I love BBQ Sauce, I love it on everything. Herman T’s BBQ Sauce was created by Herman T Jones back in the 1950’s. Over the years, Herman T would share his sauce with anyone who would stop by the house. Flavored with the sweetness of honey and a touch of Smokey apple wood, this sauce became a huge hit. As time would go on, he finally passed his recipe on to his Grandson Brian, who then recreated the recipe for mass production. Now today, Chef Brian has turned his Grandfather famous sauce into Herman T’s BBQ Sauce Mix. While keeping all of the essential ingredients intact, this sauce mix is sure to make your mouth dance.
Now, I wanted to be creative with mine. There are directions on how to mix up the BBQ sauce in your own kitchen using the mix. I made meatloaf last night and I used the mix to season the beef. I added carrots, ketchup, Ritz crackers, and egg. I loved how the meatloaf turned out. It was so flavorful and the whole family gobbled it up. When I cooked it I was worried that I burned the beef, it was browned on the edges, but I like how they ended up tasting. Yummy!
The flavor is great and I’m excited to try it just as a BBQ sauce too. What’s really great is that you don’t have to worry about expiration dates. You mix up what you need and use it then store whatever is left over in the fridge.
