MomDot is the awesome place to hang out from time to time. Sometimes, I look at the posts and I think why is there something titled Girls and thongs or why is there a but crack showing today. Well, If you take the time to actually READ the posts you’ll see. Girls should be wearing thongs and well women should be watching the clothing that they wear.
Anyways, the point is, they partnered with Dyson for moms to become testers. I want to test this DC 25 Rollerball Animal vacuum. Why?
Because

This dog sheds like nothing else. I grew up with a German Sheppard and one summer my stepmom shaved the dog because she was tired of vacuuming up all of the dog hair and using tape to get the rest. You may think, well, that’s one dog and it’s winter. They shed all year round. They shed a summer coat and a winter coat. They are always shedding hair. It is everywhere.

If you look in between the pillows you can see a new hair. Yes He looks guilty, because he is. HE IS GUILTY OF SHEDDING.

My other reason is because of my kids. My son is 100% boy and he sheds everywhere. What does he shed. Somehow, he stores Cheerios on his body after every meal. I find bits and pieces of cheerios everywhere. EVERYWHERE. In his bed, on the carpet, gee.

If you are chosen you do NOT GET to keep the vacuum. But you get to find out if the DC 25 Rollerball Animal vacuum is worth the money. There are other perks but no one knows what those are until the end. I don’t care what the perks are, My husband and I just want to know if this vacuum works.

If you are so inclined, please TWEET @Momdot @Momstart wants to be a Dyson Diva.

If you could only eat ONE food on Thanksgiving Day, what would it be? Do you have a home cooked meal for Thanksgiving or do you go out to eat? Does your family dress up?
I would love to eat Mexican food. We do this for Christmas at my grandmothers because by the time you have had four or five holidays (big family), everyone is tired of Turkey. Mexican food is my all time favorite food.
We’re going over to my MOMS Club. We always have a home cooked meal, although; last year since I was pregnant my husband wanted to take me out for dinner but I was too tired. So we had mac and cheese.
No, we don’t dress up. I do for Christmas though!
One more day to go!

Day Ten (November 25): Kimberly, All about KimberlyDo you decorate for the Holidays? Do you have a themed Christmas tree? Share pics! Do you think there is such a thing as OVER decorating?

I don’t have any pictures of our tree because I was pregnant. I don’t think you can over decorate and my husband would love a yard to do a Griswald Christmas with blow up decorations and fill up the whole yard. We have candy cane lights to go up our side walk.

These are two pictures of my daughter last year around Christmas. This is her Christmas dress and coat. We must have been getting ready to go to church. I don’t look dressed up but I couldn’t fit into anything decent.

Most unusual gift you have received? Best gift? Do you re-gift?

I usually don’t re-gift except for White Elephant gifts.

My best gift, was a cutting board my husband got me for my art. It is so easy to use and I can cut matts out to matt my art work. In college I majored in computer science but my emphasis was art. So I like to paint using water colors, oils, and acrylics. Oh wait.

Two years ago, we had a winter storm and we were without power for a week. I was 9 months pregnant and ready to burst. No shower, no heat, no light after four pm. I was miserable. When we called the power company they said we would be lucky to have power before Christmas. I was so depressed at the thought of spending Christmas in the dark. We got power back before Christmas. YEAH.

My most unusual gift. Nothing comes to mind.

DAY SEVEN QUESTION

Tell us who is on your naughty list? Who is on your nice list? Why?

Target is on my naughty list.

For those of you who have no read my post. Target was on the new saying that they are expected to have lower than normal prices on their website to compete with Walmart, but don’t get your hopes up because they may not honor the low price. I ordered a car seat from Target as did MANY other moms and I got an order confirmation, and even ebates got an order confirmation from Target. Then they sent me a cancellation. Saying we’re sorry, this was a price mistake.

Hmmmm. Well, I think they should honor the price. If I was in the store they would honor the price, why is it that websites don’t have to honor their prices. People are so upset over this they have decided to boycott Target. I don’t know how I can boycott Target. We don’t have a Walmart. I’m going to try to use Rite Aid and order on-line more so that I can boycott Target.

My Nice list?

My children of course. I love my children and they are so special and sweet. As are all of your children I’m sure.

Back to the naughty list…

I am on the naughty list. I am so far behind on my blogging because of this blog party. I don’t know how most of you are able to post to this party every day and do all of your other posts. I have a three reviews and some more I’m supposed to be working on and all I want to do is have fun in this party. I’m still not done posting to all of the day three participants, let alone starting on day four.

Thanks for stopping by.

Blog Party Day 6

First I wanted to answer some questions from yesterday.

