Yes I am up for video challenges, My heroes are my two grandmothers, both are cancer survivors and have ALWAYS been there for me, and Alias is my favorite show, but is not a sitcom now that I think about it.

I Have the Shoes, Now Which Dress Should I Wear?

Just a reminder, I’m attending a Disney Press Junket for the red carpet premier of Gnomeo and Juliet with Elton John and 14 other bloggers.

We have three days of events and the dress code is

Friday, 1/21 – Casual attire.

Saturday, 1/22 – “Nice” casual attire.

Sunday, 1/23 – “Nice” attire (the actual red carpet event which is an afternoon premier so we were told to leave the ball gowns at home, but since I never get to dress up I’m tempted to wear one anyways)

And I need your help still! I have no idea about Fashion, so Fashion for a fancy press event I’m completely lost.

I can’t thank you all enough for helping me to choose a pair of shoes. So with the dress from Karen Millen you all said heels or boots with a heal. So How about these boots?

Now, my neighbors and friends all offered me a look into their closets. I put on a fashion show for my husband last night and he took photos of me in all of the dresses, and out of 10 dresses this is what I have narrowed it down to.

I Need Help in the Hillshire Farms Most Wanted Sandwich Vote Apple Champ!

There are 15 different sandwich recipes all competing for the Hillshire Farms Most Wanted Sandwich. The winner will receive 5,000 to keep and another 5,000 to donate to charity. We had to choose our charity up front, and I chose to give mine to The Eastside Domestic Violence Program. So your voting is going to make a huge difference, no matter who wins, a very worthy charity is going to win too! Each of us competing against each other brought our game day faces as we went head to head making our local fresh variety sandwiches. I created the Apple Champ:

Potato Bread

Honeycrisp Apple (grated with a cheese grader) If you can’t find a honeycrisp let’s use a granny smith apple
Hillshire Farm Signature Honey Ham
Sharp Cheddar Cheese Slice
Honey Mustard dressing

Directions:

1. Use an cheese grater to grate up the apple, by grating the apple you can add as much or as little apple as you like. Spritz with some lemon juice if you want the apple to keep it’s fresh look and color

3. Place one slice of cheddar on the ham

4. Place the grated up apple on the sandwich

5. Drizzle some honey mustard over the top of the apple

Office Of Emergency Management Disaster Preparedness Kit Giveaway

With winter all around us all around the country I’ve been tuning into the Weather Channel and local weather stations every night. I went into freak out mode last week when they were predicting 8 inches of snow with more on the way, so I sent my husband out to get our family Winter Weather ready.

We purchased chains, and stocked up the refrigerator. We made sure we had candles and batteries for all of the flashlights. Now, I’m not sure if I should say that we were lucky the storm changed to rain, or if I should say we’re sad that the storm changed to rain. Either way, our preparedness was not needed. But it never hurts to be over prepared.

They keeps saying with with this La Nina season about to switch in February we could still see major winter weather, and many parts of the country already are. Are you prepared?

OEM (Office Of Emergency Management) would like to encourage New Yorkers to Resolve to be Ready this year, and prepare themselves for an emergency (weather or worse) by taking three steps: 

Make a Plan

Get a Kit

Be Informed.
