Madeline’s Great Adventure comes out on June 29th to DVD for everyone to watch. We received a preview copy to review and Zoe has more interest in Madeline and her adventures than Miles does. They don’t usually have any differences in opinions but Miles would rather play and have his own adventures.
In Madeline’s Great Adventure her loyal canine companion Genevieve, her puckish next-door neighbor Pepito and her 11 delightful classmates from Miss Clavel’s Parisian school encounter royalty and pirates in this animated, fun-filled DVD. They encounter their very own Arabian lamp, a visit from the Prince of Monaco, a band of pirates and even track down 40 charitable thieves in Madeline’s Great Adventures. There are six adventures total:

Dads and their Pets

Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul would like you to share your favorite story of your father/husband and his pet. I think that pet owners are parents as well. I’ll go first.
Picking our First Child
One of the first things my husband and I did after we were married was we picked out a dog. We both have a soft spot for a cute puppy. We looked at dogs for a while. We had to wait until we had a house so most of the time we were just teasing ourselves. Then we found the dog.
There was one Labrador/retriever puppy left. He was all alone in his cage and we pulled him out to play with him. We weren’t expecting to take him home with us, we hadn’t quite closed on our new house yet. However he was adorable. Playing with him was quite a bit of fun, the winning feat was that when we threw a ball for him, he brought it back. Thinking that it was an accident for a puppy we threw it again, no matter how many times we threw that ball he brought it back to us.
Chewbacca came home with us that day. We gave all the information on our new home and the humane society actually verified that we were in fact buying that house. He was our first child, and my husband loved throwing that ball as long as Chewbacca would bring it back.

No Longer Addicted to Statistics

I still have a great love for numbers and find myself to still be a very competitive person, but when it comes to my blog; I just no longer care. I don’t have the time to check and see if I hit 1800 unique hits in a day or not. What does it matter in the end anyways. Nada!
My kids are what matter and saving that time that it took to look up every other stat page, has given me more time to be outside with them enjoying life. I’ve also had a lot more time to go and visit other bloggers. I’ve even had more fun reading everyone else’s posts than writing my own, which to me says I’m suffering from severe blogger burnout.
I look at the bloggers that are considered highly influential and I’m actually reading their blogs now. What is the difference between theirs and mine. They don’t write a gazillion posts every day. They write one or two. That’s why companies are working so hard to get on their blogs. That one post is more valuable because how can my readers comment on 3 posts a day. They can’t! They won’t.
I’ve been liberated! I’m free! I no longer care how I compare number wise. My new goal is to concentrate on content. Yes, I will still have giveaways all the time. I just love to give stuff away. I’m just enjoying me, my kids and plan on enjoying writing again. Zoe is going to preschool next year and I’m going to miss that time with her, so I have to stop taking my kids for granted, stop taking my time for granted and be present and live in the moment.

Father’s Day Breakfast Idea Hawaiian French Toast

HAWAIIAN FRENCH TOAST
Serves 2.
INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon, BUTTER
2 EGGS, beaten
1 teaspoon, CINNAMON
4-8, HAWAIIAN SWEET ROLS, cut in half
1/2 cup, MRS. BUTTERWORTH’S SUGAR FREE SYRUP, warm
THE STEPS
1: Heat butter in a large pan over medium-high heat.
2: In a large bowl mix eggs and cinnamon.
3: Dunk rolls into mixture and coat thoroughly.
4: Cook bread until golden brown on both sides about 3-5 minutes each side.
5: Warm your syrup in the microwave and pour over toast.
