SouthLand The Complete First Season Giveaway

Last time I was talking about SouthLAnd, I was a little confused on which season they were on. I thought they were on Season two when in fact it was just TNT finishing up Season 1. So now, I’m giving away the COMPLETE first Season of SouthLand. Which some might consider Season 1 and Season 1 1/2.

About Southland

From Emmy Award winners John Wells, Ann Biderman and Chris Chulack comes a raw and authentic look at a police unit in Los Angeles. From the beaches of Malibu to the streets of East Los Angeles, "Southland" is a fast-moving drama that will take viewers inside the lives of cops, criminals, victims and their families.

Michael Cudlitz ("A River Runs Through It") plays John Cooper a seasoned Los Angeles cop, assigned to train young rookie Ben Sherman (Ben McKenzie, "The O.C."). Cooper’s honest, no-nonsense approach to the job leaves Sherman questioning whether or not he has what it takes to become a police officer.

Check Out TNT Award Nominations two of them are for the series SouthLand.

New Tonight on TNT Southland Extended Commercial-Free Premiere

Southland

So after a little research I found the Southland was originally on NBC, it was cancelled before it was fully enjoyed. It’s not for the weak of heart, it’s HBO, Showtime quality in my opinion. It’s a very serious cop show. It’s not softened, it’s just in your face the life of a cop.

I’ve only watched the pilot so far and that’s what coming on TNT, as they breath new life into the series by starting at the beginning. So if you’ve never seen it before here is your chance to watch it from the beginning. With the plan for all new episodes to begin in March.

This is not a show for children, I was viewing it yesterday during nap time and as soon as nap time was over my daughter wanted to see what I was watching. The Pilot begins with Ben Sherman (Ben McKenzie, The OC) who is a rookie that is partnered up with an really hard guy a veteran veteran John Cooper (Michael Cudlitz, Band of Brothers). Their relationship is rocky at best, with Ben wanting to take a punch at his new partner before the end of his first day out. Luckily though another cop calms him down. I’m sure that would be a terrible way to start out a career as being a cop.

Not sure if this is a show I’ll be adding to my list as I don’t have the stomach for cop shows. I do have an admiration for the show’s ability to present a pilot that was believable and understandable. I feel that many pilots are so confusing because there are so many elements to present to a new audience. I’m usually left confused and wondering if watching a few more episodes are worth the trouble.

Southland has characters that come across as real and believable. They all have some kind of dark closet filled with their own problems that the audience can relate to. In the mood for some real drama, tune in at 10:00 PM on TNT tonight for the Extended with never before scenes of Southland.

TNT wanted to share “You know you are a parent when”

Thursday Morning Fun from TBS….

“You Know You’re a Parent When…”

Having kids means that you’re constantly reminded of the fact that yes, you are parent. But instead of pretending that your children aren’t the ones running around with no pants, try embracing that special badge of honor that says “what have I gotten myself into?” Relax and enjoy some unconventional parenting insight brought to you by THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW.

You Know You’re a Parent When…

Your email signature reads “Do What I Say. Not What I Do.”

You decide to trade in your convertible for a minivan and cry the whole way to the dealership.

You’ve fixed someone’s hair with spit.

You’ve paid a costumed character to show up at your house.

No one calls you by your first name anymore. Now you’re simply known as someone’s Mom.

There’s an entire box of cereal buried in the cracks between your car seats. And you’ve considered eating it while waiting in the carpool line.

Instead of goodnight kisses, you now get goodnight text messages.

At least once a week you ask yourself “Whose kids are these?”

You’ve threatened competitors at the school science fair.

You find yourself wearing your pajamas for a coffee run or to drop off the kids. It’s not like you have time to get out of the car anyway.

You’ve been to soccer practice, ballet and story time all before 11am.

Most of your advice starts with “When I was your age.”

You have to explain how math will be useful some day.

Sleeping late means 8:15 am.

You read more than one parenting blog a day.

You realize your parents only come visit to see the grandkids.

You wipe anyone’s mouth other than yours.

You’ve hosted a graduation party for an 11-year-old.

You talk about bodily functions more than most doctors.

You occasionally forget to bathe.

You want to tell your kids about the birds and the bees, but you can’t remember the last time you did it.

