ER The Complete Fourteenth Season

ER was a bit of an addiction to me every Thursday night for years. I watched every season without fail using a DVR when I knew I had to work or was busy. Even in college, I would watch ER instead of doing the responsible thing like homework, as I said I was obsessed. Of course it changed a lot by the 14th Season, half of the cast had changed, and the doctors even made jokes about remembering who used to work there. Look out, because here comes Season 14 of ER on DVD.

Oh and I’m slightly ashamed to mention that I was so very addicted that I would watch season back to back over and over again on TNT.

ER: The Complete fourteenth Season

1000168260DVDLEFSynopsis:  At an ER party, Nurse Chuny Marquez recalls, “I still remember when Mark Green and Doug Ross were running the place.” “Who?” asks a newcomer. So much has happened in 14 seasons, so many people have come and gone, but the chaos of saving lives and the dedication of the people who make County General run remain. In this penultimate season of the powerful, award-winning series, personal tragedies threaten – and sometimes strengthen – relationships among the staff. And the patients bring their own compelling stories. A boy genius diagnoses his mysterious illness, a cancer-ridden prison doctor is haunted by the men he put to death, a woman arrives in the ER expecting her 13th baby. Triumph, loss, tears, joy…next!

Think Green Give Digital

Today’s Green Tip By Summer:

If you’re thinking about giving a movie or music then you might want to rethink your method. Their data is stored on plastic CDs and DVDs which do not yet classify as recyclable. With these mediums you have the case, disc, included papers and ads as well as the playing device.

For digital music try a Zune; you still need a player like you do for a CD but you have less since all the music is an MP3 format. The membership for a Zune pass is $15 per month or give a year for $150 (that’s two months free!). You can play music on your computer or you simply use a Zune or Windows Phone 7 of your choice then your receiver can download the music of their choice AND they also get to keep 10 songs per month in addition to just “borrowing” music. You can also get an iPod and use iTunes.

For movies you can stream Netflix on your computer, mobile device or video game console – Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii. Your receiver may have one or more of these devices already; this also saves the paper and plastic of all case materials. For $8 per month you can give streaming movies and for $10 per month you can give steaming plus one rented DVD out at-a-time with exchanging as often as desired via prepaid envelope from the USPS. Streaming and renting DVDs cuts down on physical waist, though streaming alone offers the most environmental solutions as there is no gas and emissions used to deliver the DVD mail as well as less DVDs required for purchase by the rental company. Streaming has the bonuses of immediate viewing and no broken discs too.

kinectMany large companies like Disney Warner Brothers and Amazon have digital copies of movies that you can buy on-line. Oh and Microsoft sent me some information telling me that you can get movies from Zune over the Kinect. Since its launch on November 4, Kinect has been one of the hottest products on the market with over 1 million devices sold in the first ten days alone.

· The magic of Kinect is that it’s instantly fun and promises so much more, from fitness, sports and dance, to controller-free music and movies from Zune, live sports from ESPN, and connecting with family and friends through Video Kinect.

· Recognized by respected parenting and industry organizations including the National Parenting Publications Awards and Popular Science’s “Best of What’s New Grand Award,” Kinect gets the entire family off the couch (no additional controllers/gadgets/gizmos required) for less than the cost of 4 tickets to the Nutcracker.

Moreover, Xbox 360 continues to deliver the best blockbuster game experiences with six games on the Top 10 bestselling games list for October, including “Halo: Reach” and “Fable III,” which are exclusive to Xbox 360. More and more games are also available over download.

Laughing Out Loud This Holiday Season With the Elf Ultimate Collector’s Edition

D-027-04Santa is coming early this year with a re-release of Elf. Elf is one of my favorite holiday movies and I it will be on my holiday movie list this year for sure. Will Farrell is so funny. I just adore his humor and his ability to seem so serious and it comes off hilarious. He’s amazing and his performance in Elf is no exception. This hilarious Christmas film tells the tale of a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts on Christmas Eve and is transported back to the North Pole and raised as an elf. Years later Buddy (Will Farrell) learns he is not really an elf and goes on a journey to New York City to find his true identity. It is on this journey that we get to know buddy and his father, his real father. If you actually haven’t seen this movie be prepared to laugh almost non stop.

