Tasty Treat Thursday Quick & Easy Boboli Peach Cobbler Recipe

Thank you Boboli for saving my Tasty Treat Thursday! I had a recipe last week that I forgot to send to Louise in my daze of sickness between the husband, the kids, and myself. Well, this week I’m coming off a very brief vacation in NYC. Too brief … so tired! So glad Boboli could come

Quick and Easy Boboli Peach Cobbler

I altered this recipe which is in the Boboli Recipes catalog right on their website.

Quick & Easy Peach Cobbler

INGREDIENTS:
1 12” Boboli Crust, thin is best
1 24oz jar of Del Monte Orchard Select Sliced Cling Peaches in extra light syrup
2/3 cup oats
2/3 cups all-purpose unbleached flour
2/3 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoons cinnamon, plus extra for dusting
½ cup unsalted butter, melted

DIRECTIONS:

1. Place peaches to drain in a strainer.

2. Preheat oven to 450oF. Insert pizza stone if desired.

3. In a bowl mix dry ingredients (oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon). When thoroughly mixed add in butter until mixture is completely moist and crumbly.

4. Sprinkle a dusting of cinnamon on to Boboli crust. Place drained peaches on top. Top with crumble. (You might consider layering a bit – crumble, peaches, crumble.)

5. Cook Boboli dessert pizza in preheated oven for 10 minutes (or until crumble is golden brown).

6. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Add a French vanilla ice cream or whip cream for some nice cool add onto a hot dessert.

Quick and Easy Boboli Pear Tart

This is another altered recipe which is in the Boboli Recipes catalog on their Boboli website.

Dclip_image006IRECTIONS:

2. Preheat oven to 350oF. Insert pizza stone if desired.

3. In a bowl, mix almonds with flour. Stir in butter. Top on Boboli crust.

4. Sprinkle almond topping with cinnamon and 1 tablespoon sugar.

5. In a bowl, stir together pears and remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar. At atop the almond base.

6. Squeeze lemon juice evenly over pears.

7. Cook Boboli dessert pizza in preheated oven for 20 minutes (or until crust is golden brown).

Anniversary Chicken Pizza Recipe Using Boboli

Skip the delivery to save you the expense and wait time; MAKE IT BOBOLI!

For March Madness there isn’t a better way than to just have basketball themed pizzas. So here is my take on an orange pizza using no other than a Boboi pizza crust. It doesn’t get easier for a great party!

Anniversary Chicken Pizza

MAKING IT FROM ALMOST SCRATCH:

INGREDIENTS:
1 Boboli Whole Wheat Pizza Crust
½ package dry Ranch Dressing mix
¼ cup Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
2 boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts, cut into bit size pieces and cook
3 green onions, chopped
1 cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 strips of turkey Bacon, cooked crispy and chopped into pieces (divided)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 400oF. In a bowl combine chicken and teriyaki. Let set during other preparations.

2. In a bowl combine ranch and mayonnaise. Spread on Boboli crust.

3. Evenly spread green onions, chicken, teriyaki, and half the bacon on top of the dressing.

4. Sprinkle on cheese. Form remainder of bacon into lines to look like a basketball.

5. clip_image004Cook pizza for 10 minutes. Allow to cool for 2 minutes and serve hot. Though this is also yummy as cold pizza for breakfast! (or substitute chicken for eggs for a hot breakfast)

MAKING IT QUICK SUBSTUTIONS:

INGREDIENTS:
1 Boboli Crust
¼ bottled Ranch dressing
¼ cup Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
1 – 6oz package of precut and grilled chicken salad strips
2 tablespoons dried chives
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ jar of bacon bits (about 3 ounces), divided

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 400oF. In a bowl combine chicken, chives and teriyaki. Let set during other preparations.

2. Spread ranch on Boboli crust. Evenly place green onions, chicken, teriyaki, and half the bacon bits on top of the dressing.

3. Sprinkle on cheese. Form remainder of bacon bits into lines to look like a basketball.

4. Cook pizza for 10 minutes. Allow to cool for 2 minutes and serve hot.

So pick up some Boboli. Make a pizza and enjoy the rest of the Madness, especially if your bracket is still alive. Enjoy a little bracket fun by having everyone bring a pizza creation of their own. Cut the pizza slices small/thin. Have a pizza viewing, and a bracket with match-ups. Have people bracket the pizzas. Then let the dinning begin. Have people write their favorites until you get the ultimate winner.

Don’t forget to make a dessert pizza too: cinnamon, apple pie, peach cobbler … YUM!

Family Fun, Football and Boboli!

Written by Summer…..

clip_image002We’re footfall fans! My husband and I both love to watch it and we do so as a family with our two young sons every weekend. My husband also plays on a flag football league during the fall and spring. So I guess we actually live football in the fall.

The games start on Saturday with college ball. Our alma maters are UCLA and Nebraska (UNL). DVRs have changed our watching strategy and we can watch live games and record what we need for later viewing.

clip_image004To marry my husband I also had to promise to also love, honor and cherish da Chicago Bears. I’ve learned to be pessimistically hopeful every season. The only thing in the NFL that’s better than Thursday night football is all day Sunday football and better than that is the “extra game” on Monday (like a shot to cure the hangover) and the only thing better than that is THE SUPER BOWL!

When we’re busy all weekend we find ourselves munching on quick foods. This past Sunday we made an easy and quick at home meal with Boboli’s Special Edition Football Shaped Pizza Crust topped with sauce and mozzarella. Our family enjoys Boboli; this is not the first time we’ve eaten it though this is the first time I’ve had a shape besides the typical circle.

If you’ve never had Boboli, their crust is bready, but not too much so. It’s actually the perfect compromise for my husband and I; I like regular crust and he likes deep dish. Boboli seems to have the perfect sustenance that each of us likes to bite into.

clip_image006

When I plan our meals I do like easy and quick; Boboli has both of those covered, but what about nutrition? Here is the 411 on Boboli nutritional information.
Not too shabby though I’d prefer a whole wheat option (which they do offer in their normal circle crusts) with no artificial colors and natural preservatives (which they may or may not use, it’s not specified). On the upside their crust has very few ingredients for a processed carbohydrate. You can’t go wrong with the nutrition of pizza as you can get your family to eat some of those “dreaded” fruits and vegetables. My youngest son and I love to eat pineapple (fruit), ham (protein), and artichoke (vegetable) with tomato sauce (vegetable) and mozzarella (dairy) on top of crust (grain).

But what would you do with a football shaped Boboli? PARTY TIME! Just in time for the bowl games and the end of local leagues. The host can provide the cheese and sauce and have every attending family bring enough Boboli Special Edition Football Shaped Pizza Crusts for their family and one topping with enough to share. Then simply set out all ingredients and allow everyone to create their own perfect pizza! Cook pizzas using both the oven and grill for maximum cooking capability. No more guessing what to order for your big game celebration! Boboli also offers Boboli Tips & Ideas as well as Boboli Recipes which you can include on your party evite to get people thinking about what they might bring.

Thank you to Boboli for supplying me with a sample Special Edition Football Shaped Boboli Crust and a $5 coupon for Boboli products of my purchasing choice. The products were supplied free of charge to facilitate this review.
