No, well look out because it’s that time of year in the stores and yep now we’re going to be talking about Christmas here at MomStart too. I’m working on some holiday projects and ways to pay it forward and Munchkin is working on ways to Pail it forward.

You know Munchkin, the makers of the Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail among other wonderful baby products right? “At Munchkin, we always look for ways to make the lives of moms easier.  ARM & HAMMER Baking Soda has been trusted for generations for odor control, so we incorporated it into our revolutionary diaper disposal system to help today’s moms maintain a nursery free of odors,” said Doug Gillespie, Munchkin Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  “We’re certainly proud of the steps Munchkin takes to create innovative products, and these research results are a true testament of our dedication to providing new options for parents.”

Now it comes in pink and blue:

That Stinks! – But the Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail by Munchkin doesn’t! Review & Giveaway

At the end of every week, or actually it only takes one really big stinky diaper for it to happen, my son’s room reeks. We try to only change the trash bag once a week, but when it really smells it really smells. So we take it out as needed and I feel it’s a big huge waste of a trash bag. Well, Munchkin and Arm & Hammer came to our rescue recently by sending us the Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail by Munchkin.

Now, I’ve never believed that a diaper pail would do anything except give me a routine that I had to follow and keep up with. Munchkin and Arm & Hammer saved me again by devising a simple and easy to use diaper pail. Yes, I’ve tried diaper pails before Munchkin and Arm & Hammer and I was never satisfied, I think I’m finally satisfied! Follow our photo review:

I found that Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail by Munchkin was easy to load and unload. All you have to do is lift the tabs up to close and then let it fall out of the diaper pail. Then open the latch and pull the bag out or lift up the diaper pail all together and you will find the bad sealed on the floor. It’s all much easier than any of the other diaper pails I’ve tried and been unhappy with in the past. It turns out, I’m not alone, an independent research firm designed and managed an in-home test of the two products during June and July 2010.  Participants, which included randomly chosen mothers with children in diapers throughout the U.S., were provided with both products to test in their homes under real life conditions for seven days each.  Results indicate a clear preference for the ARM & HAMMER Diaper Pail.

The ARM & HAMMER Diaper Pail neutralizes odors in the nursery through a patented odor control system with the power of ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda at its core.  For more information, visit www.diaperpail.com.

Green Tip: Buy Chemical Free Products This Year, Here’s Our Chemical Free Product List

This marks the last green tip from Summer in our 31 days of  Red and Green here on Mom Start. Hopefully Summer will grace us with many more green tips and steps on making our lives more eco friendly in the future. Her last tip is about buying chemical free products and these are her chemical free product selections.

Are you ready to begin the New Year? Moreover, is your house ready for the New Year? Try and make yourself greener in the New Year by purchasing products not tested on animals and chemical-free. It is ok to start off with small changes in your toiletries. You know, small changes like in your shampoo, conditioner, make-up, lotions, toothpaste, etc. are a great place to start. I’ll share with you some of my favorite chemical free products:

Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body WashTrader Joe’s Refresh (for about $2 a bottle it’s a steal)

LotionsSt. Ives lotion

Deodorant – Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant and Tom’s of Maine (make sure there’s no antiperspirant and that it’s aluminum free)

Lip Balm (and Other Beauty Products) – Burt’s Bees Lip Balm

ToothpasteTom’s of Maine

In finding and using products like these I feel good about my body and the environment. If needed, take little steps to introduce products such as these into your home. These are products I actually use and love. Be sure, as with any new product, that you test new products on a small area of skin if you have sensitive skin or believe you may have a reaction on a product.

Thank you for joining me in my red and GREEN December 2010 adventures! Hope I gave you some great ideas that made you and yours healthier and happier. Happy New Year!
