No Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

By Summer:

One of my New Year resolutions is to cook with no sugar for my family. Most of my baking goes to work with my husband (so you will still be getting sugary recipes from me), but for the few goodies that stick around I want them to be healthier than normal sweets. I have posted other low sugar cookie options, but this one offers NO SUGAR ADDED. You’ll also notice I’ve used whole wheat flour. My next goal will be to replace the extracts with actual vanilla bean (which I’ve only worked with briefly before) and almond which might be difficult for the desired intense flavor.

No Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

½ cup honey
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 large eggs
1/3 cup ground flaxseed
¾ cup quick oats
2 cups Hodgson Mill’s Whole Wheat Flour
1½ semi-sweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350oF.

2. Combine all ingredients into your Kitchen Aid stand mixer using the flat beater attachment. (I add my ingredients in order of appearance in case you’re interested.)

3. Place a dozen “drop cookies” onto a cookie sheet and back for 10 minutes.
