Suave Naturals Body Lotions were at BlogHer in the Unilever Penthouse event. I had the opportunity to receive a foot massage, I can’t remember the special name for it, reflexology maybe? Anyways, it felt amazing and I was able to talk on my feet for maybe an extra hour or two. My feet were so swollen from all of the walking I did there. I was able to choose from all three flavors and my favorite scent is the Mango Mandarin Body Lotion

Looking at the sales this week. Zoe found that princess games are on sale at Toys R Us. I didn’t find much, there is a free product coupon for cat food in the circular this week, but I don’t need cat food so I don’t think it’s worth it for me to go and buy some more papers to get extra coupons, but if you are a cat owner and do not care which brand of cat food you buy, you may want to get that coupons, because it’s a genuine free product coupon, no purchase necessary.

Ring Around The Rosie

Getting the kids to have fun means being an example of fun. So lately we’ve been doing more games and songs. I’ve been doing a lot of Ring around the Rosie with the kids. We’ve even taken it outside to do with the neighbors and as silly as I feel doing it with other moms, I see the smile on the kids’ faces and know that it is worth it. Tonight when I did it I sat down on the wet grass and it was still worth it!

I love to encourage my kids to be silly and when they see me being silly it’s easier for them to be silly. Growing up my dad was always the silly one. He would always try to lighten the mood when I was being shuffled between parents. My parents were divorced by the time I turned 4 and it’s not an easy thing to grow up with split time.

I hope to always be able to inspire fun, laughter and smiles in my children. It would be great if I inspired other mother’s to be silly to. It’s good to put the guard down and just be silly with the kids.

Nanny McPhee Returns Review & Giveaway

Nanny McPhee Returns is out in theaters starting today, August 20th. I had the opportunity to see an early screening of the movie.

Nanny McPhee, that’s little c big P brought laughter and tears to my eyes. It is a heartwarming family film reminding moms that it’s ok to need help, while also teaching kids great manners. Nanny McPhee Returns is filled with actors that I know and love. Maggie Gyllenhaal (Batman: The Dark Night) plays the mom, Isabel Green that has been left behind to take care of everything while her husband is off fighting the war. Her husband is played by Ewan McGregor and even though his part in the movie is very small, I’m still glad he made an appearance in the movie! Isabel is taking care of three children that have gotten quite out of hand. In addition to taking care of her three children, two of their cousins are about to come live with her as well. Plus, she is taking care of Mrs. Docherty (Maggie Smith from Harry Potter), the store keeper that is getting on in her years and needs to be supervised so she doesn’t put syrup in drawers. Yikes, this mother has her hands full.

That is when Nanny McPhee (Emma Thompson) comes into her life. Parts of the movie are over the top, but I think it’s all for the kids. Watching the movie in a room full of children reminded me that that’s what they enjoy. Things that are over the top, like dancing pigs, fireworks and talking birds.

When Nanny McPhee arrives she decides that all of these children need to learn five lessons. She uses her magic to teach them how to share, be kind, have faith and helps them save their farm from their uncle who gambled it away. I’m such a sucker for a family film, I was crying at the beginning and at the end. Nanny McPhee always leaves when you no longer need her but you want her and I wanted her to stay as well. Good Byes are so hard!
