The NEW Step2 Wild Slide Riders Zebra Can Help Your Toddler Step It Up!

My little boy has now officially reached “toddlerhood.” It’s taken me a month or so to accept that he isn’t a baby, but watching him as he cruises around, his babbles start to turn into words and his strong personality makes itself even more known, I’m realizing that toddlerhood is a pretty cool thing. One of the best parts is the new variety of toys to choose from. We can actually now consider ride on toys! He is so much more fun and interactive … and likes trying to do most everything HIMSELF! Step2 has such a wide variety of toys to choose from! They are a strong, reputable company that carries exactly what can support children at every stage of their development!

Right now, Atticus is just starting to cruise around. He’s a little hesitant to take risks and actually “walk” on his own, but that’s where the Step2 Wild Side Riders Zebra came in handy. As soon as he saw the pictures on the box, I knew that this Step2 product was going to be a hit. There was some very quick and easy assembly required. In under 10 minutes, with nothing more than a hammer and some easy sticker placement, our new ride on toy was ready to go.

Since it is Atticus’s first ride on toy, I was a little nervous that he wouldn’t know exactly what to do. Boy was I wrong! Not only did he hop on board and begin scooting around the room, but he took time to pet the Zebra’s face, point out his eyes and then scratch the Zebra’s ears. The next thing was my favorite. Atticus took the lead of the Zebra and used it to walk! He also used the ears of the Zebra making it not only a ride on toy, but also a push toy to aid in the development of walking!

Disney Junior’s Special Agent OSO Whirly Bird Vehicle By Learning Curve Giveaway

We were just talking about Special Agent Oso the other day, I think Zoe saw an advertisement on one of our computers and said she wanted to watch it. She’s liked it for a while even though we don’t have cable, so she doesn’t get to watch it very often. A few weeks back, Summer wrote that really great Special Agent Oso Rapide Command Center Review? She did a great job describing the show. I think she’s sat through more episodes with her kids than I have with mine. I didn’t even know that oso is the Spanish word for bear. So, just in case you’re like me and not entirely sure about the premise of the show, it’s on the Disney Channel, it’s a preschool series, it’s starring a really cute teddy bear named Oso. Oso is a clumsy, lovable special agent-in-training under an international organization of stuffed animals, such as his co-agent Wolfie, serving the international agency called U.N.I.Q.U.E. (United Network for Investigating Quite Usual Events) which helps kids accomplish everyday tasks. I think the theme song is catchy and the episodes are educational.

We received the Special Agent OSO Whirly Bird by Learning Curve. The Whirly Bird to the rescue is geard for ages 3+ for active imaginations! Kids get to join Special Agent Oso as he soars off to his next extraordinary assignment. One of Miles’ favorite things to do now is to pretend to fly. He loves taking toys and soaring them across the living room as he walks across the room. What’s really cool is that the Special Agent OSO Whirly Bird is equipped with an ejector seat, grappling hook, and spinning propeller, all providing more aspects of FUN! As you can see, the Whirly Bird has all the gear Oso needs to arrive at his destination! Another one of Miles’ favorite aspects of any toy is the ability for it to make sound. He has always loved making as much noise as possible. The magnetic activation point triggers electronic sounds and character voices from the show! Dora’s Garden Gazebo Mega Blocks Playset Review

Miles and Zoe just adore Dora. I think all 2 – 5 year olds have a thing for Dora at one time or another and I don’t see any way to avoid her. She’s everywhere, we don’t even have TV and my kids know all about Dora the Explorer. Of course, we do have a few of her DVD’s and over at Tully’s where I like to get a cup of coffee, there are some Dora toys there and the kids always rush over to the kid table to see who can get to Dora first.

Mega Bloks has two new Dora playsets that let children build and rebuild with their favorite cartoon character in many different ways. Each set has a Build a Dress feature that Zoe is just in love with. We received the Dora’s Garden Gazebo and Zoe loves having the ability to take doll clothes off and put them back on and switch them. I actually thought that was the most creative part about the playset, the ability to change the skirt.

Miles played with it first and he needed a little help to build the playset but Zoe came home and put it right together and it looked like my husband did it. I even asked him, did you help Zoe put that together and he said nope. She did it all by herself. Dora’s Garden Gazebo comes with everything little girls need to have a garden party of their own. There is a sunflower to water, and a table with an umbrella along with a bird. Zoe put the bird in the flower pot and said that it was building a nest there and that the flower had to go somewhere else. I thought that was pretty creative of her.

