Care Bear Buddies DVD + Toy Review

Care Bears: Bear Buddies

I was just sent a copy of Care Bear Buddies to review and giveaway from Lionsgate. It explained a lot that I didn’t understand from the other Care Bears DVD we watched recently. I learned about their friendship and about the bad bear Grizzle. I just didn’t understand what he was at first, but he likes to play secretly and have fun just like the other bears. He would just rather hate the world publicly and spread gloom. Every good guy needs a bad guy and grumpy doesn’t count.

Product Description:

Care Bears™ DVD, Care Bears: Bear Buddies with eight never-before-released episodes from the top-rated Saturday morning CBS TV series. While supplies last, the all–new release comes packaged with a lovable toy bear buddy making for an incredible value.  These adorable toy bears come in 6 different color characters, but are available for a limited time only, so kids will be eager to search for their favorite color bears on store shelves – and collect them all!  Come journey with the Care Bears into Care-a-lot where the Care Bears learn about being true to themselves and each other.  Watch as Share, Oopsy, Love-a-lot and the rest of the Care Bears embark on new adventures that focus on “friendship” from creating a rockin’ music band to trying to cheer up a sad friend. Care Bears: Bear Buddies teaches kids valuable lessons about being true to themselves and each other, understanding, and forgiveness – themes of emotional intelligence that help kids develop and are mom-friendly.

The Care Bear Buddies came with a little Sunshine bear that is not meant for children under three. Both of mine are under three and I was shocked that the bear lasted to the end of our play date we had that day, but shortly afterwards when they didn’t want so share and they both had a piece of it it became the headless care bear. I told my daughter it died and my husband said that’s a bit morbid for a two year old to hear. Now she uses the word but doesn’t seem to understand the meaning. Oops, I guess care bears are all about life, happiness, sharing and caring. So my life lesson was not to use care bears for the harder lessons in life. ;-)

Care Bear Buddies was adorable and my children liked it. Zoe wanted to know where and what everyone was doing and her comprehension skills have increased so much. She asks, “what is Grizzle doing” “Why is she crying”.

Care Bears Tell Tale Tummies Review

cb_ttt_ocardM1.indd

The Care Bears aren’t what they used to be. They are still charming children with their adorable tummies and rainbow making skills.

My daughter has Share Bear. Share Bear is all about sharing but that’s not why Zoe has her. Zoe has her because she’s purple. We have called her baby and Zoe dresses her and keeps her close. There is also a new bear named Oopsy Bear.

So when we were offered the chance to review Care Bears I wanted to see if she could relate to the Care Bears. The answer was yes and I get asked every day can I watch Care Bears. I’m thankful there are 8 different short episodes so we can watch something different each time.

Care Bears: Tell-Tale Tummies is all about telling the truth or finding the truth. At first my husband and I both thought it was about food, but nope. Episodes include

“The Tell-Tale Tummy,” – The tummy tells all.

“Oopsy, the Hero,” – Oopsy’s oopsy makes him a hero and he doesn’t want to admit that it was just an oopsy.

“Bumbleberry Jammed,” – Grumpy finds the best Bubleberry bush and doesn’t want to share

“Desperately Seeking Mr. Beaks,” – The Care Bears help their friend find Mr. Beaks

“King of the Gobblebugs,”

“Bad News,” – You should always tell the truth when reporting the news

“Tour De Farce” – Riding bikes and why grumpy doesn’t like too

and “No-Snow Day.” – This one is about having a bad attitude

My favorite episode is Bumbleberry Jammed with Grumpy Bear as the center character. My daughter now says, I’m not grumpy. I’m not grumpy. I love listening to her learn new phrases. Zoe likes it all over and over and over again. I think Care Bears are second to Tigger and Pooh.

The all-new Care Bears television series airs on Saturday mornings on CBS as a top 5 rated show on US network TV on Saturday mornings, and currently enjoys 98% awareness among moms of girls aged 2-5 (Fall 2007 Q-scores). A beloved brand since the 1980’s, Care Bears continues to be one of the most recognizable and top preschool properties in existence (according to Lieberman Consumer Research January 2006).

Released by Lionsgate. Retails suggested for 14.99 but found for 12.00 at Amazon.
