I’m attending the red carpet premier of Gnomeo and Juliet with Elton John and 14 other bloggers on behalf of Disney and I want to dress appropriately. We have three days of events and the dress code is
Friday, 1/21 – Casual attire.
Saturday, 1/22 – “Nice” casual attire.
Sunday, 1/23 – “Nice” attire (the actual red carpet event which is an afternoon premier so we were told to leave the ball gowns at home, but since I never get to dress up I’m tempted to wear one anyways)
So I’m going to be looking at my friends and their closets for help. But I did go out shopping with the kids the other day and I bought a dress, but I went really safe so if it’s not red carpet approved by you guys then I’ll wear it on the day before. I just need to know what category the dress falls into and if you like the boots or the heels better?

I’m taking the dress with me on the trip no matter what, the question is do I wear this dress on Day to as Nice Casual or day three, nice!???
I like it best with the heels. I think you could wear it for day 3 if you don’t find anything else you like, but it would work for day 2 as well.

I’m still going to look for day 3 and probably wear this on day 2, but who knows. I just don’t have as many dress up clothes as I used to, I don’t have a use for it anymore being a mom.
I LOVE your dress … footwear is a tough call. I actually like it better with boots … kind of a cool urban look.

I haven’t tried on your dresses yet. I’m going to do that later this afternoon. I love the tiny one, but I’m really afraid it’s going to be too small.
I am leaning towards the boots.
heels.. for sure. if you did boots they need to be high heels with a skinny heel on them.
I think the dress with heels would be nice for day 2. =)

In all honesty the boots I’m not digging. The dress looks better with the heels. If you were going to go with boots with that dress I’d get some pointy toed ones.
Like the idea of the dress with the boots – just not sure I like the dress with those boots. If you were to do a boot I’d go with something sleeker and less chunky of a heel. The dress itself is perfect! Love it.

I’m going to the same event and I’m having a hard time figuring out what to wear too.
I like the dress and I like it better with heels. I do like the boots too, in fact I bought a pair for the trip too.
I guess you could go either way as far as the shoes are concerned.
Its funny that you bought this dress and you plan on wearing it either day. I have two dresses I’m brining. One I’m leaning more towards Sunday and the other I really like (with boots) that I’m toying with wearing on Saturday.
I think the boots would look best with that dress on Day 2, and the heels would be nice if you’re planning to wear the dress on Day 3. Just my 2 cents!

And an awesome score on the boots! They’re very hip. I would say the heels, though, with the dress. If you were going to wear boots with the dress, you’d want boots with heels – preferably a skinny heel, to keep it dressier. I’d vote Day 2 for the dress, but if you wanted to wear it for Day 3, those boots with a skinny jean and top could work for day 2, depending on the top (some glitter or something shiny and one-shoulder) and wash of the jeans (dark).

Boots…Um No! Guess What? I’ll see you there. I’m going too!! HOW exciting. The dress is super cute and My gosh I have nothing to wear. I think the only thing I do have is shoes. but going in heels and nothing else won’t work. lol

Heels. Wish I had known you were going! I Got invited too but couldn’t make it and was real nervous not knowing who else was going to be there!!! It would be my first flight and I don’t have anyone to watch my sons on Friday!! Good luck girl, wish I had said yes and found a babysitter then we could have met!

If you’re cold do the boots, if you’re warm to okay feeling do the heels … that’s what I’d do.

I love that dress! I would wear it with the heels. The boots would go better with a more casual dress, in my opinion, or skinny jeans. I agree with LMC…a boot with a heel would work better with that dress.

I vote for the heels with the dress. If you do want boots, I would suggest (like someone else already did) a more dressy style. I have a pair of more pointy-toed ones you can borrow (what size of shoe do you wear?).

I’m a shoe size 8.5 – 9 depending on the shoe. Orshi brought over two dresses for me to try. One of them was a 0 and way too small but the other is a maybe. I don’t really like heals so I only have that one pair pictured above. Can’t wait to see you and Avery on Friday!

I like the boots and the dress, although, not together. The heels would be more appropriate in this instance. I’m so sad I had to miss out of joining you in this event. I was invited but had to turn it down because I couldn’t bring baby and since I’m still nursing, that would be impossible. I’ll have to live through you and the rest of the bloggers! Have fun and can’t wait to read the posts about the Premiere.