The trick or treat was organized by warning the neighborhood first. My MOMS Club dropped off bags to a neighborhood a week before Halloween with information on the bags saying we would be back at 11:00 in the afternoon to pick up the bags. So we got our kids all dressed up for Halloween and drug wagons around the neighborhood and picked up the food. We ended up with 20 bags of food.

I was hoping for more, but we noticed a few notices in the neighborhood for water shut off. That is one step away from losing your house. It was a nice neighborhood so I was surprised to see so many.

Favorite holiday memory from YOUR childhood?

My favorite memory is when my family would put the tree up. We would turn on the Christmas music and have a glass of eggnog. Then we would decorate the tree. My dad says we used to fight over who got to put up the star, but I don’t remember fighting all I remember is getting everything out and putting the ornaments on the tree.

We also had a candle decoration that when you light the candles the fan at the top would go around and around. It would also jingle a bell on every rotation. These are the kinds of memories I hope my children can have.

When do you start shopping? What do you do for a budget and do you stick to your budget?

This is the first year that we have already started shopping for Christmas. This is also the first year that we have ever had a budget where we are keeping track of receipts and seeing if we are sticking to a budget. We have decided to start spending a little on Christmas every month since we made our budget last month.

Thanks to Costco, and Fred Meyer was are staying on budget and getting getting some money back. Both stores have a membership where you get a percentage back of what you spend. You have to spend it in their store but we will no problem. I get all of my fresh produce at Costco. Saving Saving Saving that is what I like to do.

I’m going to have this post at midnight, but it won’t have the sponsors or the link back to MomDot until I get up in the morning.

MomDot- BP Day One

Introduce us to your family

The party at MomDot

Merry Christmas from my daughter and I. I am Louise.
We love the snow and we had a ton of snow last year.

I am a mother of two and a wife to a very loving man with a very strong faith in God. He works at Microsoft doing top secret stuff. (Just kidding but he usually can’t talk about what he’s doing).

We got married after I graduated from college and moved up to the home base of Microsoft. After being married five years we were blessed with our daughter.

Zoe – her name means “full of life” and she lives up to her name every day.

She is still a bundle of joy now that she is 21 months old.

My son, is the biggest crack up ever. He has us in stitches every day. I love watching him grow and change and develop. Learning how to pick stuff up and say everything his sister says. It is amazing how much he learns from just watching her. So that is my family in a nut shell teeny tiny nutshell.

Christmas is small for us. It is just a close family of four for us. Going to Texas is hard, but that is where all the family is. So maybe next year we will go there but this year and last year (i was too pregnant to go anywhere).

I have to answer the question, “Why do I deserve to win?”

INTRO

What makes me special, what makes me stand out from other mom bloggers. I have two children, no; I think there are moms out there that have many more children than just two. We need this, well, no, do I want to win yes.

I asked my husband to answer this question and he flat out said, we don’t deserve to win. Well I suppose that is true, but I am going to tell you my story anyways.

STORY

My daughter was born Jan 1 2007. My stepmom came up a few days after she was born and helped out for a few days. Then my mom came after a few more days and hung out with us. I wanted my dad to meet my daughter so I took her down to see him. I got pregnant (didn’t expect it to happen so fast). We went to visit my family. Oh yeah, my dad and stepmom live in Texas, I live in WA. My mom and stepdad live in Florida. I MISS MY FAMILY!

I told my dad and stepmom I was pregnant and we had some laughs and it was back to WA. I had my son in March of this year and I didn’t have any help. My husband couldn’t even take off of work at the time. He was leading a project. So I was so ALONE with two kids I mean two babies. I got depressed and couldn’t breastfeed and I got more depressed. Well, my mom and grandmother came up to visit, so I put my depression aside and spent a few days with them.

Well, I’m not depressed anymore. I found a MOMS Club in my area and made some really great friends. I have found the blogging community and I stay really busy and active now. My only problem is and this is why I want to win. My dad still hasn’t seen his grandson. I would give anything for him to meet his grandson for Christmas. I can’t fit it into the budget to buy all of us tickets, that and the idea of traveling by myself during the holidays with two kids, two car seats and a bunch of grumpy passengers is not something high on my list. I would love to fly them up here.

My husband and I made a budget last month. We are not going to be putting anything extra on the credit cards this year. We had no idea how hard it was to stay on a budget. Nor did we have any idea how expensive kids are. We aren’t in an economic crunch like a lot of families are but we do see how important it is to stretch the value of a dollar.

CONCLUSION

When you add up the mom things I do: play dates, fundraising, blogging, reviewing; I feel like the average underachieving mom. Boy, moms sure are hard on themselves. J I’m nothing special, just a mom, a wife, and a daughter who would like her father to meet his grandson. That would be my Christmas dream.

Thanks for having this contest. If I win or not it was GREAT to get this out off of my chest.
