For people in the Pacific North West it finally feels like summer. We’ve been looking for the clouds to go away for months now and they are finally gone for a few days. I’ve been watching people on twitter tweet how hot they are. It’s humid and muggy and nasty in many parts of the country and here, we start whining when we reach 85. Yes, today it was somewhere in the upper 80’s and it felt hot.
According to King 5 one of our local weather stations today, we broke a record at the airport reaching 90. The past record for today was 88 set in 1953. Although tomorrow is supposed to be our hottest day this week, it’s going to be short lived and they promise it won’t be over 94 at the airport that is. I was really worried when they were projecting 94 that it will hit 100. It’s still up in the air if Friday will be hotter or the day it all goes back to normal.
What do you do when the weather gets hot?
Put on those swimsuits and run to the beach, the pool or run to my house! We are one of the only houses in the area with air conditioning. I will admit, I’m a wuss when it comes to sleeping and the heat. I’ve tried fans, and cooling the house at night but sometimes it just doesn’t work. So we indulged.
Oh and Miles will be happy to build legos with you INSIDE tomorrow.

Oh, I miss it! I grew up in the Seattle area and moved to Utah about a year and a half ago… I really do miss it! Seattle summers are the best!
Can I come over and sit in your AC?! LOL!! We hit 97 degrees today here on the OR coast. I’m meeeelllllting!!
I loved it over here in Skagit County. It actually got up to 87 today here. Tomorrow is pool day for sure!
In Snohomish County it is supposed to be 86 today. I have the blinds drawn and curtains shut trying to keep it as cool as possible. I think I’m going to ask the mister to set up the A/C unit though. It will be much more comfortable with it on. But it’s GORGEOUS out and I love our summers here.
I agree with you – I *need* AC to sleep. In the spring when it reaches 85 in the midwest, I turn the air on. I can’t handle sweating inside – you’re just not supposed to. : )
I hope it doesn’t get too hot for you – so glad you have air though!!
Oh, I hate you! It’s upper 90′s low 100′s here! I’m dying!!!! And you are claiming in the 80′s is hot!??!!?!?
Loser :p
You know I heart ya
I live in a Mid Atlantic State (New Jersey) and it has been extremely hot this past week. The other day it was 104 degrees, that is super hot for this part of the country.
Do you know that there is a lego studio/store in tacima at freighthouse square? They have all sorts of thins made of legos…pretty cool….saw some on tv. I think kids can play with legos also. They do have some kind of family events but kids have to be 4. I would link you but I don’t know how….