For more hilarious parenting moments, tune in to THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW Saturday nights at 9/8c on TBS!!

Tuesday night on TNT Saving Grace Season 2 DVD set #Giveaway

ftp://tbstntpress:letter83x@tsftp.turner.com/logos/SavingGrace_GoldNoLines.jpgHave you caught up on Saving Grace yet? I started my journey with Saving Grace on Season Three but I do love to sit and watch an entire DVD set at one time. So playing catch up is so much fun in my opinion. I know other people wait until seasons are released and then they watch it. That’s what my sister does. Then there are those that watch it over and over and over again and I fall into this category too. I’m a TV junkie. Darn the internet for making it so easy to watch TV all the time. Ok Back to topic:

If you want to know anything about Saving Grace you can read my review of Saving Grace Season 3.

Hawthorne New TNT Series needs more of Michael Vartan

So this new series on TNT Hawthorn is Jada Pinkett Smith’s new series, but all I want is more Michael Vartan. I just loved him on Alias, I was so glad he was alive in the end. I knew people that quit watching when he was killed off.

Nurse Christina Hawthorne is the head nurse and putting out fires left and right while dealing with the death of her husband. It just didn’t have enough drooling factor for me, but the storyline is appealing and the characters are well developed for a pilot.

“Pilot” – Premieres Tuesday, June 16, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT)

As TNT’s dynamic new series opens, Christina Hawthorne, chief nursing officer for Richmond Trinity Hospital, races to work to try to prevent a suicide attempt by David, an end-stage cancer patient and best friend to her husband.  It is the beginning of a long day for Christina, a day that happens to be the first anniversary of her husband’s death.  Putting her mourning on hold, Christina turns her focus to Ray Stein, a nurse who gets into hot water when he goes against his instincts and administers a doctor’s questionable treatment; Isabel, a homeless woman who brings a sick infant to the hospital; Camille, Christina’s rebellious daughter who has decided to take a stand for free speech in school; and Amanda, Christina’s former mother-in-law who also happens to be a member of the hospital board.

The Series Premier of Wedding Day on TNT

tnt The “We Know Drama” team has come up with a new idea for a reality TV show, Wedding Day. Actually, in my opinion it’s been there done that, with a twist. I’ve never seen it come together so quickly before. It’s almost like ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover meets TLC’s Wedding Story. You get a heart felt story and the reward is a wedding of dreams. Be careful watching it you might have tears in your eyes.

“Holli & Steve” – Premieres Tuesday, June 16, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT)

Just four days before his wedding day in 2007, Steve received a call that his bride-to-be, Holli, had been injured in a near-fatal car crash and had only a 50% chance of surviving.  After six days in a coma, she finally came to, but every day since then has been a struggle to withstand the long, painful road to recovery.  Holli and Steve’s walk down the aisle includes a New York shopping spree, a Badgley-Mishka wedding dress and Manolo Blahnik shoes.  The couple even gets to enjoy a special performance by Boyz II Men, who were moved when they heard Holli and Steve’s story.

WEDDING DAY, THEHosts:

Alan Dunn

Diann Valentine

Saving Grace is actually about Saving Grace

saving grace  Saving Grace is going to start it’s third season on Tuesday June 16th on TNT. It took me three episodes to figure out what was going on. Of course I didn’t read anything about the show before I started watching this season’s first few episodes. I didn’t want anything to sway my opinion of this show. Starring Holly Hunter. I think I’m addicted. My only dissatisfaction would be that I don’t like all the cussing. for a show about saving Grace’s soul and having her turn her life over to God there is so much cussing. Grace’s relationship with her best friend played by Laura San Giacomo (whom I was related to by marriage) is so believable and fantastic. I hope I can find it on Hulu or somewhere on the internet.

Episode Description:

“We’re Already Here” – Tuesday, June 16, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)

When Grace tries to reach out to Neely – the young drug addict who shares visions of Earl – Grace winds up in the middle of what could be a plot by an anti-government group linked to the recent death of a police officer.  Grace’s clumsy, off-the-books investigation goes especially bad when Neely is injured.  Meanwhile, Grace and Ham get caught in a compromising position, and Butch makes a surprise announcement.
