Disney’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: I Heart Minnie Review

By Emily:

Valentine’s Day is almost here! Time for red and roses, hearts and chocolates, and little gifts and greetings. We love to celebrate this holiday as a family by baking special pink treats, decorating with hearts, and making special valentines for each other. This year, as an extra special treat for my little sweethearts, we gave them an early Valentine’s Day gift: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: I Heart Minnie on DVD. Who better to help celebrate the day of love with America’s sweetest cartoon couple: Mickey and Minnie Mouse!

Minnie FrontReleasing for the first time on DVD and Digital Copy, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: I Heart Minnie has been packaged to include five, fun-filled episodes – each underlining the themes of friendship, teamwork, sharing and problem solving – and an all new bonus feature “You’re Invited to Minnie’s Birthday Party,” as well as two complimentary Best Friend necklaces to keep as mementos and/or to share with a very special someone this Valentine’s Day.

The five classic episodes include:

·       Minnie & Daisy’s Flower Shower (All-New, Never-Before-Seen) - The botanical highlight of the year is in trouble, unless Minnie and Daisy can get their flowers to bloom! Together, they board the glove balloon to help coax the clouds to sprinkle much needed rain.

·       Daisy’s Dance – Clap your hands and tap your feet! Join Daisy, as she gets ready for one of the most important events of her life––performing in the big talent show!

·       Daisy’s Pet Project – The Pet Parade is almost here and Daisy needs to find the perfect animal for which she can love and care. But it’s not as easy as she thinks and soon she has three new friends: an elephant named Bubbles, a giraffe called Longfellow and a bunny called Captain Jumps-a-lot!

·       Minnie’s Rainbow – After a brightly colored rainbow appears over the clubhouse, Minnie searches for the pot of gold that’s supposed to be at its end. Along the way, she meets a leprechaun and discovers that not all treasure turns out to be as she expected!

·       Minnie’s Birthday – Today is Minnie’s birthday, but the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse friends need to set up her birthday party.

As big fans of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney Junior, my girls couldn’t wait to watch all five episodes featured on this DVD. Especially Minnie & Daisy’s Flower Shower which of course, they had never seen before. I asked them what their favorite part was and without a doubt, it was the opening theme song! With five episodes, they got parade around and sing along five times. But to be more specific to this DVD, my oldest daughter loved it when the birthday cake came out at Minnie’s party. My daughter’s birthday is just around the corner so I think I understand why this really appealed to her. My younger daughter liked the rainbows and calling out the colors, and I love the way Mickey Mouse Clubhouse incorporates learning into the fun.

In celebration of the February 7th release of Disney’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: I Heart Minnie on DVD and just in time for Valentine’s Day, Disney has created a special Valentine’s Day Fun Pack! This fun pack includes a Cookie Recipe, Mailbag Craft, and Sharing Cards! No need for me to buy our classroom Valentines this year; we’ll be using these super sweet printables instead!

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: I Heart Minnie ($19.99) can be purchased online or at your favorite retailer.

Disney Junior Mickey Mouse ClubHouse Space Adventure Review

The star of one of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s newly released movies needs no introduction. He is an icon, the symbol of everything Disney, and the most beloved cartoon character of all time: Mickey Mouse! He has fans throughout the world and of all ages; even my youngest daughter before turning one, wanted her first birthday to be all about Mickey. So if you’ve never heard of Mickey Mouse, then you must be living on Mars!

MMCH_Space_Adventure_DVD_ArtAnd Mars is just where Mickey and his friends are off to in Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s newly released movie Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Space Adventure. This 45 minute, full-length intergalactic adventure takes the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse gang – Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Daisy – into outer space to search for the ultimate space treasure. Geared for kids 2 to 5 years of age, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Space Adventure invites young viewers to discover outer space and use their problem- solving skills while they watch. In this specific adventure, Mickey and pals head to space where they tour the Moon, Mars and the Rings of Saturn as well as meet new alien friends while on the hunt for a unique space treasure.

My daughters couldn’t wait to get the chance to watch this video when it arrived. My youngest daughter, now two and a half, watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney Channel daily. This movie did not disappoint her one bit. It stays true to the television show’s objective which is intended to help children use specific age-appropriate problem solving skills, such as identifying shapes, counting, and memory in an entertaining way.

My older daughter, the kindergartner, is a huge Disney fan and has enjoyed just about every Disney movie she has seen. Well, maybe not the ones with scary parts, but that wasn’t an issue with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Space Adventure. Space Pirate Pete is the only character up to no good, but before you know it even he becomes friends with the rest of the gang.

Both my daughters loved the special “treats” included with this DVD: a surprise, never-before-seen “Goofy’s Thinking Cap” episode and fun, glow-in-the-dark space-themed stickers! It’s an out-of-this-world package the kids won’t want to miss!

Released November 8, 2011 as a 2-Disc (DVD + Digital Copy) Combo Pack. Available online and at your favorite retail store. Suggested retail price $19.99 U.S./$24.99 Canada.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Great Outdoors Mickey Mote

clip_image001Are your kids ready for an outdoor adventure. Mine have been stuck indoors for MONTHS. You know in the Pacific Northwest it rains September through June, so since we have about a month left of rain we’re just going to have to live vicariously though Mickey Mouse. On May 24th Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is going to explore the Great Outdoors in, Mickey Mouse clubhouse: Mickey’s Great Outdoors. Mickey and his friends Donald, Daisy, Goofy and you can’t ever forget Pluto right are going camping fishing and exploring.

I suspect that after watching this it will be easier to get the kids to go on an “outdoor adventure”. This great title is another Mickey Mote title. The Mickey Mote is great for the kids to use and interact with the story. If you use the Mickey Mote setting it stops regular play and asks the kids a question and they need to respond the correct answer in order to continue the storyline.

The Episode list includes:

MICKEY’S GREAT OUTDOOR EPISODE LIST:

Mickey’s Fish Story – Daisy wants to find a fishy-friend for her goldfish Goldy – and we help her find other goldfish in the Jungle where we’re aided by the mysterious conga drummin’ Jungle-Pete!  Boom-boom-bap-boom!

Mickey’s Camp Out - Today Mickey and his friends are going to earn Clubhouse “Camp Out Badges” by completing two tasks – setting up camp and fishing for Gummy Fish.  Everyone’s planning to camp with a “Tent Buddy”, but Donald decides to camp by himself – and he soon learns that camping with friends is much more fun than camping by yourself.

Mickey and Minnie’s Jungle Safari - Minnie is determined to snap a photo of the rare Hula Hibiscus that only blooms once a year.  So the sensational gang go off on a jungle safari and explore new territory to find this legendary flower.

Daisy in the Sky - On Balloon Day, Daisy grabs a large batch of balloons and gets literally carried away along with Minnie and Pluto, who couldn’t hold her down. Mickey, Donald and Goofy kick into high gear to save their friends: they use a Giant Candy Cane (to rescue Pluto), a Party Horn (to warn animals out of the way), a Piggy Bank (to weigh down one side of an elevator so that Mickey can reach the top of the lighthouse), and a Toy Hammer (to fix the Ferris wheel).

Daisy’s Grasshopper - Daisy has a new pet grasshopper named Wilbur, but the playful hoppin’ fella hops away – and we help all our Clubhouse friends hop after him and find him before the end of the day.  Boing-boing!

Check out Daisy’s Grasshopper
