Veggie Tales SweetPea Beauty

We have been watching Veggie Tales for a few years now and my kids are loving all the new movies coming out. The newest of these movies being SweetPea Beauty. I put it on for them yesterday and I’m ashamed to say that I was so tired I fell asleep. I asked Zoe if she wanted to watch it again and she said yes. The one about the princess that gets captured. I’m thinking, I’m glad someone watched it, can you write my review for me?

sp_CoverShe was quite excited to watch it again because Veggie Tales Sweetpea Beauty is another success by Big Idea! I love Veggie Tales because there is always a good message for the kids within the movie and it is reinforced. There are actually two stories on this DVD. Both are about the beauty within yourself. The first one is the story of Snoodlerella the ugliest Snoodle around according to the village. Well, her godmother fixes her up and makes her beautiful and she is the most popular girl at the ball. Then when the spell breaks she is left all alone. While she is sulking in the corner, the king comes out and tells her that he loves her the way she is. She was made beautiful on the inside and that is what counts.

Then the feature of the DVD, Sweetpea Beauty. Queen Blueberry thinks that beauty is only skin deep and she asks the mirror who is the most beautiful. One day, the mirror tells her that Sweetpea is the most beautiful and the queen becomes very jealous. She decides to banish Sweetpea. While the Queen’s attitude continues to degrade the evil mirror makes the queen even more ugly. Sweetpea is saved by the prince and in the process the prince discovers where true beauty lies.

We love Veggie Tales around here, no little kids anymore, but we still buy them. We’ve replaced all our old vhs ones with DVDs. I’m glad to have something on my shelf that I can play for any child that walks in my home and not have to worry about the content.

We still sing all the songs from the original ones that Amber had when she was little!

My 5 yr old daughter has this movie and has memorized it word for word. I believe this one is definitely her favorite as she as to play it everyday. She also has already taken it to school for the class to enjoy too.