He’s Your Dog Charlie Brown

1000116765DVDFLTI grew up watching Charlie Brown. He was always on during one of the many holidays and sometimes I could find him on Saturday on one of many of the cable channels. I just remember being a kid when I think of Charlie Brown. Now Snoopy is a favorite of twice as many people that like Charlie Brown. My husband used to have a huge Snoopy collection but over the years we have downsized it quite a bit. Or I have I guess I Charlie Brownshould say. In He’s Your Dog Charlie Brown, Snoopy and his regular antics starting driving everyone more crazy than usual. So Charlie Brown decides to send him off to camp.  Here is the full description:

Synopsis: A beagle is a boy’s best friend. Sometimes. The gang is fed up with mischief-maker Snoopy so Charlie Brown sends the offending beagle away to puppy boot camp. Equipped with a tiny suitcase and his own doggy dish, Snoopy heads to the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm but never makes it past his first stop at Peppermint Patty’s. Now Snoopy wonders if the grass might be greener with a new master. Can Charlie Brown put an end to the canine chaos and bring Snoopy back to the little red doghouse?  Friendship and loyalty come out on top in He’s Your Dog, Charlie Brown! And you will, too, with this Remastered Deluxe Edition with Improved Picture and Audio.

Good Ole Peppermint Patty defiantly didn’t have the patience needed to deal with Snoopy and I just can’t see Snoopy staying too long with any other master other than Charlie Brown anyways. . As I said above it’s always fun to reminisce with an old episode of Charlie Brown.

Faclon Crest Season 1 & Season 2 DVD Giveaway

Falcon Crest was on when I was a very little girl. I remember watching a little bit of it, but I was much more interested in watching Dallas. So, what is your memory of Falcon Crest? I just asked my mom if she watched it and she said yes. Of course she watched it, otherwise; how would I have ever seen it?

Falcon Crest was one of the evening Soap Operas when on air in a time when people were much more interested in watching soap operas, now everyone is just interested in reality TV. I mean, I love reality TV too but I also like a good dramatic show to watch, and I’ll admit, I still watch soap operas when I get the chance.

clip_image001Synopsis:

The dramatic saga continues in the complete second season of Falcon Crest, the popular,

long-running series centered on the rich vineyards and richer people of Northern California’s

wine country. Academy Award® winner Jane Wyman stars as winery matriarch Angela Channing,

who will let nothing – family, honor, the law – stand between her and power. Co-stars include

Robert Foxworth as Chase Gioberti, Angela’s upstanding nephew and rival, and Lorenzo Lamas

as Lance Cumson, Angela’s scheming, playboy grandson. Meet the characters…indulge in the

lifestyle…savor the second season of of vintage television melodrama.

About FALCON CREST:

Created by Earl Hamner of The Waltons fame, the highly popular prime time television soap opera Falcon Crest ran from 1981 to 1990. Set in the fictional city of Tuscany Valley, it centered on two wealthy wine families: the Channings, headed by corruptive matriarch, Angela Channing (Jane Wyman), and their rivals, the Giobertis. Falcon Crest ran for nine seasons on CBS, and was a Top 20 show in the Nielsen ratings for four straight years, ranking #13 in its debut year and reaching #7 by the third season.

Dark Blue Season 1

DarkBlue_1 Dylan McDermott plays Lt. Carter Shaw in Dark Blue on TNT and I think he’s pretty good looking. He’s been acting for years and I first remember him from The Practice in early 2000. In Dark Blue he leads a team of under cover cops that are so under cover his team isn’t even supposed to exist. The FBI has a file on him and believe he may have gone bad, but they soon discover that he’s running the streets turning in the bad guys.

