Holiday Suave Body Wash Lather it up

So yesterday you might have noticed that I was complaining about not having enough time to take a shower, well, what I absolutely love is taking a bath. I love love love taking a bath and find that I usually only have time to take a bath when I’m out of town. Of course, I don’t think I’ve used my own tub since February. Sometime in February I noticed that my tub was broken. There was a crack in it and with this being a new house I just thought that was unacceptable. Plus, all I could think about was water leaking into the bottom of the tub into the sub flooring and then mold and mildew growing. Anyways, it took me 6 months to work up the nerve to call up someone to come and fix it. I finally did..

But..

It took another 2 months for someone to actually come out and fix it. I’m not a pushy person, but I Really need to learn how to be. Then next time something in the house needs to be fixed I won’t have to wait six or more months. Aye yi yi. But I can finally take a bath and when I do I’m using one of the new Suave Holiday Body Washes…

Suave Body Care makes it easy by delivering the scents of the season right to your shower with Suave Naturals® Limited Edition Holiday Body Washes in the following variants:

· Candy Apple Luscious Body Wash

· Holiday Pear Refreshing Body Wash

· Peppermint Bliss Shimmer Body Wash

· Toasted Vanilla and Sugar Indulgent Body Wash

I love body washes, and whenever I’m out of bubble bath I just dump in some body wash to make my bath time extra special. I picked out the Peppermint Bliss. I love the smell of Peppermint, it makes me feel like it is the holidays. I love it so much that I love to boil some water on the stove and throw peppermint sticks in it to make the house smell like Peppermint.  The Peppermint Bliss Shimmer Body Wash is my favorite body wash so far in the Suave line. I’ve tried quite a few of the Suave Body Washes as I love to try out new smells. It’s probably my love of Christmas that makes this scent my favorite, so I know I’m going to miss it since it’s only around for a limited time and currently available at Wal-Mart.

Hartz Ultimate Pet Gift Guide Giveaway

I posted about The Hartz Ultimate Pet Gift Guide a little bit ago here on Mom Start. We have a dog now so my interest in dog toys is back. Abby, our chocolate lab is the cutest four legged animal I know of but I am quite biased seeing as she is my dog. Of course, if you asked me between the hours of midnight and 5 am, she’s not that cute!

imageAbby is lying down on the job here. Get to work Abby!

The guide features an array of the most popular pet toys throughout the nation selected by Hartz’s newly designated Chief of Holiday Gifts, Anya Edwards, and her team of toymakers. Hartz toys are not only popular with pets but with pet owners alike because not only are they fun but each toy is designed to tap into the instinctual play patterns of animals to promote health benefits.

Ok, Abby is ready now!

Here is Abby Reviewing a few toys and making a complete mess. Hindsight, I need to put a little more planning into taking video of a dog playing with her toys. I think this video is pretty funny and illustrates my every day life.

The Search for Santa Paws

clip_image004So if you read us regularly then you know we have a new dog. And if you don’t read us regularly now you know we have a new dog. Her name is Abby and she’s an adorable chocolate lab with a lot of energy. Now Disney sent us a copy of Disney’s The Search for Santa Paws and I was really excited to watch it. Well, apparently the whole family including Abby was so excited to watch The Search for Santa Paws that they couldn’t wait for mommy to get home to rip open the DVD and watch it.

The Guilty Party:image

I brought up Abby because both Zoe and Miles said that Abby likes this movie and gives it four paws up. So from one dog to another she recommends this movie. Now, I did finally get to watch it and it has some of the best DVD features of any DVD. It is quite easy to pause it and mark where you are at for later viewing. Santa Paws is a great mash up of movies into one and you don’t even realize it. There are orphans, scrooges, and a toy store in crisis. Santa Claus is walking around New York with Paws and someone attacks him. He then loses his memory and ends up working at the toy store in trouble. Because of him and his genuine Santa look he works there as Santa until his magic runs out and he gets very sick. What really surprised me is that the heroine of the movie was not the dog but the orphans.  Santa Paws makes an excellent Holiday Movie with all of the singing and Holiday cheer that it brings to your heart!

