Sometimes, it’s the smallest things that have the biggest impact. A kind word on a bad day, a cold glass of water when it’s hot outside – or something that saves you time in your daily routine. For me, one of these "Aha!" moments happened when I got my very first dishwasher a few months back. Being able to cut down on time spent cleaning the kitchen has a big ripple effect on making other areas of my life more efficient!

imageThis is what happened to Lee and Morty Kaufman, the stars of this adorable Swiffer campaign. We see how 90-year-old Lee ditches her heavy mop and bucket – along with rickety stool – in favor of the lighter, portable Swiffer WetJet and a 360° Duster with extension to reach higher areas. They are the cutest couple and I can relate to how much of a difference it makes when you simplify your cleaning routine. In fact, I too have stood on a wobbly chair to dust while my fiance Jai bit his nails!

Besides using time-saving cleaning devices, Jai and I conquer household chores by dividing them up. Since we are both full time business owners, we both contribute to the task of keeping the house up – who tackles which task all depends on what hours each one of us is working. Since we don’t have a lot of time, we’re all about finding creative ways to keep up with everything. I’ll take a phone call on a bluetooth headset while I tidy up, or Jai will start a load of dishes when he walks by the kitchen. Like Lee and Morty, we work as a team – although Jai’s much more help with the cleaning part than Morty is. ;)

What are your tips for conquering household chores?

  1. Shop with Me Mama says:

haha! i love that commercial and swiffer!

  2. I love my switfter duster!! I divide and conquer – small amounts of cleaning every day!

  3. This is such a clever and fun way to market that little cleaning genius!

  4. If you see something lying on the floor as you walk past, pick it up and put it away on the way to wherever you’re going. Also, if there are dirty dishes in the kitchen, I load 5 dishes into the dishwasher each time I go in the kitchen–which, with 3 kids is often. I don’t usually get a big chunk of time to do cleaning so bit by bit works.

  5. I use my swiffer wet jet almost every day. Fun video!

  6. I have to have the 90s station playing on my Pandora app! It gets me in the mood to clean! Or at least it helps make the cleaning time bearable!
