National Sandwich Day Challenge With Arnold and Oroweat Breads November 3rd

We’ve been enjoying the Arnold/Oroweat Healthfull flax and fiber bread this week in honor of National Sandwich Day coming up. Did you know November 3rd is National Sandwich Day? I actually had no idea, until Oroweat told me. So we had Turkey and Mustard, and Ham and cheese. I’ve toasted up some grilled cheese and I got really creative with some fun spreads. I had a turkey sandwich with spinach and spiced sour cherry spread. The kids used the cherry spread to dip their veggies in. It was quite the success!

Sara Lee Iron Kids & Thin Style Buns

Sara Lee makes good bread and they keep making it better. We just recently tried the Sara Lee Iron Kids bread that offers a more nutritious white bread option for kids by containing as much fiber and more than four times the calcium as 100% whole wheat bread per two-slice serving. I’m always low on iron myself and looking to increase it in small doses as large once give myself a tummy ache. Eating the Sara Lee Iron Kids bread does not affect my stomach. Additionally, Sara Lee Iron Kids bread contains added Vitamin D. Another much needed perk living in the land of no sun.

We used the bread to have some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on one day, and turkey and cheese the next and then we also used it to make some really yummy egg toast. We’ve already almost made it through one whole loaf in a matter of two days.

Another product we are going to try really soon is the Sara Lee Thin Style Buns. The Sara Lee Thin Style Buns provide whole grain nutrition, with just 100 calories per bun and no high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors or flavors. Sara Lee Thin Style Buns are a delicious yet less-filling way to enjoy your favorite sandwiches.

Manna Organics Bread Review

A new national distributed bread company has just recently been introduced to the market. From Manna Organics come three new Bavarian Style Sourdough loaves: Sunny Sourdough, Multigrain Flax, and Whole Rye.

Manna Organics Bread

I didn’t know what Bavarian style bread was before getting these samples. The bread is very dense. One thing I like about bread is its fluffy light texture; so Bavarian style breads aren’t for me. HOWEVER, I did try a slice from each loaf for flavor and they were all taste.

Though Manna Organics’ Bavarian Style Sourdough isn’t my favorite texture, the taste is nice. I did give my remaining slices to a friend who likes Bavarian style breads and her family did enjoy each loaf. Manna Organics uses Old World baking techniques, high-quality ingredients to create their hand-crafted breads. Manna Organics’ is passionate about being organic while delivering taste and nutrition. I also like and appreciate that Manna Organics is a family owned and operated, artisanal bakery, which operates with national distribution through Nature’s Path.

My favorites of the Manna Organics new line is the Sunny Sourdough. Here is a suggested recipe:

Sourdough Bread Crostini with Roasted Carrot Hummus from Clean Cuisine & More

Thomas Bagel Thins Anyone? and my Meal Plan Monday

IMG_5289 Today for lunch I had a Thomas’ Bagel Thins sandwich. The Thomas brand made some new bagels and my husband bought a Costco size package of them a month or so ago. I was surprised because we don’t usually try things from Costco, we try them in a small package and then move onto Costco. Well, These are addictively delicious. They have so much flavor and are thin. So it’s not like eating a bagel with a ton of chewing. I toasted mine, put some honey mustard on it, added turkey and havarti cheese and it was good. Zoe liked the smell of it so much she asked for it for dinner, which is why this will also be the beginning of my meal plan this week.

Each bagel is soft and delicious. The Bagel Thin is just the right size, containing 110 calories each.  They’re available in 100% Whole Wheat, Cinnamon Raisin, Everything and Plain and can now be purchased at supermarkets, Walmart and Target stores nationwide.

Nature’s Own Breads, Bagels, Sandwhich Rounds and More #giveaway

Nature’s Own sent my family a whole bunch of bread. They sent us some Thin Sliced Bagels and some Sandwich Rounds. They sent us so much bread there was no way we could eat it all. Now, I was all for freezing it, but my husband said no way. So I had to give it away.

nature'sown

I went to my MOMS Club meeting at the beginning of the month and I said does anyone want some bagels ore Sandwich rounds. No one raised their hand. Then I said, “There is no high fructose corn syrup” and hands went up. I was able to share bread with four different moms. I love being able to share products with my friends, family and readers. That’s why I do more giveaways than reviews.

I love the Sandwich thins because you can have two slices, looks like one bun, for only 100 calories. I’m sure I spend too much time counting calories but it’s great to be able to feel like your eating more for much less.

Here is the kids eating them, Need I say more?
