a fun party last week with the little Hexbug Nano bugs. Everyone had a great time. I’ve received comments from all of the moms thanking me for sending home the little creatures!

One Mom Said,

Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting the boys spend some time at your house this morning!  They had a great time and love the bugs you sent home with them.  They’ve been playing with them all day; it’s been a while since they were all this quiet at one time.  :)

Another Said,

Louise, thanks so much for the bugs. My kids had SO MUCH FUN playing with them all night!!

And one other mom said,

I’m very impressed with the Hexbugs because they kept my son’s attention for at least 30 minutes. He just sat there and played with the bug watching it go in and out of the habitat.

Every time I try to edit this video my computer crashes so it is a little bit longer than I’m sure any of you other than grandparents like to watch. This video is of the family enjoying the Hexbug Nano for the first time.

Thanks to Mom Select and Hexbug Nano for supplying us with the toys for this party.

“I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Ronzoni and received products necessary to facilitate my candid review and photo contest entry. In addition, I received a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.”

just to keep everyone happy. I really need some help though!

I need smiles on my Cozi Journal

Cozi has selected 25 mommy bloggers to write journals from the Cozi website and we are all going to be paid for our articles, if we create smiles. For every smile we earn we get one dollar. My first article is called:

My Daughter Turned Three Today, Happy Birthday Baby!

I’ve told my children to stop growing up. I just can’t handle it, not because I’m getting older too but because I love my babies and I want to keep them forever. I want to always be able to hold them and whisper I love you in their ears. Hmm, but I can’t stop them. I just have to watch and enjoy them while I can.

I guess what I can do is share how wonderful her day was.

She made her own birthday cake.

She got to wear a party dress, she said, “it’s like Cinderella”.

Presents, and she let her brother open one for her. She always takes care of her brother. We had a great day and I’m exhausted. Doing anything now just takes all my energy. So I’m off to bed early, I just wanted to share our happy day with everyone.

My little Girl is Growing up

We’re currently at the stage

Let Me Do It

She wants to do it all herself and it’s amazing that she’s able to do the things she can do. I find myself always wanting to look at a chart and see if it’s normal, but all I have to do is look at my MOMS Club friends and know that every child is different and she is completely in the normal.

She sings her ABC’s without skipping a single letter.

She Draws circles, knows her shapes and letters.

She can take her clothes on and off

She can buckle herself into her car seat

It’s gotten to not only can she do these things but she will not accept help.

Mommy I’m going to go pee pee on the potty, No Mommy I don’t need your help

BABYBJÖRN Potty ChairWe’re not done with potty training and we have a long way to go but we have made a huge break through. My daughter just announced the other day that she was going to go potty. I was so proud because she did it herself. All by herself. She just needed help pulling her pants back up and i think it’s just because Pull Ups are snug.

So today I decided to be brave and I told her we’re taking off the Pull Ups and she has to go pee pee in the potty. Yes we had an accident on the floor, which isn’t a big deal to me because I know that’s huge motivation for her. She hates messes. I just need to learn how to catch her in the poop phase before we have a really big mess.

I have heard so much advice on potty training and waiting has been the best thing for us. She just tells me when she needs to go and is starting to use it on her own more often. I just have to make sure she’s dressed, and washes her hands.

Other mother’s around me suggested that if I ask her every hour to go potty that will help and to stay home for 3 days straight to keep from having accidents in the car seat. Hmm, my kids drink a lot of water so I’m really nervous about all this but since I know she’s ready here we go. Now, bigger than potty training, how do I deal with her not needing me?

Wish us luck!

Of course, some of you already have and thanks for that!

It’s nap time, I wish I could sleep like my children

Oh she’s so beautiful, and sleeping peaceful. Makes me want to sleep. I’m ready for my Sunday afternoon nap. I’ll be posting more giveaways and review tonight after I get a nap and spend some family time with my DH and kids.
