Even though it’s been 10 years since my first Mother’s Day I can still remember how it felt to be told, “Happy Mother’s Day” for the first time. So many people called me up and wished me a Happy Mother’s Day and it felt amazing. Zoe was only four months old at that time and wasn’t sleeping through the night yet so I was still tired and ragged but I was so in love with her and being a mom.
One thing that’s really fun for me is that my birthday is also in May so we celebrate almost the entire month. We went to the zoo and daddy took on feeding her.
We went hiking
We visited friends. And I got a lot of smiles.
Everyone I knew told me Happy Mother’s Day. Even my mom and dad called me to say it to me, which was weird but still felt amazing.
Pampers wants to be the first to wish moms a Happy Mother’s Day.
Pampers is always trying to do great things for others and I love being part of their Baby Board team. Pampers wants to be the first to wish moms a Happy Mother’s Day, and that means talking to them in the middle of the night to capture those moments you saw in their video above. They also are allowing me to help a mother on her first Mother’s Day. I chose my sister. For those of you that follow me on Facebook you know that my sister’s baby was born six weeks early. He had to have emergency surgery and was able to go home. What I didn’t know until recently is that he’s been having complications from the surgery. He’s now two months old and they are a mess. Not only do they have to get up to give him nightly feedings they also have to do nebulizer treatments and monitor his breathing. They could use a good night’s sleep.
In just two weeks I’m going to be going down there to see if there is anything I can do to help them get some sleep. My kids will do some chores for her, I hope to be able to cook and at night if they will let me, I’m willing to do some of the breathing treatments, but I also know that might be something they need to just do themselves.
I’m also going to do something special for her on Mother’s Day itself. Since it’s her first I want to help make it as memorable as mine was. I’m going to get her some flowers, she LOVES fresh cut flowers. I’m also going to maybe get her a spa day or at least get her a gift card to her favorite hair salon. What else do you think I should do for her? Maybe even just filling up her fridge while I’m there with food could make a big difference. What do you guys think?
