Do you remember what your life was like 10 years ago? Has anything improved or changed? For me 10 years ago I was getting ready for a special day. I was still in college and counting down the days to graduation. I was also looking forward to moving from Oklahoma/Texas to start a new life with my fiancé. Andrew and I have been together for over 10 years, but this next June we’re going to be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. So when I was asked to share a picture of myself from 10 years ago, I figured a wedding picture was close enough.
Life was simple then. I had work, school and time for friends.
Flash forward ten years and I’m a mother of two, working from home, and even with preschooler’s feel like a mad mom in a mini van. We have school, groceries, activities, cleaning. I’m running the house, I’m running a business, and raising kids. I would say the one thing that hasn’t changed is that I was on my computer as much then as I am now. 10 years ago I was using my laptop to find a job for after graduation. Now I’m using it to work. I never would have seen myself 10 years ago being a stay at home mom and having my own business at the same time. I never would have imagined myself getting to experience things like waling the red carpet, interviewing celebrities weekly, and having the two adorable children that I have. I wouldn’t trade the job of being a mom for anything though!
In the technology field 10 years feels like 100 given how quickly products morph, grow and fall out of fashion. The price of a computer has gown down and everything inside of them is bigger and better. Speaking of technology, did you know that Windows XP and Office are 10 years old this month too? Time flies by!
Celebrate Windows XP’s 10 year anniversary by sharing what life was like 10 years ago for you.
