Kidssocks Little Feet Big Selection Review

As any mom out there can attest to, there is something about socks that just causes them to disappear or end up destroyed. Maybe there really is a sock monster in the dryer that sucks them up (and I know that you know it’s only one at a time, that’s why there are so many mismatched socks!) Maybe my floor really is that dirty so the once white socks now have a strange tint to them. I haven’t even mentioned the issue of how hard it is to find socks that actually stay on your little ones, especially when they’re still too little for shoes!

kidssocks.com logoShopping for kid’s socks is tough, but there is a new online website www.kidssocks.com that makes it much easier. Their website has socks, booties, tights and more for newborns all the way up to the hard to please “tweeners.” I spent some time shopping around on the site and they have done a great job of making it very user friendly. You are able to shop by several different clip_image004categories (age, gender, brand, etc.) which is pretty helpful. The other great thing about kidssocks.com is that you don’t have to sign up or register anything before you see your total. I know that may not sound like a big deal, but taking the time to sign up and fill out all sorts of information before you know your total price can be a little bit of a headache sometimes. Once you have found an item you are interested in, you are able to enlarge the picture too! My only complaint about the site is the product descriptions aren’t quite up to speed. I’m hoping that this is something they are working on since they are pretty clip_image002new. My little guy is to the pulling up on everything and creeping around stage which is great… but we have hardwood floors which means he really needs the socks that have good grippers on the bottom. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to tell which socks had “gripper bottoms” and which ones didn’t. They have an option for you to add to the product descriptions, but that didn’t really help me out too much.

clip_image008My experience with products from kidssocks.com has been amazing! They sent me a sample of True Religion socks. These socks came in a great variety of colors (I’ve even been putting the pink ones on my little guy to cruise around the house in). I have to say that the best things about the True Religion socks are how well they actually stay on my baby (without leaving huge imprints on his little legs), and how awesome the grippers on the bottom are. He actually started pulling up onto things with these socks on and was so proud of himself! Without those little rubber dots, he would have been slipping and sliding all over the place. The socks have washed well, worn well, and I’d love to shop kidssocks.com to find some more!

Surgery Sucks Part 2 – but I have great socks and I get to give them away too

IMG_4780I have had quite a few people ask me how I’m doing and I’m very grateful for that. Thank You for all of the well wishes.

I’m doing better each day, but the other day I was in the bathroom for five hours. Pain meds have terrible side effects so since that caught up with me I had to give them up. I’m not in pain anymore so it’s a good thing to be off of them. I’m just dealing with eating regular meals again and getting back on my sleep schedule so there is a light at the end of the tunnel after surgery.

It’s been two weeks since I had the surgery, I’m still really weak but I’m getting stronger so I should say that I’m better. I just have to listen to the doctor and not pick anything up for six more weeks. The hardest thing is not being able to hold my kids. It’s hard on them and on me. My doctor said that my incisions should feel well enough in another week to sleep on my stomach so maybe I can get some more cuddles in then too.

Before my surgery I received two pairs of socks from Patientstyle. They are find to wear while you are in the hospital, they are warm and they have the tiniest gripies in the socks. They are soft and I’ve been enjoying them with my recovery. My husband has been washing everything I’ve been wearing on sanitize and they are still soft coming out of the wash. It’s nice to know that I’m not going to slide and fall and re-injure myself.

These socks are anti-microbial socks They have a new e-commerce site dedicated to new and expecting moms, and those who have had to undergo stays/surgeries at the hospital, like me. The founder is former President of lifestyle brand Karen Neuberger (if you are familiar). There are gifts for everyone on  the site – mom, baby, the elderly, kids.

Expecting moms can find maternity gowns, nursing covers, and hospital gowns. You can also find really cute pajamas for the whole family.

They are offering two pairs to one of my readers. So while I’m sitting here in my recovery socks, you can have a pair of nice warm socks to keep your feet warm during the winter. Or maybe you’ll have a need sometime. I sure hope not because surgery sucks!

How many socks does it take to make a match?

socks

It’s Sunday and I did nothing yesterday so today I have been spending the day doing laundry. I was mostly inspired to do laundry because my son had to wear pink socks yesterday. All my husband could find was my daughter’s socks and my son’s feet were cold. Oh man.

My least favorite part of laundry is folding socks. I leave them forever. I figured for sure that my husband was just missing his socks, but no, he was right all of my sons socks were dirty. I decided to fold clothes and my husband came upstairs to help. He mated all of the socks for me and we got rid of all the socks that no longer fit either of our children. He still kept a few pairs of pink socks that no longer fit my daughter for sock emergencies. He is always prepared.

My questions remains though, how many pairs of socks do you have to have for your children so that there is a mate?

last december

This is a picture of my son from last December, look at his feet. Two mismatched socks. Now, I have no problem with mismatched socks, my problem is that it takes us forever just to find two socks that are the right size.

How many extra socks do I need to have to find a pair of socks?
