Mocha Fudge Spiders Recipe

Pillsbury is hosting a contest looking for your every day family moment, Pillsbury People Celebrate More Photo Contest, and for us that’s baking together. The contest runs from  September 21 through November 30, 2011, they are asking us to submit a photo capturing an everyday family celebration, plus a brief description (200 words or less) describing the moment and how the experience made us feel. Ten finalist photos and captions will be chosen and posted on www.pillsburybaking.com for a nationwide online vote to help decide the winner beginning in January 2012. The winner will also be invited to the ultimate hometown celebration for the Pillsbury Doughboy’s birthday this spring. So we got in the kitchen and made these cuties! Or Spooky Spiders you might call them.

We made Mocha Fudge Spiders for Halloween.

Mocha Fudge Spiders Recipe:

Ingredients:

IMG_4681Mocha Fudge or Dark Chocolate Pillsbury Brownie Mixes
1 8 ounce package of cream cheese (room temperature)
3 cups powdered sugar
1 stick of butter (room temperature)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup cocoa
Tiny colored chocolate Sprinkles
Gummy Leggs

Directions:

Bake the brownies according to the directions on the box

Then we made the icing/cake ball glue. I don’t know exactly what you call it but these spiders are basically cake balls, cake bites, cake pops whatever you want to call them.

Cream the butter

Add the cream cheese

Slowly mix in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and cocoaIMG_4683

Then you get the kids involved. You attach the legs and eyes.

The kids loved the entire experience as much as I did. It was fun to watch them create their own little spiders.

Simply Pepperoni Biscuit Calzones

I love pizza and anything that is remotely close to it. Yes, I prefer to make my own pizza dough but sometimes it just takes more time than I have. So I use biscuit dough, and this time I used the Pillsbury Simply Biscuits to make calzones.

I like to spray my pans with a non-stick spray even though they are non-stick pans. So I sprayed my pan rolled out the biscuits and placed them on the tray.

Then I spooned out some pizza sauce, added pepperoni and cheese. Feel free to put whatever you enjoy on your pizza in your calzone.

Simply Pepperoni Biscuit Calzones Recipe

Ingredients:

Pillsbury Simply Biscuits
1 cup Pepperoni
1 cup Tomato Sauce
1 cup Mozzerella cheese

Directions:

Roll out each biscuit
Place on a non-stick pan
Pour a spoonful of sauce on each one
Add three pieces of pepperoni
Fold Over into a calzone
