Seattle #TweetDrive 2010 Almost Wordless Wednesday

image

I LOVE using my influence on-line to make a difference in my community. Last week we had a tweet up in Seattle and I helped gather swag, donations and door prizes. The event was the Seattle Tweet Drive. I posted in detail about the Seattle Tweetdrive a few weeks ago when I started looking for sponsors and I’m so happy with all the companies that supported us. See the full list below! We had a great turnout and Look at what we did for the charity Treehouse! I’m exhausted and extremely behind on my blog posts, but I feel great because it was all for a really great cause. Club Sur donated the space, My Seattle Night Out organized the event, and local bands and entertainers donated their time and efforts for all of us to have a great time! We gathered around 333 toys total! Tweet Drive is going on nationally in many different locations, check Tweet Drive 2010 to find a location next to you.

Have A Big Klutz Holiday

With my husband sitting right next to me as I’m posting this, he asked, if Klutz is still popular? Yep, they are still popular. I saw a smart mom on an airplane just last week using Klutz to keep her kids busy. Klutz is such a fun company making great activity books. Some of them are perfect to take on an airplane to keep your child busy for hours. Others are just great for a rainy day activity. I’m amazed at how many different craft ideas and other fun projects they come up with. Not only do they get the attention of children but they also reach adults with some of their funny books. I like looking through one every now and then! My husband just said he liked them as a kid too, which is super cool that clip_image001[4]Klutz is generationally fun!

I’ve been enjoying different Klutz books for a few years now. They make all kinds of activity books for ages 4 and up, but I’ve let my kids play with a few of them and my kids are 2 and 1. The Only Coloring Puzzle Game, Dot-to-Dot Activity Book that I won 2 years ago was quite the winner with my daughter.

So any Klutz activity book is in my Christmas Guide this year. Keeps the kids minds active and off the TV.

Klutz Part Robot Part Toothbrush Activity Book Invasion of the Bristlebots Review and Donation

Klutzdotcom_BristleBotsCoverThe final book in the donation series from Klutz is Invasion of the Bristlebots. With this book you can create the ultimate maze rat, or just your own creepy crawly critter. Yikes get mom running for the hills when you set your little creation on the loose. This craft book makes activity time seem like play time for the little boy in your life. It is a great learning tool, allowing also for creativity and ingenuity. I heart Klutz.. This does not magically make your children want to brush their teeth, but will make youngsters feel that they should put all the pieces in their mouth. So don’t let your toddler play with it. ;-)

The book bristles with ideas for robot games and activities: race robots against each other, use the included punch-out walls to construct a bristlebot maze, stage a robot sumo-wrestling match. You can even customize your Bots with the provided wire legs, feelers, and beady eyes.

Klutz Paper Fashions Fancy review and donation

Klutzdotcom_PaperFashionsFancyCover

Klutz sent me a few more books for donation to the Toy Drive I am doing. I’m very thankful for being able to provide all these children with different toys. This book is the Paper Fashions Fancy craft book. In this book you can create the paper doll fashions of your heart’s desire. There are cut out patterns and plenty of pre-made designs that you can cut out and use; but there are also instructions on how to create your own. You are provided with trim, fabric and glue. Then when you are finished you can hang all of your designs on the set of hangers that is provided.

Klutz The Encyclopedia of Immaturity Volume 2

The Encyclopedia of Immaturity™ Volume 2

Three (3) winners will receive:

Klutz sent me a copy of Encyclopedia of Immaturity Volume 2 to review and then donate. My choice to donate it but I’m very excited that they chose me to review this fun new book. My husband likes it too. His words were, “this should be in someone’s office at work”. It made me laugh because it’s exactly what a bunch of programmers would sit around and do. We love our husbands but they sure do now how to be kids. Know what I mean?

In the Encyclopedia of Immaturity Volume 2 there are tons of activities for the older child to do for entertainment. I mean 10, or 13 and up with no cap on the age range. Remember having pencil battles in school. There are directions in this book. Also it tells you how to fake a cold, play indoor Frisbee golf, and to make a potty pal. I’m really enjoying the directions on how to make mom a diamond ring worth 1.10. It’s pretty cool. The Encyclopedia is and encyclopedia of gags. So have a great time. klutz page
