Have you noticed that Disney Living and Mattel have been using Toy Story toys to make animation, it’s called Toymation. It’s so cute and old school awesome. I have an inside look into toymation to share with you.
This inside look at the conception and creation of the all-new, space-themed “toymation” vide featuring the Toy Story Buzz Lightyear Command Center and action figures from Mattel reveals the inspiration for the exciting stop-motion short: the imaginations of children. This video included Disney Character Artist George McClements and Mattel Toy Story Designer Chris Down; Toy Story Buzz Lightyear Spaceship Command Center (SRP $49.99) and character action figures (SRP $10) from Mattel.![]()
The toys were a lot of fun for Zoe and Miles. I see these as toys they will go back to and keep playing with. They, Miles even more than Zoe, loves to talk to his toys and create his own stories. He loves to act them out and it’s this kind of imagination that I love too. Listening to him sometimes just cracks me up!!!
They were having quite the adventure!![]()
To have a little fun with the new Toy Story Buzz Lightyear Command Center, Mattel sent us a few toys to make our own toymation. Now my children are only 3 and 4 and they do have quite the imaginations but putting and entire story to video is a little bit difficult. I tried really hard to keep it natural with them, but it might still feel a little over directed. It was fun though! The Toy Story Space Rex Figure and the Toy Story Space Woody Figure
are easy enough to get out of the package and they seem to be quite durable. Miles and Zoe both wanted to be Woody, until they saw the space command center then they wanted to fly it. We had quite a bit of fun.
So what did you think of our little video?