“Someone once told me that the spirit of Christmas is embodied in the hearts of children, untouched as of yet by the doubts, fears and disappointments of the adult world.”

–Santa Claus in “The Search for Santa Paws”

clip_image002Whether you’re nine or ninety-nine, Santa Claus likely still holds a special place in your heart. Maybe you remember sitting on his knee at your local mall as a child or writing—and re-writing—him a letter asking for a dollhouse or red wagon. Many of us remember staying up past midnight in hopes of catching a glimpse of him as he came down your chimney.

As parents, we pass down the stories and traditions of Santa Claus. Even if we can’t think of a logical explanation as to how he visits every home on one night or why there are so many Santa look-alikes all around town each December, it is important that we support the true meaning of Christmas and the Santa Cause. Kids ask us tough questions all the time, and this one, like many others, is onethat doesn’t come with a clear-cut answer. The simplest thing is to tell your children to have faith and to just believe. Children love magic, so if you just explain that Santa is magical, that should hopefully help them understand the underlying spirit of Christmas.

Santa Claus is a wonderful tradition, and establishing traditions in your family that get passed down from generation to generation—such as baking cookies for Santa and his elves each Christmas Eve or leaving carrots out for his reindeer—helps create a bond between you and your children. It also makes the holiday more meaningful, memorable and fun for kids, who otherwise might complain about wearing a coat and tie to Christmas Eve dinner at grandma’s. So despite the fact that logic may tell you otherwise, make a point of teaching your children about Santa Claus, his 8 tiny reindeer, his sleigh, his workshop and of course, his best friend, Paws.

THE SEARCH FOR SANTA PAWS is Available on Blu-ray & DVD November 23rd!

Personalized Deck of Cards Things Remembered Giveaway

This year thanks to Things Remembered I was able to get my husband something extra special for Christmas. Don’t worry, I’m not ruining the surprise because I already gave it to him. We love to play cards together, our favorite game being Canasta. We can play for hours taking turns just decimating each other. We have a hard time not going for the huge jackpot, but it’s when the other one is being sneaky and goes out early without going all in, that one of us gets in trouble and ends up in the negative. So, I knew that a personalized deck of cards and matching case would be the perfect gift for him.

The cards are a great quality and we had a ton of fun playing. The only difficulty in playing with these is that you have to remember that hearts and diamonds are red and spades and clubs are black. But that only pertains to games that are color dependent.

ThriveTime Board Game for Teens

Playing games as a family kept my family together for a very long time. My sister and I would play and my dad would referee for as long as I can remember. Parents should encourage family time and there are quite a few fun games out there for teens too! I just received a came called Thrive Time for teens. Thrive Time puts life into perspective for kids, the players are presented with real life scenarios and you have to make smart decisions. All of the real life scenarios are geared toward teenagers. Do you want to buy a car, do you want to save your money, can you manage money. Money management is something I think should be taught in school. Yikes, I’ve seen firsthand how hard it is for some to learn how to manage money. Whoever gets to the end of the board first wins! Woo Hoo! Have fun, make decisions and be a family! A great board game for teens. Oh, and my favorite part of the game is that it encourages giving to charity. Now that is my kind of game!!

You make decisions and take action!

  • Smart Spending
  • Going to College
  • Giving back
  • Buying a Car
  • Using Credit Cards
  • Starting a Business

How to Play the Game:

You pick cards from the draw deck and make decisions based on the information given on each card. Document your decisions on your Game Sheet and move your Player Piece on the Board.
Some of the Choices You Will Make:

  • Is it the right time to buy a car?
  • How will I pay for college?
  • Should I start a part time business?
  • Should I pay for those concert tickets with cash or use my credit card?
  • How will I give back to my community?