That’s something that Mega Bloks is really great at. Mega Bloks inspire kids in role playing while helping them to develop their hands on coordination. They build and rebuild and play.

For ages 3 and up, Mega Bloks has new Dora Buildable playsets that let children build and rebuild in many different ways. Each set also includes a Build & Dress Dora with fun accessories.

Disney Junior’s Special Agent OSO Rapide Command Center Toy By Learning Curve

My kids love to watch Disney Junior’s Special Agent Oso. He’s O-So special, just like your children. Now their toys can be O-So special with the new Special Agent Oso R.R. Rapide Command Center from Learning Curve.

If you’ve never seen Special Agent Oso (oso is the Spanish word for bear) on the Disney Channel, it’s a preschool series starring a teddy bear named Oso who is a clumsy, lovable special agent-in-training. Oso is training under an international organization of stuffed animals, such as his co-agent Wolfie, serving the international agency called U.N.I.Q.U.E. (United Network for Investigating Quite Usual Events) which helps kids accomplish everyday tasks. During his missions Oso enlists the help of viewers at home to complete his special assignments — such as making a sandwich, catching the school bus, and conservation — using three simple steps. Each completed mission is rewarded with a Digi Medal which Oso stores in his electronic Paw-Pilot. R.R. Rapide was recently introduced as Oso’s main form of transportation; Rapide is a high-speed railroad car with a big personality. Each Special Agent Oso episode is cleverly named after or in the likeness of James Bond films.

The Special Agent Oso R.R. Rapide Command Center from Learning Curve features Rapide, Wolfie, and Oso. Rapide extends to over 3 feet in length and included a launch pad for Wolfie on his motorcycle. Rapide also includes 2 jet packs with an automatic jet pack loader, elevating captain’s chair, front hatch automatic opening ONLY for Oso, lights and sounds, and a collectable Digi Medal.

This is a super fun toy. I love that Rapid is interactive with Oso and that there are so many moving parts. I also love that there is more than one action figure, vehicle and jetpack; you get two action figures – Oso and Wolfie with a detachable jetpack each – and two vehicles a motorcycle and Rapide the train. For your value this is a great play date or siblings toy as you don’t have to purchase add-ons if you don’t want to since this toy offers so much. This is a great buy and a great value for hours of continuous play.

The SRP is $39.99 and Target stores should have the product in stock, but I also found Special Agent OSO R.R. Rapide Command Center at Toy R Us for a higher price and Special Agent OSO R.R. Hasbro Furreal Friends LuLu, My Cuddlin’ Kitty

Furreal Friends Lulu is another donation that Hasbro sent for the toy drive. Zoe and Miles both wanted to open it and play with it. I actually did too because of how interactive it was just inside the box. My Cuddlin’ Kitty reminded me of a cat I had as a child but it didn’t have any sensors and react to my movement. Lulu purrs and meows whenever you walk by or as you play with him. So I placed Lulu in our garage and I forgot about her. One day, I kept hearing this kitten meowing and it was driving me crazy. I was sure there was a cat in my yard somewhere and it needed some food. Well, I finally figured out that it was the cat. Now that I know for sure there is no kitten in my yard, I still get creeped out every time I walk by it.

Playmobil School Gym

Playmobil is also participating in our Holiday Toy Drive. I love playmobil because they are so creative and diverse. They appeal to all ages and inspire lots of imagniative play with the building and playing. They sent us the Playmobil School Gym to donate to the charity of our choice. We have worked with Playmobil before. They have great products and sent us the Playmobil 1-2-3 Playset. Playmobil is broken up into two categories, the toddler set and then the older kids set. The toddler sets or 1-2-3 playmobil, can always be found in stores in yellow playmobil packaging. I spent time playing with Playmobil at my last job. The job I had before becoming a mother. Yep, I got to play with toys all day then too. We could fill an entire wall at the store with just Playmobil and the different themes of toys they had. One of the best sellers we had was the Advent Calendar, the other would be the Pirates Sets.

The Land of Nod Stand Mixer With Bowl #Giveaway

Mom Start was chosen as a Land of Nod Review Blogger. So throughout the year we’ll be bringing you toy ideas for the holidays and what makes a great birthday present. Even when I was working in a store similar to them, I loved to see what they carried that we didn’t. I’m a big kid at heart!!

