Promotional Codes April Savings with Every Day Items Giveaway

Spring has sprung! For many of us, this means we’re dedicating a solid weekend cleaning up after winter. Between the repairs, replacements and intense scrub-down sessions, costs to get organized can quickly add up. pc hi res

That’s why coupon site PromotionalCodes.com is providing some frugal ideas and extra savings for April spring cleaning, plus a giveaway of a Dirt Devil vacuum, a Target gift card and 3 TurboTax e-files!

Frugal uses for everyday items

Salt. Believe it or not, you can use good old salt to clean up stains on clothing and coffee mugs. To clean clothing, simply stretch the fabric over a bowl, cover with salt and carefully pour boiling water over the salt. For removing coffee residue, rub the inside of the cup with a salted citrus peel.

Olive oil, vinegar and lemon juice. Combine a ¼ cup of each and you’ll have an all-natural furniture polish. This will make your spring cleaning efforts look even better with home décor that will look like new. Plus, your living room will smell amazing!

Hair dryer. Set your hair dryer to cool and point it on dusty shelves or intricate home décor to blow debris right off. Start from the highest shelf so you can use gravity to your advantage. Unfortunately, a hair dryer won’t accomplish all your vacuuming jobs, so enter to win a Dirt Devil below. (If your floors just can’t wait until April 5, or you only need accessories you can also get 25% off plus 99 cent shipping for all Dirt Devil purchases!)

Dishwasher. Use your dishwasher to get bath accessories to glisten and lighting to be more functional. Wash globe lights and fixtures on the top shelf in the delicate setting to restore original clarity, and shower heads in the pots and pans cycle to get rid of clogs and residue.

Save extra money by de-cluttering

Enable online bill payment. The average household receives about six credit card statements monthly, not including cell phone, utility and cable bills. And according to a recent report by the Internet Innovation Alliance, switching to online bill pay can save you approximately $47 annually since you eliminate postage, check reorder fees and pay-by-phone charges.

Organize food storage. Americans throw away a quarter of the food we buy, which adds up to $2,200 in annual food costs for the average family. How easily we forget about canned soups and leftovers simply because they are stuffed into the back of our pantry or refrigerator. Organizing and labeling food storage will help you reduce over-buying and use items up before they go stale or expire—you can easily find storage containers from Target. For additional Target.com savings, apply a code for $5 off $50 purchase + free shipping.

Shape up your finances and taxes. Whether you’ve been collecting receipts in a top drawer or have several scattered between your wallet and vanity, you may be able to squeeze extra cash out of them for tax purposes. Tax software like TurboTax can help you find extra deductions and credits that you may have missed—like for a new baby in your family! For even less tax clutter, file online and save 10% on TurboTax services plus a free federal e-file on PromotionalCodes.com.

Dirt Devil Gator 10.8 Volt made me scream

IMG_3132 Dirt Devil Gator 10.8 Volt.does not compare to an Oreck handheld vacuum. But the Oreck advertises the strength of picking up a bowling ball and holding it. So I had to think about what my needs are and the fact that it does answer some of my needs. The Gator Series can be found in several different voltages (10.8-18V). The price is also a great deal ($29.99-$59.99). You can pick them up at Target, Best Buy, and DirtDevil.com.

IMG_3142 This cordless vacuum is great for taking care of my stairs. The 10.8V is light and easy to handle but don’t use it on live spiders. The reason is they will just crawl right back out. I tried to suck up a spider and it crawled right back out when I was done. I almost screamed. Other than that it really does what I need it to. I can’t lug my hoover up and down the stairs trying to vacuum each stair so I can just use the Gator to clean it up. I also use it to get quick messes on the hard wood floor and my kids mats in the kitchen.

By pressing the two side buttons, the vac pops open, and you can dump your dirt into the trash without getting messy. But the filter looks awful but the good news is it is a reusable filter that you can rinse clean. My favorite part is the built-in crevice cleaner because it is so easy to use. The whole thing is easy.