How to keep Score:

thrive time score card

While the Board tracks your Thrive Score, the Game Sheet shows the true impact of your choices.
On the Game Sheet you will:

  • Track the money you make (INcome) and the money you spend (EXpenses).
  • List your new businesses and investments.
  • Watch your savings grow.
  • Monitor your credit card balance.
  • See the full cost of car ownership.
  • Follow your college finances.

How did you do?

I received a free Thrive Time Game to review for this post.

How Do You Take a Shower

Shower headYeah, I want to know how you take a shower, I’ve never ever had one before. Ok, that’s not true, but since I’ve had children I find taking a shower next to impossible. Now that I have a dog, it is absolutely impossible. Evenflo sent me some statistics today on moms and taking a shower.

According to a recent Savvy Parents Survey from Evenflo, 43% of parents of young parents say they have to wait until their spouse or other caregiver is around to shower and 6% of moms report never seeming to be able to find time to shower!

How is it that only 6% of moms report never seeming to be able to find time for a shower. I can’t ever find time, unless I take it at night right before I go to bed. But then I lose time with my husband, but I guess a little personal hygiene is worth it right?

This is my day..

I get up at and take the dog for a walk

it’s time to get the kids up and ready to take dad to the bus

we are back home and it’s time to make breakfast

the dog has to go out again

Preschool

the dog has to go out again

blog or run errands and serve a snack

Make Lunch

Nap time and work

serve snacks

Playtime with the kids

More errands

Make Dinner, Do The Dishes, Play with kids, do laundry, clean the toilets, you know all the household stuff I didn’t get done during the day.

Play with kids

Put kids to bed

Time to relax with hubby or blog a little more.

Get ready for bed

So even though there is time to take a shower, it’s the fact that I don’t trust Miles and the dog inside the house alone. The dog will not let me take a shower and she can’t go in our 4 feet by 4 feet back yard. If I do try to take a shower she wines or goes potty in the bathroom floor. I’m sick and tired of cleaning up puppy poo and pee. So I just don’t take a shower during the day. How do you find time to take a shower?

I was not compensated for this post but I am an Evenflo Brand Ambassador and the information they sent me just seemed low and I wanted your opinion? What do you think?

Wisk and Oil Stains, Yes it does work!

Wisk has been putting the three most popular stains to the test.

The Three Most Popular Stain Groups:

* Carbohydrates such as milk chocolate
* Proteins such as grass
* Oils such as peanut butter

I’ve been writing about Wisk for a few months now. Two months ago Zoe and I did a Protein stain test using Wisk. Last month Zoe and I set out to find out if Wisk really could demolish Ketchup. Zoe, Miles and I have been diligent testers while trying to prove that Wisk does indeed work and every project even when I had my doubts Wisk came through and dissolved those pesky stains. Sometimes I wasn’t able to prove it in the instant camera setting that I have. Perhaps just to prove it to everyone I should have edited the video but sometimes I feel that editing the video will make it seem like something is awry. So I just taped and uploaded for all to see. Here is our latest test. The Oil Verses Stain Spectrum Technology test.

The Supplies:Wisk Oil Test Supplies

A hand towel
Compact mirror
Toiletry bag
Lip gloss
A new bottle of Wisk Stain Spectrum laundry detergent

The Test:

In the video, Zoe put on the lip gloss. Then she kissed the hand towel. I didn’t think there was actually enough on the towel to give the Wisk a true test so me being me, I just directly smeared the lip gloss on the towel. Of course, Zoe’s portion of the stain came out right away, but mine didn’t. After using the washing machine the stain came completely out. It just needed a full cycle of detergent, and water to come out and not my 1 minute of swishing around in hot water. Also, remember to visit Wisk at www.Facebook.com/Wisk and follow @Wisk on Twitter for more information.

This post is part of a paid campaign I am doing with Wisk and One2OneNetwork. All opinions are my own.  I received monetary compensation for my participation, but as I said my review and opinions are my own.