She loves to help me cook but if I’m in a hurry or using the oven mostly she can’t help me. So she’s quite happy to work in her own kitchen. I showed her the mixer and she was just jumping up and down to get to open it.

The Stand Mixer is a cute green color and is very easy to operate. It came with a flour bag, a butter bag and little white and yellow balls that she can put in her mixer and in and out of the bags. Now, are new cute little dog Abby has decide that this is a fun toy too. When the kids dropped the balls on the kitchen floor Abby chased the balls up and down. Some of them are already lost underneath our kitchen stove.

Abby also patiently waits underneath Zoe as she’s cooking to see if there will be any scraps.

Stinky the Garbage Truck delights Miles. He could hardly wait for us to get him out of the package. Then when we did he set to playing with him right away. He didn’t need any help figuring out that his other cars could fit inside of Stinky. Stinky is part of the Big Rig Buddies and there is a Stinky and Pals DVD included with Stinky the Garbage Truck. Zoe and Miles both liked the DVD. There were a few different episodes. In one there was a lesson about telling the truth, and I got a kick out of it because it actually taught a lesson. So many cartoons now don’t even teach right from wrong, what is wrong with the world? Cartoons aren’t teaching anymore, so I’m happy that Matchbox had the decency to put in a life lesson there. The other lesson the kids seemed to pick up on was cooperation. We’re teaching Miles the meaning of Cooperating with Mommy and Daddy during the bed time routine and this was a great reiteration for him.

First and foremost, Stinky is a real working garbage truck that boys can drive around, load and unload. Stinky keeps boys engaged by asking questions, initiating sing-a-longs, exercising, playing games and he even has a couple of silly surprises that are sure to make kids laugh out loud. With more than 80 phrases, various movements and sounds Stinky™ offers the ultimate in open-ended play.

Miles Took Stinky with him everywhere for a day. I didn’t let him take it outside into the neighborhood for fear that he would get broken but I think he’s heartier than I give him credit for, Stinky The Garbage truck that is. Miles really likes this truck and I recommend it as a Holiday Gift for a child. I’m not going to limit it to a boy because Zoe loves playing with Stinky as well.

Sid The Science Kid Home Party and Science Kit Giveaway

Sid the Science Kid is a FAMILY favorite. Yes, the whole family likes watching Sid, not just Zoe and Miles. In fact I would say that it is their dad’s favorite cartoon to watch with them. We love watching Sid and he’s helped us with things like wearing sunscreen and discovering bugs. We had the privelage of throwing a Sid The Science Kid Party and sharing some new toys from Sid The Science Kid. The Sid The Science Kid Party was thrown in honor of Sid the Science Kid, the award-winning, educational television series from the Jim Henson Studios returning for its second season with 12 new episodes on October 4th! That’s Monday People! Tune into PBS to watch the new series and check your local listings for times!

At PBS they believe that introducing preschoolers to the basics of science through the eyes of a young science reporter named Sid, is a fun way to educate. Each episode begins with a new question and Sid embarks on a fun day of adventures filled with singing and dancing. The singing and dancing is not annoying in anyway and we find that the information is really presented in a way that a child would actually understand and do themselves.

We were provided with the supplies, plates, napkins, and cups, a Sid the Science Kid Microphone, and the Sid The Science Kid Kit Why Are Wheels Round. The Microphone we shared and it was a huge hit. I was asked where you can purchase one because a special birthday is coming up! I believe you can find them at Amazon, and Target. I know if you search for them on-line you will find plenty of places to purchase them.

Sid seems to be quite a favorite in other families too, or at least that is what I gathered from the party. We had a lot of fun that day, so much that I didn’t get any other pictures captured other than the party supplies. OOPS!

The next day, when daddy was home we did the science kit, Why are wheels round? My husband had them do it just like Sid would have. They explored every aspect of it. They used the square wheels, the oval wheels and the round wheels. They talked about friction and when the friction was the best and worst. It was quite fun to watch them all do it together. Then they had to write down their discoveries in their journals. Which was also fun to watch them draw!

After they made all of their discoveries inside the house they had to see how it would do outside on the sidewalk. So we had quite a fun day with our experiment.
