All of those years I asked my mom, night after night, the agonizing question, “What’s for supper?” We said “supper” but I guess some of you might say “dinner.” Either way, I didn’t realize until I was the mom how annoying and taxing creating week after week of meal plans can be. Last week, I learned about a really cool website called EMealz. If you are the head of a family and in charge of planning every single dinner, this could seriously rock your dinner planning world.

If you sign up for E-Mealz, they will plan your entire week of meals for you and to top if off they will give you a grocery list with everything you need for the week! When I first heard about this, I had my doubts. I was worried that the recipes would be unhealthy, or too expensive, or wouldn’t be very family friendly. I WAS WRONG! E-Mealz has a wide variety of specialized menus that you can choose for your family. They offer menus for everything from “Picky Family” to “Gluten Free” to “On a Budget.” Financial advisor, Dave Ramsey (most famous for his Financial Peace University) even supports E-Mealz saying that it helps solve the problem of the “food, the biggest budget buster of all.”

For this review, I signed up for “Portion Control.” This menu is incredibly family friendly, healthy, and EASY. One of my favorites was the Italian Style Chicken Breasts. Within 30 minutes, I had a healthy dinner on the table that all of us enjoyed. I’d say that’s a success! Some of the other options this week? Firecracker Turkey Chili, Spice Rubbed Chili, and even a Broccoli and Cauliflower Cheese Quiche – such a wide variety!

Easy Italian Style Chicken Breasts Recipe

Last year I took Financial Peace University by Dave Ramsey a Christian Financial advisor that gives out the best advice. It’s so good if you stick to his plan saving money and paying off debt. We paid off quite a bit last year following his plan and I really trust his recommendations. On his website he recommends E-Mealz as a way to plan and save money meal planning and creating recipes. This is one of the recipes that reviewer Ashley has tried out. Her full review is to come very shortly.

While I was testing out E-Mealz, I prepared this meal for my family and it was a hit! I made a couple changes to suit what we had on hand, and what worked best for us, but that is one of the beauties of E-Mealz. It’s super easy to make adjustments if you need to!

Italian Style Chicken Breasts Recipe

Ingredients:

1 ½ lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
½ t salt
¼ t pepper
2 T olive oil
¼ c. white wine
9 oz bag fresh spinach
8 oz sliced mushrooms
14 oz diced Italian style tomatoes (un-drained)
1 c. shredded Italian blend cheese

Directions:

Sauté’ chicken in a large sprayed pan until lightly browned.
Add in remaining ingredients, except cheese.
Cover and cook 4-5 minutes longer.
Remove pan from heat and top chicken with shredded cheese.
Let stand until heat melts cheese. (Makes 6 servings)

I took out the wine, diced the chicken and plated it on top of some pasta. E-Mealz recommended you serve the dish with a side of California blend veggies and cantaloupe. Either way, it’s delicious! I hope you and your family enjoy!

Make Time For Family E-Mealz Planning Giveaway

A few months ago, my husband and I took a class called Financial Peace University. This class is a video class we took at church led by Dave Ramsey, radio personality and financial guru. He had it all, lost it all, and got it back and shares his experience and advice daily. We learned a lot, it was EYE opening and we’ve changed our lives. We plan things out more now and think before we BUY.

I was contacted by E-Mealz to host a giveaway and when I saw that it was a “Dave Ramsey Recommended” product, I was quite happy to put my name behind it too. E-Mealz relies on a team of experienced meal planners, writers and editors to create new dinner menus every week that are designed around grocery store sales, seasonal specials and diet preferences. For $5.00 per month, subscribers download a recipe plan for the week with a matching aisle-by-aisle grocery list. The easy-to-follow recipes usually contain fewer than seven ingredients to allow for prep times of less than 30 minutes. It also helps families stay within a predictable budget by being prepared with a detailed list to use at the grocery store.

The E-Mealz program provides a consistent and reliable approach to food budgeting by factoring the weekly cost of ingredients into each menu plan. Menus are created around a budget of $75 per week for families and $35 per week for couples.

E-Mealz was created by sisters Jane DeLaney, mother of four, and Jenny Cochran, mother of three. The sisters were frustrated by the challenge of coming up with healthy, budget-conscious meals for their own families and inspired by their own mother’s frugal ways, they launched the program in 2003.

The generous people over at E-Mealz have offered us a Discount Code:code MOMSTART for 10% off.

They have also offered us a giveaway.

This giveaway has ended. Congratulations to the winner, serena ames.