The team he puts together works with criminals acting as criminals so often there is a gray line of darkness leaving them sometimes wondering what is right and what is wrong. I haven’t completely finished the season but I’m excited to see more character development and back story on Dylan’s character Lt. Shaw. Seems that once upon a time he had a woman in his life that he cared for deeply. Now, he’s in so deep any personal relationships would just put the female danger. This past relationship keeps him on top of  Ty and keeping Ty’s wife safe. In one of the very early episodes Ty goes home to visit his wife for her birthday and endangers her life because he was in the middle of bringing down a case.

Dark Blue S1 Lt. Shaw keeps all of the other characters in line and there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do to protect one of his own. It is that loyalty that keeps his team bringing down the bad guys because without it, one of them would be sure to turn. Jerry Bruckheimer creator of all things CSI, Without a Trace, and Cold Case also put together this edgy and dark cop show of undercover LAPD.

I’ll finish Season 1 and then probably watch Season two on Hulu or fancast if it’s available. I really like it and was looking for a summer show to watch! Order DARK BLUE: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON on DVD now on the WBshop.com or on Amazon.com. Dark Blue: The Complete First Season

Judy Garland A Star is Born Blu-ray and Digital Demand Giveaway

clip_image001You know Judy Garland from The Wizard of Oz, but have you seen her in anything else? A Star is Born was her first movie back after a 4 year hiatus from movies. She had quite a talented voice had an excellent stage presence. I’ve watched a lot of older movies with my mom and I think it’s a little bit funny, how they used to make so many movies about stage productions. A Star is Born Deluxe Edition Blue-Ray came out June 22, and it includes a 40 page booklet with rare photos from when the movie originally came out.

High Drama 2 The final episodes #WBWord

Thinking back to my years in high school takes me back what? 12 years. Wow, I’ve been out of school for quite a while. Then, in high school, all I did was live in the moment. I worked, did homework, and participated in marching band. Participating in school clubs can have a huge impact on where you end up. It was my experience in marching band that influenced my college essay and from that essay I pretty much was accepted into any college of my choice. I wish I still had a copy of that essay, I would share it as a random post because it was so good.

Just like in High Drama 2 on TheWB.com, all of my spare time was wrapped up in band and all of my friendships there. The excitement of walking onto the field before a football game was such an exciting feeling. The cast of High Drama 2, from Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania share there exciting news and nerves as they get ready for their live performance of The Wizard of Oz. Many of them like Cameron are waiting to find out which collage they are getting accepted into. He’s so distracted by the news that he isn’t paying attention while all of the other students are having their last rehearsal. Man, I remember sitting there in band waiting for my turn to play, or waiting after we played until the end of the concert. Supporting your fellow classmates is an important responsibility and he has to learn that.

High Drama 2 #WBWord

"High Drama 2" follows the theater company of Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, as they put on their best show yet: The Wizard of Oz. I missed High Drama the first time around but I’m pleased that I found out about season 2. I am after all a reality TV junkie. I was never brave enough to do theater. Getting up in front of people is so hard for me to do. Watching these teenagers get up and do this makes me wish I could be braver. The girls that went up for the lead of Dorothy were both very talented and I think the judges picked the right winner. That girl Allie can sing. She was quite impressive and even sings her own songs when she isn’t on stage at school.

The cast member playing The Lion, Tony, has a condition that makes memorization difficult for him, yet he has challenged himself by taking on a leading role within the show.  It was his drama teacher that actually helped him determine that he has a learning disability. If only all of us could find the courage it takes to over come a difficulty in our lives. I’m just a normal person and have found it difficult to over come my fears and weaknesses. However, blogging is going to make me get out of that shell. Because I keep finding myself in front of cameras and being put on TV or the internet in commercials. Small time! (friends, I am not famous by a long shot, but thanks for all of your support)
