Treat Your Valentine with a Schwan’s Dessert Delivery Giveaway

I love Schwan’s! I’m not really sure why I haven’t looked into getting a delivery from them. They have so many great options to choose from. We had their Pot Pies last Fall and now we’re eating our way through their dessert menu. I even told them I would put together a video of us trying out their desserts and while I was away, my husband ate almost all the ice cream. It was my fault really, I didn’t tell him I was going to do a video review, and I don’t like fruity ice cream. I’m just not a big fan of seeds and Raspberries are full of seeds.

The night after I got home from my trip, he asked me if I wanted any ice cream. I asked him what we had, and we had Peppermint, Spumoni and Raspberry Rumble Premium Ice Cream from Schwan’s, I wasn’t so excited about it but I said that I needed to have a bite because I needed to write a review. So, I had a bite…. and… I wanted another… and I wanted another..

Dessert Trio from Schwan's

My husband got up and took the bowl with him, he said, you can have your own bowl I don’t want to share anymore with you. So we each had our own bowl. And I was really sad to find out that was all that was left. It was delicious! Oh So Delicious I want MORE. I wish it was sold at the grocery store because I want it right NOW!

I was shocked because I’ve never liked fruity ice cream before. MMM

But that wasn’t all they sent me. They also sent me microwaveable brownies and a bag full of frozen berries the Triple Berry Blend. My kids adore fruit!!! When I told them they get to have a brownie and fruit they were so excited. Bouncing off the walls excited.

schwan's desserts

Again, I wasn’t disappointed in the outcome. The kids had half of a brownie each and a bowl full of fruit. Me, I just had an entire browning to myself, because of all those seeds looking  out at me. So treat your Valentine to a Schwan’s Dessert Delivery Giveaway!

Party with Blue Bunny Ice Cream: Three Easy Ideas!

Blue Bunny Ice cream has some wonderful recipes and ideas on how to spruce up ice cream and use it as a festive party pleaser on their website. And I used Blue Bunny for two different parties this year.

For the first party, I took out all of the Christmas Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches and set out to make the Frozen Cookie Baklava. Yeah, I didn’t think about the details of making the recipe until the night of and was afraid to use lime juice in place of lemon juice, so I made it really simple instead. I cut up all the ice cream sandwiches into little triangles, and drizzled caramel all over the top. It was bite size ice cream made fancy for the party! And yea, I had a lot going on that night and didn’t get any photos. Christmas was quite quick this year, It’s the first year we were involved in church, the neighborhood, and pre-school. WOW, it’s been a blast, but I don’t know where all the time went either. Anyways, here is the recipe that inspired my ice cream creation!

Blue Bunny Frozen BaklavaBlue Bunny® Frozen Cookie Baklava

INGREDIENTS:
8 Blue Bunny®
Christmas Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches
3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/2 cup honey
1 tbsp. butter, melted
2 tsp. water
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
PREPARATION:
IMG_1076In a small bowl, stir together the walnuts, honey, butter, water, lemon juice and cinnamon.  Line a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper or non-stick heavy foil.  Place 4 ice cream sandwiches in prepared pan, cutting to fit.  Spread 1/2 the walnut mixture over the top; cover with remaining ice cream sandwiches, cutting to fit.  Spread remaining walnut mixture over the top; freeze at least 6 hours or until solid.  Cut into 12 triangles.  Serve immediately.
Makes 12 servings
Prep Time: 12 minutes*
*Freeze time extra

Blue Bunny Hot Cocoa Ice Cream BarsThe second party, I actually wasn’t even able to attend. So nothing special was created. I was able to pass off the Blue Bunny ice cream to a friend and she passed it around to all of our friends to try. I missed out because I love Blue Bunny. Locally, we don’t have Blue Bunny or any of their ice cream varieties. I miss Blue Bunny Ice Cream. I was really looking forward to trying the Hot Cocoa ice cream bars. Maybe next year I can do this again or go to a state that carries all of these wonderful Blue Bunny Holiday flavors and Blue Bunny Holiday Recipes.

This will be my final grand attempt at creating an ice cream treat for this year. I hope this goes well, and I’m going to have some better planning on my part.

Remembering Good Humor Ice Cream $10,000 #Giveaway

Good Humor was a very special treat indeed once upon a time. I love their chocolate ice cream bars, I think they are called the chocolate éclairs, because they are so decadent and unlike any other brand out there. Well, I guess after 90 years of making ice cream they would have an advantage.

Since revolutionizing the ice cream industry as the first ice-cream-on-a-stick, the Good Humor® ice cream brand has helped to create lasting memories for millions of Americans. This year, the iconic brand is celebrating its 90th anniversary and wants everyone to join in the fun creating new memories for generations to come.

goodhumorchocolate I remember receiving the ice cream off of a truck. It was delivered and I can’t remember how old I was or who had the delivery because this really wasn’t something that I had all the time. I see now that you can just go down to the grocery store and purchase the Good Humor Bar. I’m quite happy about that and noticed that last week they were on sale. MMMMM. I’m going to be re-living my childhood really soon.

“Each time Americans enjoy a delicious Good Humor ice cream bar, it takes them back to their childhood and the first time their parents introduced them to the classic ice cream treats,” said Andrea Lokshin, Brand Manager for Good Humor®. “As we celebrate our 90th anniversary, we’re thrilled to be able to share this milestone with the many parents, grandparents and even great-grandparents who helped us make the brand what it is today. And we are excited to pass on the brand’s rich history to a whole new generation of ice cream fans.”

They are sharing their excitement by giving away 10,000 prizes and 10,000 in cash. You have until September 6th to enter so hurry up and go purchase some ice cream.

Breyers Smooth & Dreamy Ice Cream Bars and Cookies Giveaway

breyers I had the opportunity to team up with Mom Central and try the new Breyers Ice Cream Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches. I ran out to Albertsons today to buy some of the Smooth & Dreamy Ice Cream and had one as soon as I put the kids down for bed. I gave one to my dh and well, he didn’t like it, but I had just devoured mine and was quite ready to eat another. Yeah, I know, this doesn’t fit in with my healthy eating, but a girl needs to take a break every now and then or she’ll just go crazy.

Good News is that they are lower in calories than most of their ice cream is. When it comes to ice cream, I’ve never been very good at a healthy serving size, so I know I should have just stopped at one, I just couldn’t.

With six rich and creamy flavors, including Chocolate Caramel Brownie, Vanilla Caramel Chip, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Vanilla Fudge Brownie, and Triple Chocolate Chip, Breyers Smooth & Dreamy bars and sandwiches offer something for everyone. And with no artificial flavors or colors, 160 calories or less and 4-6g of fat per serving, and delicious mix-ins and swirls, these bars and sandwiches make for delicious snacks and dreamy (yes I just did that) desserts.

Aloha Friday – Favorite flavor?

alohafriday5

Kailani says “In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response”. You should go to Kailani’s site and link up with Mr. Linky, but don’t be rude, be sure and answer her question.

My Question:

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

I love chocolate chip cookie dough and brand, Banana Pudding Blue bell, but we don’t get that in Washington, and Tillamook White Marble swirl. Tillamook has the best chocolate ice cream.
